A ripple of coughs echoed across the lobby as Dr Purcell and myself tried to cut through the thick crowd that was gathered there.
“Who are they?” I asked, referring to the other people dressed in white lab coats running around the clinics.
“Aid from the alpha’s pack house. We need all the hands we can get,” he said as he continued to lead me through the sea of bodies.
My eyes darted left and then right.
Gurneys were strewn everywhere and people were coughing and some had oxygen masks strapped around their faces.
What the hell was going on?
