Carrie sipped her coffee as she walked back to the waiting room. Grayson silently walked beside her. The older werewolf’s presence made her feel at ease, even though she did not know him well. Carrie wondered if that was because he had been the pack Alpha before Drew. Regardless of the reason, she was thankful he had offered to be with her when she called her parents. She knew that it had been Drew, that she would have fallen apart, overwhelmed by the mix of emotions she had been feeling since the night of the party.
“I don’t hear anyone,” Carrie softly said as they approached the waiting room.
“Perhaps they have moved Hailey to her room, and they followed,” Grayson offered. He was using his enhanced listening, but also heard nothing.
