"Hey Red. Text me as soon as you get this. I kinda of got in trouble. Anyway how was your first day?" That was the message she saw as soon as she clicked on his profile. "Trouble?" she replied. Three dots. "I missed you. You been gone the whole day. Are you alright?" he didn't even answer her question. "He's stalling." she thought nervously. "It's was better than I expected. It didn't feel like a first day." "Cool. Can I call?" she got more worried. She wondered what me meant by 'trouble'. She was about to respond when he didn't wait for her response and just video called her. She let it ring, it stopped. He tried again she answered immediately. "Hey" she smiled at him. He smiled back at her. She noticed that he was nervous for some reason. He was scratching his head with his right hand. His short black hair was pointing at every direction. Then his hand moved to rub his neck. His blue eyes moved to look probably at the keyboard of his laptop instead of her. "I missed you, you know." he complained with a smile on his face. But Vanesa knew that smile very well. The last two years since they met Ben she had read him like a book. Looking at him right now she could tell he did something he promised he wouldn't do. They met on f*******: by fate. She started the account with the help of her mom when her therapist suggested she should try to go back to her routines. She decided to paint and sketch again. She set up the account and named it Artificial Gallery. Sketched a black feather and put it aside her profile picture. Some of her art was in bright colors but back when she started they were in dark colors. People love them. "I missed you too. You kind of scared when you said you got yourself in trouble. What happened?" "You remember Mr Tucker?" "The on who owns the antique store on Stolk Street?" "Wow, you even remember the street name. I wish I had your mind. You always remember. So, Uhm he got robbed this weekend and he thought I was involved. But I promise, I swear I didn't do it." He pause , looked at Vanesa. He was waiting for her to say something. "I promise." he repeated. "Yeah, so he gave me a job. He wants me to work there after I come back from school on mondays and fridays because those days are usually busy. If you ask me I think he just wants to keep an eye on me. My parents agreed with him. I promise it wasn't me." he looked her in the eyes. "Oh." she didn't know what to say. She did believe him but she was also worried about him. "I believe you." He sighed relieved that she believed him. He has never lied to her even when he wanted to. He didn't want to lose her. He's never felt this way about any girl. .....Mean while..... "You look worried." Jake enters his brother's bedroom. "Is Max's party canceled?" he joked trying to lighten the mood. Justin sighs "No. Something happened at school today just before classes started." "Something like what?" Jake got worried. "I was chatting to Max by the lockers when suddenly I felt this pain in my chest." Justin replied. "No I'm not sure what it was but it was powerful. It wasn't pain. It was like being bought back to life after drowning. I hope I make sense." "Was it magic?" Jake asked trying to understand. He didn't feel anything wrong at school and they both know that he is more sensitive with magic. If someone was out there powerful enough close to him, he would feel it. "No it wasn't." Justin was still confused by it. He promised himself that he will get to the bottom of it. Because whatever happened that morning he wanted to feel it again.
