Intrigued by Rachel’s words, I am about to ask more questions when a knock on the door interrupts us. We turn around to see what is going on. In the doorway stands Owen, who pants heavily, saying he has something to report.
Sensing the seriousness of the situation, Victoria offers, “Would you like to step out to get some fresh air, Louise? I suggest we take a walk alongside the river. The flowers are in full bloom, and the scenery must be stunning.”
