Betrayal
Gold Bay City. The Emperor Hotel. Midsummer. The Smith family, one of the prominent families of Gold Bay City, is hosting a dinner. Emily Johnson, the fiancée of the young heir to the Suarez Corporation, accompanies her fiancé, Alex Suarez, to the banquet, even though the Johnson family sees better days. Downstairs, the gardenias are in bloom, their scent carried on a light breeze. Emily stands on the balcony outside the hall, enjoying the breeze to clear her head after drinking a little too much. When she returns to the lobby, she notices that Alex Suarez and Linda Johnson, who came with them, are missing. Emily looks for them and tries to call Alex, but he doesn't answer. She tries calling Linda's phone, but there is no answer either. She suddenly recalls earlier in the evening when Alex came to pick her up. She had gone downstairs after changing her clothes and saw Alex and Linda sitting close together on the sofa, looking intimately familiar, Linda had even put her hand on Alex's arm. Thinking of this, her face turns a shade paler. She approaches a waiter and asks, “Have you seen my fiancé? His name is Alex, here’s his photo.”She shows a photo of Alex Suarez on her phone to the waiter, who glances at it and then looks at her with a strange, sympathetic expression. 'The gentleman you're referring to? I saw him walking over there.' In the hotel garden. Near a large tree by the swimming pool. The warm light casts a shallow glow on the ground, and under the tree, a familiar pair of figures embrace. ‘Alex...’ The woman's voice is soft and alluring. She wraps her delicate hands around the man's neck, leaning into him. The man seems cautious, looking around before gently pushing her away, but the woman clings to him again. ‘Alex, why push me away...’ When Alex sees where Emily is hiding, she quickly ducks behind cover. She hears him say, ‘Linda, what is this surprise you were talking about?’ Linda's voice is sweet, tinged with shyness. ‘Alex, I'm pregnant.’ Emily feels struck by lightning, her eyes widen in shock, her face goes deathly pale. ‘What?!’ Alex is visibly surprised as well. ‘What did you say?’ ‘I'm pregnant, Alex!’ Linda throws herself into his arms, a blissful expression on her face. ‘I'm carrying our baby. You're going to be a father, aren't you happy?’ Alex looks down, his face a mixture of shock and confusion. ‘When did this happen?’ ‘About a month ago.’ Linda nestles into Alex's arms and looks in the direction where Emily is hiding. There is a cold glint in her eyes, her lips curled into a provocative smile. ‘It happened in your house, at the bay window, the day my sister went to the movie set.’ A month ago, while she was away filming? Emily's head spins and she feels nauseous. Linda says more, but Emily doesn't hear it. Her mind is a blank. After a while she hears Alex say, ‘Let's go back. We've been out too long, she'll get suspicious. Having finished their moment, the two walk back to the hall. Emily, her face pale, feels as if her heart is being torn apart. She looks up and sees Alex coming toward her with Linda in his arms. As they get closer, she panics and runs. Emily feels dazed, possibly from the effects of the alcohol. As she runs, she bumps into several tall, muscular men in black. Before she can apologize, one of them grabs her and says, ‘We found her. Take her away!’ What do they mean by ‘her’? Are they confusing her with someone else? Emily struggles weakly, her strength fading. Her head spins more and more, her consciousness blurring... On the floor of the presidential suite of the Emperor Hotel. The elevator doors open. A group of bodyguards and hotel staff surrounded an exceptionally handsome man as he stepped out. The man exuded a powerful aura, with sharp, exquisite features that were almost impossible to describe in mere words. He stood well over six feet tall, with a physique even better proportioned than runway supermodels! He was dressed in a finely tailored, hand-crafted suit, its platinum cufflinks and buttons gleaming under the crystal chandelier lights. The black dress trousers hugged his long, straight legs. He walked with an elegant stride to a room, and a bodyguard promptly opened the door for him. As the man entered the room, he casually removed his tie and tossed it into a nearby closet. After taking a few steps inside, a sudden, unusual heat ran through his body, and with a ‘click,’ the door was locked from the outside. He paused, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Turning quickly, he walked to the door and tried to pull it open. It wouldn't budge. He tried again, to no avail. His expression darkened, and just then his phone rang. The caller ID showed: Marcus Black. As soon as he answered, a man's laughing voice came through: bro, welcome home! We've prepared a special gift for you. Have you seen it? Do you like it?’ A hint of anger flashed across the man's handsome face, his eyes narrowed, and his deep, magnetic voice was tinged with a chill: ‘What's this nonsense? Open the door.’ ‘That won't do, bro. Tonight, we made a bet. If you come out now, I'll end up with nothing to eat.’ Another voice added, 'Bro, I bet on your purity. Don’t disappoint me!' The man's face grew even darker. ‘Haha, we won’t disturb you anymore. This beauty, both in figure and face, is top-notch. I'm sure you'll be satisfied!’ With that, the caller hung up first. He attempts to call again, but the phone displayed that it was turned off, Ethan Shaw stands outside the bathroom with a somber expression. Inside, the sound of running water indicates that someone is present. A cold, hard smile forms at the corner of his mouth. After a moment, he pushes open the door, and steam billows out, filling the air with mist. The muted sounds of a woman in distress reverberate, similar to a kitten's gentle cries. The reader pauses, finding the sound unexpectedly captivating. As the steam dissipates, the scene before him becomes clear. A woman is in the bathtub, wearing a red dress that is soaked and clings tightly to her skin. The wet fabric becomes nearly transparent, revealing her curves. She has a beautiful face with delicate and refined features. Her lips are a soft pink color, moist and tempting. Her eyes shine like stars, captivating Ethan with their brightness. Her wet hair floats in the water like seaweed. Although she is undeniably beautiful, Ethan has no interest in her or any woman. He stands next to the bathtub for a moment, a cold expression on his face. He speaks in a cold tone to the woman in the tub, 'Please leave on your own. You have one minute to vacate my room.' Upon hearing his voice, the woman in the bathtub raises her head. She frowns slightly, observing him for a moment, then slowly climbs out of the bathtub with a splash. After climbing out of the bathtub, she suddenly embraces Ethan Shaw's legs. His body stiffens instantly, but he does not experience any adverse reactions. She clings to his legs and rubs against them gently. The woman before him has tears in her eyes, a pained expression, and whimpers softly, 'Help me, I feel terrible, so hot and thirsty. Am I going to die?' Ethan Shaw has a strong aversion to women, except for his family. The previous woman who attempted to seduce him in this manner was thrown from the fourth floor by his bodyguards. Although she landed in a swimming pool and survived, the incident left her terrified. However, to his surprise, he finds that he does not repel this woman's touch. His body shows no sign of discomfort.
