Sussan thought that only by meeting the witch will they be able to find out all the necessary details. With determination, Sussan took Peter's hand and pulled him inside the half-opened protective barrier that would lead to the witch’s lair. The minute they went inside the barrier closed by itself behind them and in front of them, both stood an old creepy mansion. “What a terrifying view…” Sussan gasped and halted in her steps. “When we were inside the house, it was not so bad other than a few eerie things which might get us angry. Otherwise, it was fine until she started to build a trap around us.” Peter informed her as he did not know a way to comfort his mother. It was his idea to bring his mother here, as he wanted to test the evil witch. There was something he wanted to confirm and her mother was the best option to provoke Bairania. “What!” Sussan clenched her fist as her anger rose towards the evil witch. “The old witch did try to resemble Grandma Rose and even I forgot for the whole time that our grandmother was not alive in this world anymore. The witch’s manipulative power is too strong once we enter her place. Mom, we need to be extra cautious to not get caught in her web,” Peter tried to warn his mother. “The nerve of her to use my dead mother!” Sussan gritted her teeth and uttered in a grumpy voice. By then they both were brought inside the witch’s Lair. Sussan was not surprised at the lavish appearance of the mansion when they entered. As Peter had already told her that the place really looked posh from the inside compared to the outside, she ignored the prosperity. Instead, she examined the escape routes they could use later in case of emergency while walking behind the witch’s slaves. But it seemed that there was something blocking her view from memorizing the way. ‘Or is it because this place keeps shifting its position and the rooms are rotating and changing more often,’ She wondered. When they entered a huge hall, the slaves at once closed the door behind them and disappeared. As they vanished so suddenly, Sussan stared at the door. But then as she suspected, the door immediately moved from one place to another. “Welcome, My dear visitors… I have been waiting to meet you, Sussan, for a long time now. And you Peter, it seems like you have grown up a lot compared to the last time I met you,” Bairania welcomed them with a huge smile. She then said with a surprised tone, “I knew that adolescent kids do grow up a lot sooner because of their growth spurt but I never expected you to change completely into a different person.” Her smile could not hide the ugliness of her face, neither did it do any good for her scheming eyes that examined Sussan from head to toe. Those dark eyes displayed hatred towards the other lady in the room without any restraint. Sussan stared back at her without any fear. When Bairania met equal hatred in her eyes, she chucked a little and her face brightened. She did not bother them much but still everyone present over there could feel the tension in the air.  When the pressure almost burst in the hall, Sussan looked straight at Bairania and directly asked her, “Where is my husband, David and what did you do with him?” “Are you even sure that he was actually your husband?” Bairania asked her back with a smirk in the corner of her mouth. “What are you trying to say?” Sussan asked her in a confused state. “Oh, boy! This is going to be more difficult than I imagined. Do you really not understand what I am trying to imply even at this point? What a foolish woman for him to choose,” Bairania huffed and looked at Sussan with a mocking smile. Peter’s face turned hard as he could not bear to let anyone insult his mother. But just when he was about to attack the evil witch, Sussan shook her head and stopped him. It’s still not the right time to attack the evil witch yet. They need to have patience as they stand in her lair and also would be at the most disadvantageous side currently. The evil witch noticed the changes in Peter with a smirk but she did not do anything to stop him or provoke him again. Instead, she looked at Sussan and said, “Sussan! My dear,  Sussan! Really? Don’t you understand it all already after what you saw with your own eyes? I have always heard everyone praise you for your intelligence. You are the brilliant person on this whole Asran system but look at you now! I feel pity for you!” Sussan gripped her hands together and tried to reduce her boiling rage. Her heart ached that she trusted David more than herself.  “You did not even realize that the David whom everyone saw was actually one of us. How could you miss something so obvious and put your trust in that fake David?” Bairania asked Sussan while gripping the devil chair with her long fingers. She then stared outside the vast area that laid in front of her eyes through the glass window. Sussan did not respond to her and kept quiet with trembling hands. Peter saw his mother’s struggle and extended his hands towards her. But then he pulled them back as he wanted his mother to face this situation straight on. So that she could be prepared for the future events that would occur when he would be away. At that time, Peter noticed that what Bairania was looking at was not Asper but some other planet. After realizing that Peter had already found out about it, Bairania was not shocked. She looked at him with an evil smile when she snapped her fingers. The planet got destroyed in front of his eyes and he felt his eyes turn watery. He clenched his chest right above his heart as he at once experienced the pain that people had gone through when the planet got destroyed because of her signal. ‘These people are so easy to fool, and I could not understand what Ashes Lord saw in them.’ She wanted to ridicule them more after noticing Peter’s expression.  If only he had helped them before, then they would have not spent so much time on these foolish people. Moreover, even now they had to trick them into doing certain things. ‘He could not even distinguish between an illusion and reality. Is he really Ashes Lord’s son?’ She wondered as she looked at Peter with a scrutinizing gaze. At that moment, Peter removed his hands from his chest and moved his hands in her direction. Bairania stood straight attentively to defend herself. But then his movement only erased the illusion that occurred in front of them. He had a poker face and his eyes were crystal clear. He showed no fear or sorrow on his face. Suddenly, Bairania had a doubt if what she was seeing was real or an illusion. She rubbed her eyes to make sure that she did not see wrong. But by that time, Peter had already moved near his mother and stood next to her without any expression. Sussan then lifted her head and shouted, “Whatever may happen, I do not want to argue with you. I want to see David, right now!” Bairania did not reply to her immediately as her concentration was on Peter. She still could not believe that Peter stopped the time just a few seconds ago. “Bairania, I want to see David. Can’t you hear me?” Sussan screamed at her and demanded that she bring David in front of her right at that moment. Sussan still believed that David was still alive and he was kept in the evil witch’s captivity. She hoped to rescue him from her clutches and escape from here with her son and daughter. Bairania took a blue powder from her pouch and blew it on Sussan’s face when no one was expecting her to take any action. Peter got alarmed when the powder hit his mother’s face. He tried to come in front of his mother but it was already too late. “What did you do to my mother!” Peter took his original form and stood before the evil witch with a threatening gaze. The evil witch did not reply to him. Instead, her eyes sparkled at his sudden change and her heart thumped in excitement. She did not expect him to possess so much power so soon. In her exhilaration, she even failed to realize the danger Peter posed to her right at that moment.
