"Yours?" she said and laughed like a madwoman. "She's mine." My little girl started to cry, and Kevlin started rocking her in her arms.
I was still standing at the door. I needed to think fast and keep Bella safe.
"Hand her over." My heart started to race; fear began to take over me.
"No." I could see the hatred in her eyes. "What part don't you get?!" she yelled at me.
I heard footsteps.
"Liz..." Hendrick appeared at the door. "What...?" He was speechless, as shocked as I was. I didn't look at him, but I knew he was tense.
"Kevlin came to visit us," I tried to keep my voice steady.
"Kevlin, let's talk," Hendrick spoke. "Give me Bella." He spoke and tried to pass me. I blocked his path with my arm.
