Jennifer’s POV
To be honest, it never occurs to me that I would visit the Royal Prison the first day I come back. While I am excited about the trip, King Robert and Ryan are not quite satisfied about such arrangements. The King’s attitude towards me took a dramatic change, from being entirely indifferent and condescending to super concerned and generous.
I don’t know whether it has anything to do with my pregnancy, or he figured out I can make Ryan’s wolf stay cool, or he acts like this only because Luna Lizzy asked him to. Either the way, it is a relief to know the King won’t be an obstacle anymore.
Ryan is less composed than his father. He is furious when he discovers the old maid attempted to poison me.
