Edmond needed all the help he could get. His people were counting on him to keep them safe.
This oil rig was a disaster waiting to happen and if things went wrong, it could devastate their waters and all that needed it to live. Knowing the terms, Edmond nodded, saying, “Yes.”
Stix went to leave, but Kornell grabbed him by the arm. “Stix, don’t do this. Don’t walk away.
He is our mate.”
Stix gently released Kornell’s hold on his arm, and Edmond could not just see, but could feel the rage building in the man. Not at Kornell, but at Edmond and the situation. “Everyone in this castle knows that Edmond is our mate, Kornell. They all know that we are his and he rejected us.”
