MICKEY WALKED IN the door that evening and was surprised to find Chris in the kitchen doing things at the stove.
“What’s up with all this?” he said as he gave Chris a hug and kissed him.
“What’s up is I was getting bored just sitting around the house. Then I remembered how much I enjoyed cooking when we were in grad school and sharing an apartment.”
“Where’d all these utensils come from? I know they weren’t in my kitchen in Norfolk, and I don’t think they were here either.”
“I went shopping. In fact, I doubt there’s a gourmet type shop in town that I didn’t visit today. Tell you about it later. Meanwhile, dinner will be ready in about fifteen minutes.”
“Which means that I’ve got just enough time to shed these clothes and take a quick shower.”
“Yep. Time
