Barry woke up first. They had slept in their helmets. Virtually, they held each other, but once the headset was removed, Barry and Sarah were sleeping on opposite sides of a very large bed, far from touching. Still, they were closer. Emotionally. Inexplicably. Barry poked Sarah’s shoulder. This time she did not scream, but instead just removed her helmet and rubbed her eyes. “Just ten minutes…” she moaned. “Maybe more.” “I didn’t want to leave you,” Barry smiled. “Convention starts in an hour.” “I’ll be there,” Sarah grinned, eyes still closed, then rolled around and started snoring again.
