Carrie tried on all the nightgowns she had purchased before she settled on the dark green. She was nervous. Carrie had never felt such an instantaneous connection and attraction to anyone. She had only known Drew for a day, and yet she felt like she couldn’t live without him. As she stood, looking in the mirror, she knew she needed to let nature take its course and let things happen as they would. She gave her curls a final fluffing and walked out of the bathroom.
A deep growl filled the room the moment Drew’s eyes fell on her. Carrie’s heart skipped a beat as she saw Drew’s eyes change from their usual peridot green to a bright golden yellow. She watched Drew’s lips move, but the voice that came from him was not his.
