32. Rowan - Rescue?

                Rowan lay in the darkness on the floor of the van, listening to the harsh male voices, vehicle doors slamming and things being moved around outside. She was so terrified she wasn’t sure if she could even move, and there was a pervasive buzzing sound in her head.                 Taking deep breaths to try and ground herself, she began to lever herself upright, so she could at least be facing whoever was coming to get her from the van. Her wrists were stinging and she could feel sticky blood coating her palms; surely there would be enough for him to notice now.                 Would this make the man careless?  Would he be distracted enough to give her a chance for escape?                 Another few minutes of nerve wracking waiting, and the doors to the van were pulled
