Every time Katie tried to stop crying the image of them together would creep back into her brain and start her off again. Even though, deep down, she had already known what was going on, there was always the chance it was paranoia. Now she knew for sure. Not only had Jamie chosen Haley over her, but Haley had chosen Jamie over her too.
Kenny hugged her as she cried, stroking her hair and telling her it was going to be okay. That one day they would all be friends again and laugh over all of this. Katie couldn’t see that happening.
“I’m sorry,” Katie said, sniffing away snot and tears. She felt disgusting. Crying all over the one person who actually cared about her and wanted to spend time with her.
