Black Rose Curse!

My name is Maria Shantella. I am a librian at my local town. I have owned this library for five years, and inharrited from my family. We were the Shantella clan and a clan of vampires. We are keepers of our family treasures and manusricpts. I worked here when I was just five years and up helping my mom and dad with what ever was needed done. My dad Viktor passed away when I was ten years old; it was very mysterious. He was having a meeting with our Elders and my stepsister Mary was supposed to present drinks and any supplies that was needed for the meeting. They made it through the meeting, but towards the end of the meeting they said that my father was feeling ill, dizzy, and decided to go to bed. My mom later went to check on him before supper and found him passed a way. That was when it all started, the elders looked into the death of my father and tested his drink. It was proven that he was given poisoned blood that contained a curse that now that it flows into his blood now it resides in the whole family. The only person that wasn't included in the family was Mary. She was my mom's daughter from when she was human. She is still human because she wasn't young enough to be turned at the time. My father and mother decided after I was born Mary wouldn't be turned into a vampire. We vampires age faster then humans so as I am now 34 she is just turning 19. I know that she was hurt that she was told she wouldn't become a vampire. So after we got those findings I didn't trust Mary all that well. So I stayed by my moms side all the time I could. Mary wasn't allowed to work in the Library so I tried to keep my mom at work for most of the day. I started working there and doing my school work online so that I could stay at the Library all day. From then on I worked and did school work at the library, come home and help mom with dinner every night. The only time I wasn't around her was bed time. Though one night my mom Trisha made me take an order to a client. I had to go across town to deliver it so I wouldn't be home for dinner that night, but Mary wasn't home that night. She was supposed to be over with her friends from a different part of town. When I got home I felt the feeling I did when my father passed. I was already trying not to cry as I went to the kitchen: I found my mom on the floor dead. I called the elders to come over and check things out. "Maria what is wrong?" Elder Mike asked. "Elder Mike my mom is dead. I think it is the curse that took dad. Can you please come over?" I asked him in a tear filled voice. He didn't reply and just hung up the phone. I knew he was on his way here so I went and set on the porch to wait for him. While I was on my porch swing my only friend and crush Darek Michel O'Conor came up to the porch. He lived across the street from me. The O'Conor Clan was on the cousil with the Elders, his dad was Elder Richard, and he was the one that was able to do the testing for the curse. "Mar, hun what is wrong? You never come out on the porch." Darek asked me. He knew my usual schedule, and he knew I never loved being outside in the dark. I always had the feeling of something following me. "Moms gone, Shes in the kitchen. Dar I don't know what to do. She made me not come home with her, it was like she knew it was going to happen." I drank my bottle of blood I took out the fridge before I came out to the porch. I leaned my head on his shoulder. "Darek I feel that feeling. Something is following me, I can't see or hear anything but I feel it. What if its the curse?" He put his arm around my shoulders. "Maria, I can have dad check you out for traces, but that is all I can think of doing. What does it feel like? I know I never ask this whole time, but maybe it would give dad and I a clue of what's going on." "At times I feel like I'm being enveloped with softness but its suffocating, and some times I get pricks down my back like I'm being stuck." He looked over at me and kissed my forehead before laying his head back on mine. I do love this guy but because of the curse I am so scared of falling in love. We had known eachother from Birth. My dad Viktor and Elder Richard were friends since kids. Richard had helped him build the library and get it started. When we had get togethers or events the O'Conors would come over and they would bring Darek over to spend time with me, and Mary. Mary always stayed in her room and away from us so it always seemed to be just us. "Maria, Darek Good evening, Where is your mom dear?" Elder Mike and Richard had come up to the porch while we were swinging and just spending time with eachother. "She is in the kitchen on the floor. I only grabbed a sealed bottle of blood from the fridge and didn't touch anything else. She made me go deliver a set of books to a client across town. It felt like she knew that it was going happen and didn't want me around." I told them. "Father she told me kinda how she feels when she feels like she is being followed. I want to talk to you about it after you survey the scene with Elder Mike. If it will be possible." Darek added for Elders. "Darek I think that will be perfect and I will probably join that conversation. I know that Maria has had a night and I would like to give her a break from everything going on." Elder Mike replied and I nodded my head at that. Darek held me while they went in to inspect the scene and do the testing. I am not sure how long it took them to do the investigation, but when they returned I had fallen asleep on Darek's shoulder. He gently woke me up when they came out. "Maria, It is true that she passed from the curse, same as your dad her blood turned black like she was drinking poisoned blood. I can not figure out the poison though; I have looked into it since Viktor died. I am worried about you. Your the only one left of this family. What are you wanting to do about Mary and the house?" Elder Richard asked me. "Mary has always wanted the house and wanted to be alone. So I think we should let her live here and have the house on her own. I will help pay for anything she needs, but she needs to find a job in the human world to help me out as well. She will have to stay in school and graduate, and if she is needing tutors I will help her get those as well. I want to make sure that she is well off. I can't change her due to my fathers proclaim but I can help her out. As for me there is a room that I can expand and use as my living area in the library." I told him. I was tired and just wanted to go to bed. Darek had offered to let me stay with him and his family so we went to his house and I went to bed as they went to further discuss the situation.
