Sophie thought that she was living the perfect life, she had a kind-hearted boyfriend, a family that cared and was even on the dean's list in college.

However, that all changed one day when she went with her best friend to see a fortune teller at a carnival that was in town.

Upon her meeting with the old woman, she is told that she is the reincarnation of the Greek goddess, Persephone and that Hades has been searching for her.

Sophie laughs the old woman off not believing a word that she says. That is, however, until she finds a monstrously sized man standing at her front door the next morning claiming to be none other than Hades.

Chapter 1
The sounds of kids screaming from the excitement of the carnival rides and the smells of freshly popped buttered popcorn, filled the warm North Carolina air as I walked with my childhood best friend, Isabella through the large crowd of families and lovers that had gathered for some excitement. As we continued to walk through the large crowd of people, trying to avoid bumping into someone. I watched as Isabella stopped and pointed at this large ornate tent that had a sign nearby it that read, 'fortunes and line reading,' and said to me. "Sophie. Let's go over there and get our fortunes told?" I shook my head at her in a disapproving manner and then replied. "Come on, Isabella. Why would you want to go to some con artist and get lied to and then get ripped off?" Isabella gave me a pouty look and then said. "So. I already know that everything that we are going to get told isn't true. But still it sounds like fun and it will be a whole lot better than being out here with all these strangers." I sighed a bit and then replied. "Alright, Isabella. I'll go with you." I listened as Isabella cheered a bit and then walked ahead of me towards the tent. I knew better than to tell her no. Every time that I tried, she always gave me that damn pouty look and those stupid puppy dogs eyes and to be honest it was f*****g annoying as hell. Knowing that I needed to hurry up and catch up with her, I quickly rushed through the crowd and quickly walked over to the entrance to the tent and stopped. Seeing as I had finally caught up with her, Isabella took this as her chance and pulled up the curtains to the tent and then ushered for me to follow her. Once inside the tent, I looked around at the gaudy pendants that were pinned around to the inside of the tent. Feeling a bit curious about them I reached out to touch one of them. However, when I did, I felt someone touch me on the shoulder and then said. "Why don't you come on to my table, child and have a seat and have your fortune told." Quickly, I moved my hand from the pendant and looked to see a wrinkled, old, gray-haired woman staring at me with this odd gleam in her eyes. I tried to jerk my shoulder away from her and then watched as she gave me a half smirk and then walked away from me and then stopped at an entryway and motioned with her finger for me to follow her. I crossed my arms across my chest and sighed in annoyance and followed the old woman, all the while reminding myself again why I even came in this con artist shop with Isabella in the first place. After following the old woman, I watched as she stopped at a small round, wooden table that had four chairs surrounding it and then chairs surrounding it and then said to Isabella and me with a wave of her wrinkled hand. "Come, children. Take a seat at my table and we shall get started." Isabella practically jumped for joy when she heard the elderly woman say that, and quickly walked over to the table and took a seat in one of the chairs. Once she had sat down, I watched as she turned around in her seat, facing me and then patted the empty chair beside her and said to me. "Come on and sit down, Sophie!" Doing as Isabella wanted, I walked over and pulled out the chair and sat down beside her and then watched as the old woman took her seat. As we sat there for a few minutes we watched as the old woman pulled out a set of tarot cards, placing them on the table in front of her and then looked between the two of us and asked in a polite voice. "Alright, which one of you girls would like to go first?" Isabella was excited when she heard the woman ask, she looked straight at her and smiled and then said. "I would like to go first!" The old woman nodded her head and then said. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am Madam Zola. The teller of the future to come." She said and then looked to Isabella and then flipped a tarot card over in front of her and then said. "I see dear, that you are going to find something special rather soon." Isabella's eyes brightened at the sound of that and then I heard her ask. "I wonder if it's going to be a puppy?! I've been wanting one of those for a long time." "That I do not know my dear, the card is just telling me that you are going to gain something special soon." The old woman answered with a shake of her head. I giggled a bit to myself after listening to the conversation between the two. The conversation sounding a bit like something of a grandmother and granddaughter exchange between one another. However, as soon as I giggled, Isabella turned her head from Madam Zola's face and looked at me and asked. "What's so funny?" "Nothing, nothing. Don't worry about it." I replied with a small wave of my hand towards Madam Zola, ushering for her to continue. Madam Zola grunted her thanks and then looked back at Isabella and said aloud in order to get her attention again. "Alright, Miss Isabella. Let's finish up your reading shall we." Isabella quickly turned her head from me and looked back to Madam Zola and nodded for her to continue. With those unspoken words being said, Madam Zola flipped another two cards from her pile and then said with a point of her finger. "This card here tells me that you are going to gain an amount of wealth rather soon. While this one here tells me that you are going to lose someone close to you rather soon." I watched as a grim line formed on Madam Zola's face and then heard as Isabella asked her with tears forming in her eyes. "Can we end our session? I don't want to hear anymore." Madam Zola nodded her head in agreement and then answered and patted her hand. "Sure dear, if that is what you would like. We can end your session." Feeling as it was time that we hurried up and left, I quickly stood up from my chair and then helped, wrapped my hand gently around Isabella's arm and helped her up from her chair. However, as soon as we stood up to leave, I heard Madam Zola clear her throat and say to me with a point of her finger. "My dear, haven't had your fortune told yet. Please, have a seat." I was not in the mood to listen to some old woman get an attitude problem with me. So, I had Isabella sit in my chair and I took her chair and sat down in front of Madam Zola. Once I had sat down in the hard, wooden chair, Madam Zola picked her tarot cards back up and then reshuffled them in her hand and then placed them down on the table and flipped one over. I tried reading the look on her face, but I just couldn't and gave up on even trying. She looked up to me and pointed at it and said. "My dear, this is a past life card. However, the reading that I'm getting off of you is that you are of a reincarnation of something otherworldly even may I say goddess-like. It's strange, I've never seen anything like this before." She said with a slight hum sound to her voice. Hearing her say that gave me mixed emotions of both being worried and angry. I was worried because deep inside my mind I kept wondering if Madam Zola maybe actually telling me the truth, and to be quite honest with you this s**t was starting to scare me to death. I pushed my current feelings aside and let Madam Zola continue with her reading of me. She pushed the past life card over to the side and then flipped another over and looked to me and said. "I see a man has been searching for you. Desperately, he has been doing so and he is rather close to finding you. My dear. I would highly advise you to trust no one and to be wary of all that come near. This that I see is of monstrous strength and size and he will do anything to make you his for good." I blinked twice and tried to utter a word from my lips but couldn't. This lady was f*****g crazy and I knew then and there that we needed to get the f**k out of her, fast. I slammed my hands down onto the wooden table in front of me and pushed myself up from my chair and turned to Isabella and said. "Come on, we're leaving. I'm not staying here any longer to listen to this old woman spew lies from her lips." Isabella pushed back her chair and stood up and opened her purse and took out ten dollars and placed the payment down in front of Madam Zola who then quickly snatched it up off the table and pocketed the money. Figuring that this whole situation was finally over we turned to walk out. However, as we were getting ready to head out of the tent, I heard Madam Zola chuckle and then said. "My child, you will come to find out very soon that I am never wrong." I scoffed at her remark and then stomped out of the tent with Isabella close behind me. This night was supposed to be about us getting out and having some fun, not about having to get our futures told by some con artist, old hag. Feeling annoyed and tired from all the s**t that I had just heard, we decided to call it a night and went our separate ways in our own vehicles back to our apartments.
