Darci’s POV
The sun had risen before we set off a few hours ago. We were getting close to the border of Blue Brook. Teams had separated to cover more ground, covering the span of at least a mile wide. My team had become quite chatty along our trek, walking together in a group as I trailed behind.
I could hear the rushing of the river not too far away, clogging my senses with the smell of soil and water. Something else wafted through the air, faint but un-mistakeable.
Eve. Vyra confirmed.
My sense of smell took me left, darting through the forest at impeccable speed; which caused the others to take notice.
“Dar, where are you going? Slow down!” Maria’s voice echoed in my head.
