As soon as Vanesa enters the class everyone includes stop what their doing and look at her. She walks to the teacher and introduces herself. Then Mr Stan directs his attention to the student. "Everyone this is Vanesa she is a new addition to our class. Say 'Hi' to her." The students did as they are told. Vanesa simply nods.
Mr Stan then proceeds to speak to her. "We welcome to our class Miss Jacobs, you can find yourself an empty desk and chair." Vanesa looks around the class and sees a few empty sits. She chooses the second row from the door. Pulls out the chair and sits.
Mr Stan is bulky looking man with a scar that starts from under his eye to the corner of his mouth. Vanesa was fascinated by this. She loves listening to stories. She wondered what the story was behind the scar. Was he involved in a fight? Was it an accident? Maybe he was involved in something dangerous. His raven colored hair, pink golf shirt and blue jeans made him look like a very cool person. Someone who would never start a fight. But Vanesa never judges a book by its cover.
The class proceeded and Vanesa found herself paying attention. By the end of it Mr Stan called her and asked to speak to her for a minute before she goes to her next class.
"Miss Jacobs I know you are new but I have to say this. Please don't be late to my class again. You can go." He didn't even wait for her to reply.
She thought that was rude but she decided to be polite "Sorry sir I promise it won't happen again." She left his class room feeling today conflicted.
The next class was English which she enjoyed very much. Ms Montèm was very nice. She kind of reminded Vanesa of an cartoon character. She was excited when Vanesa introduced herself. She even offered her a lollipop. Vanesa thanked and took it. She doesn't like sweets but she didn't want to seem like a rude person.
The class before lunch was a math class. There was a pop quiz which kind of threw her off a little bit. As she finished write she knew right away that she failed it. There was no way she passed that.
At lunch she sat outside under a tree at the back of the school. She wasn't alone, there were other students of course but where she sat she was alone. The tree gave her a good view. She saw that there were two more buildings at the school. She didn't want to dwell on them at that moment because something else had her attention.
There was a group of students sitting on a bench and table just not far from her. But she was far enough that they wouldn't tell that she was staring at them and she also had her hoodieon. Five boys were just joking around and laughing so hard one of them almost fell from the bench. One had brunette hair and blue eyes. Second boy had red hair and blue eyes.
Of course Vanesa could not see their eyes from where she was sitting. She knew their eye color because those were her brothers. James the brunette and Jake the red heard. Before she came to school she had asked them not to interact with her at the school. They respected her decision.
Even though she wished she hadn't said that because now she had to sit here alone but she was also glad that she did.
Among her brothers were three more boys. Two had blonde hair. They were also brothers. And their black haired friend. She didn't know their color. Anyway she wasn't bothered by that. When she spotted them she had this great idea. She needed one of the blondes.
But first things first, she needed to know him. She wanted to see him at his best. She wanted to get to know his personality. It's been a long time since she had been excited about something.
"This is going to be interesting." she told herself.
She spend a few moments between classes planning towards her goal.
After her last class she walked around the school with her hoodie on trying to locate him.
"Of course he plays football, why didn't I see this coming?" She asked herself when she spotted him at the football field putting on his helmet.
She watched them practice from under the breaches. He looked like he knew what he was doing. he tackled one of his team mates so fast the boy didn't see it coming until he was too late to react.
The coach whistled and called him over. She couldn't make out what the coach was saying. Maybe he wasn't suppose to tackle the other boy the way he did.
Vanesa didn't want to be spotted so she left before anyone noticed her.
Vanesa has won award for figure skating ever since she was a kid. She has always won the first or second place. She did that all by herself. She never had a partner before. Which is why she was so excited by this. She found some to test this new chapter of her life with. She was also scared that it might not go as planned.
He might not even want to be involved in this. He might even make fun of her. Her brothers might find out. She doesn't want them to know. This is her thing. She want to see if it will work or not before she tells them.
When she got to the parkings she spotted her mom's car. She got in. "Hi mom." she greeted. "Hi honey, how was your day?" You can see that was probably waiting the whole day to ask her that.
Vanesa gave her a little smile, "It's was not what I expected. I enjoyed it. It didn't feel like my first day."
"Did you make any friend,." her mom asked a hopeful glint. "No, not yet. I just..." she didn't know what to actually say to her. She wasn't the type to make friends. She liked her space. He mom just smiled at her. Even when things were normal Vanesa's friends were her siblings.
On their way home they spoke about random stuff. Jennifer was very happy. Her daughter was coming back to her. She was very different from the person she was that morning and that was a good thing.
