Nine: Firefly

Work seemed much less of a pain the ass when she wasn’t complaining and actually tried to be productive and enjoy it. And each passing day it was manageable and a bit enjoyable if she was ever asked by her generous boss. Ivet had been so engrossed in correctly sorting out the books customers had disoriented yesterday—a bunch of teens aimlessly stumbled through the door filling at least two aisles and they were so loud at that—but Ivet barely noticed Liann standing not so far away just staring at her. No, not a glare this time just staring—gawking to be a bit more precise. Liann had used the wooden book shelf as support for her body as she leaned against it, arms crossed right in front of her chest, her left leg over the other—she just stared. No it wasn’t creepy at all—it was normal, completely normal these past days. It had become a habit at this point. Causally just watching Ivet work—no arguments whatsoever and that was a mystery because they surprisingly hadn’t fought over petty things in a while—two days to be exact and it was one hell of an accomplishment. And that was a lifetime of peace in their case. But besides that, Liann found herself smiling every darn time she was gawking at Ivet. It might have either been because of her smile or how pretty she looked—a creased on her forehead or sometimes a pout, basically everything. Particularly in this moment as well—Ivet sighed then placed the book back in its place before standing up and stretching her body—her poor old back. It practically released a crackling sounds by just a mere movement. Her left arm holding her right in chokehold as she stretched to left then that done for the other arm as well. It felt relieving just freeing her body of the tension of bending over for nearly hours sorting out books and carrying heavy books. “Well hello to you.” Ivet greeted pulling Liann out her train of thoughts. She was really not interested in holding a conversation with her right now—like a zero percentage of interest nor curiosity—she held other thoughts in mind though. And just like that Ivet found her back pressed against the shelf as soft lips met hers—and it wasn’t new, the amount of times Liann had randomly kissed her in the past week since her failed date—she did consider it success though, she was getting free kisses whenever. Liann wouldn’t just admit it. Liann kissing her would happen at the least expected time—she would either be having breakfast happily chewing then an arm would be placed over her shoulder soon after Liann’s lips or she would be working—specifically talking to a customer then she would kissed breathless. It happened especially when she noticed customers flirting with her. Was she jealous?—of course she was she just would not be admitting it whenever Ivet brought it up and again she wasn’t complaining—she could get used to it. And Last of all, Liann would randomly kiss her in bed—yes Ivet’s room as she was sleeping or awake even getting dressed, as long as she wanted to. Ivet kissed her back every time just as now, placing her arms around her waist she deepened the kiss. Unlike yesterday were she got none at all getting kissed at seven in the morning made her happy. She had almost thought she had done something wrong—well that thought can toss itself out the window immediately. Ivet liked how Liann would always kissed her gently and afterwards had the tips of fingers lightly brushing her skin—just in thought or sometimes head empty just them in the moment. Were they dating yet?—Ivet believed so, she would have loved to think so because why else would Liann just kiss her whenever she needed. “So are you my girlfriend now?” Ivet asked, her head pressed against Liann’s once they broke out the kiss—equally both trying to catch their breaths. Liann shook her shook her head. Creating a distance between them she pulled her head back but still had her hands resting on top of Ivet’s shoulders. “I’m not.” She spoke as she lightly brushed her fingers against Ivet’s exposed collarbone. It was lightly and slow completely capturing her attention and more so whenever Ivet’s breath quicken by the touch, or her how she gulped. “Why not?” Of course she pulled herself out her thoughts to meet her gaze, her head a bit tilted to the side. “You haven’t asked me to be your girlfriend, sort of rude keeping a woman waiting and on her toes.” her attention was on Ivet but her hand continued caressing skin. “Would you like to be my girlfriend?” She wasn’t blind she knew how drastic her demeanor had changed. She was completely weak to her knees and Liann smirked knowing how much effect she held against Ivet’s free will. She liked it. Liann leaned in again this time placing a light kiss on Ivet’s lips before pulling away from her hold—which she did sort of miss. “Try again.” Then she walked out away—only a half functioning Ivet was left trying her best to process all that.
