Chapter 35: Find Cross

Everyone was prepared for a fight, Cross and his men had gotten Dominic's family out and back to Dragonmare; my men were watching the house from afar to see what Mario would do. I left my mate at home with Kiko and Jones, Jones didn't cheat on Kiko but explained what happened, and they made up. I was happy for them, my daughter was with her best friend, so I dropped in to check on them, they were at my private cabin studying for their midterms, the shock on my face when I saw a boy balls deep in my daughter, I turned around when she yelled, "Dad, omg," and they started covering themselves up. I walked out to give them privacy to dress, I went into the kitchen and got a bottle of water, and she walked up behind me in the guy's shirt. I said, "I came to make sure you were safe, things are going on, and I worry about you."
She looked at me and smiled, I said, "Mel is outside, he will stay here until the coast is clear," I kissed her forehead, and she hugged me and said, "I am sorry, Dad." I wanted to talk to her about the guy, but she said, "He is my boyfriend, I should have told you, but you and Ore were going through stuff, and I let it be." I asked, "Is he your mate?" She said, "No, but I am careful, I am on birth control, I promise I won't embarrass the family, and I like him a lot." I hugged her and said, "You will never embarrass me, but dinner tomorrow night, bring him," and left. I wasn't shocked she was sexually active, I was shocked she didn't tell me she had a boyfriend, she was almost a legal adult, having s*x with her boyfriend. I headed to where Nexus was and saw him arguing with Odessa, she was back in town for a few months on business.
She smiled at me, and we greeted each other, she said, "Your uncle is a piece of work," I smiled and agreed with her, she left, and I side-eyed him. He said, "She is in town with our son, and he is refusing to talk to me," I asked, "Is he still angry at you for yelling at him for being rude to your wife?" He said, "Pretty much, I hadn't seen him in years, he is in town with his mother and refusing to see me." I smiled because I knew he had this handle, but I wanted to be snarky and said, "Maybe you shouldn't have cheated on your girlfriend with your mate and got both of them pregnant at the same time." He growled at me before teleporting, and I laughed; things started to pop off in Dragonmare, I knew Cross was cleaning house with his men in my territory, but we lost signal, and Nex came back holding his chest and saying, "Something is wrong."
I teleported to ask Drax for help, and Ty joined me instead; he was unstable from what I heard in our link, but he was determined to help me find Cross. Nex was on edge as he took his gun out, he yelled, "Where is my son, damn it?" We headed to a building that was burning, there seemed to be an explosion, and we saw limbs and bodies on the floor. Cross was dead, but his body was intact because of his link to me, and Ty woke him up. He was covering one of his men, who was dead, and Ty was able to heal him and bring him back; we checked around and out of the twenty men sent on this mission, we were able to save eighteen. Nex hugged Cross once he got up, and I had never seen my uncle like that before; he loved his family, and I promised to speak with his son, Nex Jr., on his behalf.
We headed out as his team realized they had lost two men and took the bodies back with us to notify their families. Cross was furious and asked about the safety of his mate, I said, "She is doing great, but what happened here?" He looked at me and said, "The building was bobby-trapped, I got a lotus flower to kill," before teleporting. Ty smiled and said, "I like him, he has vengeance on the brain," I rolled my eyes, and Ty teleported back home. Nex looked at me and I patted his shoulder, he said, "f**k," he had tears in his eyes, knowing he hadn't really shown this side of him since Lucas's death, and I said, "It's not easy when you have kids." He said, "I loved all my kids, I need to talk to Odessa," before he too teleported, leaving me to check on my pregnant mate. I waited for the good news from Dominic, Mario was dead, and I sighed, looking at my mate, who looked at nursery designs.

Nexus
I was in my office when I saw Odessa visiting Jesse, I didn't even know she was back in town; she left after we broke up and had my son. I wanted her to stay here so we could co-parent, but she was angry and left anyway; I usually teleported back and forth, bringing my son here until we had a huge argument when he was seventeen, and he never spoke to me again. Odessa tried to be civil, but she hated me, and I don't blame her; I hurt her badly. Nex Jr. didn't like my mate much, and I could only assume it was because of Odessa; I should have nipped it in the bud years ago, because now we are strangers. After talking with my nephew, I headed home to check on my family when I felt pain like no other, and my wife screamed in pain, my kids were feeling it too, and I teleported back to my nephew to ask for help.
I tried mind-linking him, but nothing; my wife was crying, and asking, "Where is my son, Nex?" I told her, "I will find him; he will be okay," I looked at Lear, and he teleported, bringing Gamma Ty with him. I looked at Cross and his men's last known address on the GPS, and we all teleported there with a few of my men. The building was on fire, and Ty chanted a spell putting the fire out; I took my gun out because I was killing everything until I found my son. Lear took his gun out, but Ty just whistled, walking ahead of us, everyone knew Gamma Ty was unhinged when it came to killing. I could smell the burnt bodies, and I looked for my son's body in the rubble; a few limbs were lying around, and Ty started to bring those who were dead back. I found Cross, he was barely burned as his body was slowly healing, Ty finished him up so he would wake up.
Cross hugged me, but was visibly upset that he had lost two of his men; we took the bodies back with us, so the families could have a proper burial, and we would pay for everything. I mind-liked my wife, "Hey baby, relax, I found him, and he's okay," she was happy and said, "He linked me, thank you Nex," before closing the link. Cross loved his mother, and I should have known he would let her know he was okay before I did. Cross told us what happened, and I teared up; I loved my kids and wanted to fix things with N.J., Ty left us, and I decided to talk to Odessa. I was outside her hotel room, and she opened the door, she smiled, letting me in, and said, "I am here for a few months on business, I won't interfere with your life." I looked at her and said, "I want to talk to him," when N.J. walked through the door and said, "I don't want to talk to you, Dad."

Cross
I tracked down and killed Ramos, Lotus got away, and I was furious, I heard about what happened in Dragonmare, and teleported there to check on my mate. Dom looked at me and said, "Get cleaned up, you can't meet her looking like that," I smiled and went into the bathroom. I heard a knock on the door, and I knew it was my mate, I smiled because this was Dom's doing, I opened the door, and she stared at my chest, I wasn't wearing a shirt, just my pants; I was cleaning up the blood. She looked cute too, I leaned on the door frame and asked, "Is that shirt for me?" She said, "Sorry, Queen Ruby asked me to give this to you," I smiled, taking the shirt as our hands touched, she didn't feel anything, but I knew she would in due time, her heart was damaged before Beta Drax healed her, and she would slowly feel the bond.
She turned around, walking away, but I stopped her and asked, "What's your name?" She smiled and said, "Bianca," I introduced myself, and she shook my hand. She still looked at my bare chest, and I asked, "Do you want me to put the shirt on, or do you still have plans to stare at me?" She blushed and turned her face, saying, "Sorry," I smiled and asked her to walk with me; she asked, "Aren't you working because I saw you around the penthouse, protecting us?" I said, "Well, Ruby was my priority until your daughter became her son's mate," she took my hand, and I led her out to the back garden to take a walk with me. She told me about her daughter and granddaughter; I could see she loved them, and then I asked about her former mate. It was a sore topic for her, but she told me everything, and I offered to kill him for her, Bianca opened her eyes wide in shock, and I kissed her cheek, letting her know I was kidding.
