An Unusual Mate

Chapter Eight

Kaila's POV

I hadn't meant to draw attention away from Tanya but seeing Mitchell torturing my parents forced me to growl. I nuzzle my head in Luke's neck trying to calm down as I heard the packs voting. I was glad to hear everyone was going to remain allies despite the changes going on. After voting most of the other packs left the room leaving Tanya, her dad and Alpha King and his beta. I feel a hand brush against my cheek and I sigh into it feeling sparks. "Hey, you okay?" I nod into his neck inhaling his scent. I feel him wiping my forehead and I realize I'm sweating. "Are you sure?" He whispers. I nod again as I sit up to look at him. "I'm good, mad as hell, but I'm good." Tanya said, "We have to find my mom and your parents but I have no idea where my brother would be." I sigh closing my eyes as I recall my last vision. I try focusing on the other details and not on watching my parents. My eyes flutter open as I feel Luke's arm tighten around my waist. I smile at him as my eyes close again. Recalling details has gotten harder with my last few visions thanks to me being to close to the targets. Slowly I start recalling pieces of the area. "They're in a basement... Like a dungeon. So I think they are on pack lands.. I smell a mix of shifters, so it's hard to tell whose involved." I dig deeper in my memory but come up empty. "I think they are close, they would have to be to try and take two other Lunas." I open my eyes and see the amazement in my mate's eyes. "You can tell that much just from the few minutes you were out?" I nod, "After a vision, I usual have to decipher them. Get the who, when, where and whatnot. It's harder when I'm in the vision especially when I see things from the victim's point of view. Those are harder to decipher, which is why I didn't know it was Luna Samantha being kidnapped till later. I saw things from her point of view." His kisses my forehead and says, "you are amazing." Then as I nuzzle back into his neck, I heard the Alphas start to make a plan.

Lucius's POV

As my mate settled back I look to the alphas, "We need a plan, I don't want him coming after anyone else. Alpha Mathers, Tanya, I know you probably don't, but is there any place he would have taken them?" Tanya shook her head, "When he left the pack, I checked all his Hangouts, even the ones dad knew nothing about. Nothing most seem like he hadn't been there in month." I nod and Alpha Mathers rubbed his chin in deep thought. Kai moved and places her head to mine kissing me softly as images filled my head. Seeing a basement, the Luna, and her parents had me growling and Sebastian threatening to shift. She pulls away panting as she looks me in my eyes. "Didn't know if that would work." She says biting her lip. "Now you know what I know, maybe you can figure out where the hell he is. I need to sleep now and not here because you need to plan without worrying about me." With that she gets up, grabs her dishes and kisses my forehead before she leaves. I look at the door as it closes and knowing she's right, we get to work. After a while we were all hungry and getting frustrated as we were no further than we had been. There was a knock at the door and Elder Mathew walked in. "Due to events, Alpha Smalls, I hope you don't mind if we wrap this summit up tonight." I shook my head grateful to have this over. "Not at all but I'd at least like to have a parting dinner before everyone returns home."

We all head towards the kitchen and I smile as I see Kai and Keisha talking at the table. I walk over and kiss her forehead. "Hi, baby!" She replies kissing my lips. "Keisha and I have been getting to know each other. She also showed me around the pack house. I knew it was huge, but I didn't know how huge. I wanted to see the lands but she was getting hungry and tired so we came here." She was so excited talking her wings were fluttering. "I thought you were going to go sleep." I reply "I did, then I woke up." She said with a sense of finality. I nod knowing I'm going to question her later. As dinner was served, the alphas and I talked as she continued talking with Keisha. "Alpha, thank you for finding such an incredible mate. It's great not being the only ranked female." Keisha laughs. My pack mates look on and Frank said, "So it's official Luke?" I nod and stand up pulling Kai up with me. "Grey Moon I meant to do this earlier but I want to introduce to you my mate and your future Luna, Kaila Park!" I smile as everyone claps and cheers as I kiss her passionately. She laughs kissing me back as she wraps a hand in my hair causing me to moan softly. I heard someone clear their throat and I remember we weren't alone. I laugh and pulled away, "Well finish this later." I whisper in her ear. We return to our dinner and I look over and see Tanya and James nuzzled in each other's neck. Sheila walks in with dessert, a huge red velvet cake with chocolate icing. I hear two squeals as Tanya and Kai faces light up. We all laugh as I tease them, "I take it you two like red velvet cake." Alpha Mathers laughs as well, "For these two, red velvet whatever is life." They stick their tongues out playfully before digging in. Twin moans of delight from them cause us to start laughing again. I look over at Kai to see her eyes closed and icing on her lip. I wipe it off and she looks at me before licking my finger. When she sucks my finger in her mouth I have to suppress a moan. I turn back to my cake ready to send these guest off and enjoy my mate.

Finally everyone was gone and I entered my room to find my mate on my bed wearing one of my t-shirts. I bit my lip as I walk over to her. She looks at me and laughs, "I was trying to wait for you to not be so busy, but I need to go home and pack some clothes." I smile shaking my head, "What's wrong with my clothes?" She smacks me playfully, "Um I can't wear your pants and walking around the pack house in just your shirt isn't going to work." I sigh agreeing reluctantly with her. "Fine, we'll go in the morning. Right now through, I'm going to enjoy my mate." She moans as I kiss her roughly causing her to grab my hair just as rough. My mouth opens in a gasp and her tongue begins fighting mine. I climb on top of her grabbing her hands and forcing them above her head as she moans grinding against me. I rub back against her roughly as she moans softly breaking the kiss as her head falls back exposing her neck. I kiss down her neck adding new hickeys to the fading ones. "Luke!" She sighs out my name as her eyes close and she rocks against me. Her arousal is strong and I know she's soaking wet for me. I push the shirt up rubbing her breast needing to feel her skin under me. She groans before pushing me off her. I look at her as she pulls her shirt off and starts on my clothes. As someone tries to mind link me, I throw up a block wanting to be only with my mate. "Sorry Alpha, but we have a situation." Frank says from outside the door. I look up and see my dad and he's mad. "Sorry, I'll meet everyone in my office." My dad slams my door and I look over to see Kai's mouth open. "That was embarrassing!!" She yells ducking further under the cover.

I quickly shower before getting dressed and kissing Kai before heading to the office. My dad throws me a look as I sit down, "I'm sorry ok? I wanted time with my mate." My dad shakes his head, "That's not why were mad! Someone attacked an Omega tonight. She's in the pack hospital but Dr. Jenkins doesn't know if she'll make it." "s**t. Do we know anything?" Cameron nodded and handed me an envelope. I open it to find a video chip. I slip in into my laptop and watch as the video loads to reveal a basement with bars. I see Chris and Anna before the camera flips and I'm face to face with Mitchell Mathers. I growl as he speaks, "By the time, you see this I'll be far away but I needed to make sure you got this. Tell that little b***h you call your "mate" I'm coming for her next. She can watch me kill her parents before I kill her." With that he begins torturing Anna with a taser gun. The video ends and I look around at my ranked members. They are in as much shock as I am. "He will not get my mate." They nod in agreement. "Are you going to tell her Luke?" My dad asks. "Not yet, I want to have more information. I want to try to bring her parents back alive. Alpha Mathers and I've discussed that at this point getting everyone home safely. So if we got to, we kill him on sight, just as soon as we find him. I'm going to the hospital to see if the Omega can tell me anything. This information does not leave this room." They nod and I leave to go let Kai know where I'm going. I peek in to find her sleeping already so I don't bother her as I head to the pack hospital. As I enter the hospital, head nurse and Sheila's sister, Sharon, greeted me. "Alpha, come with me, Dr. Jenkins told me to bring you to her office." As I enter the office I see the doctor rubbing her eyes. "Alpha please have a seat." As I sit across from her she says, "I'm going to be honest with you. I am doing what I can but there was enough wolfsbane to stop her from shifting but not enough to kill. She was able to fight back enough to save herself from certain death. She's just out of surgery so we won't know anything for a while." I growl and said, "This is about my mate, he's making it extremely personal." She looks at me and says, "Also I wanted to give you something for your mate." She stands up and walks out. When she returns she hands me a backpack. I glance at her before opening it and seeing blood bags and wine. "Mix it with the wine. According to her brother, she still is struggling to accept that part of her." I look at her, "Thank you. I should have come to you yesterday." She waves her hand, "With everything going on, I knew you'd get here in time. I'll let you know if there's any change in the young wolf." I leave sighing softly and as I enter the pack house I realize just how tired I am. I place the wine and blood in my mini fridge and curl up in bed next to my mate falling asleep quickly.

Kaila's POV

After Luke left I fall asleep only to find myself dreaming about the beach. I sigh softly as the breeze comes off the water. I turn to find Luke and kiss him passionately before we begin walking along the shore. I giggle as he pushes me gently into the water. He laughs at me until I tackle him causing both of us to fall. We lay in the sand as the waves wash over us and I relax in his arms smiling. Before long we finally get up to head home and I challenge him to a race back. We take off until I stop suddenly as a dreadful feeling makes my skin crawl. I look around and can't find Luke anywhere. "Luke?" I call for him getting scared. "This isn't funny, LUKE?!?" As I'm distracted, I feel someone come up behind me. I throw into the water just as I see Luke running towards me. "LUKE!!!!" I scream as I hit the water. I begin trying to swim to the surface only to be pulled down. As I blast my magic as whatever is dragging me, I see Luke trying to get to me. I'm suddenly surrounded by darkness and all my senses become useless.

Lucius's POV

I awake to screaming and someone hitting me. I jump up ready to fight before realizing it's Kaila. I quickly realize she's dreaming as she begins gasping. "Kai, baby wake up." I say shaking her awake. She sits up suddenly coughing and gasping. I hold her close to me whispering to her. "I'm right here, I'm right here." She grabs tightly to me as I kiss her forehead. "It's okay calm down. No one is going to hurt you." She nuzzles into my neck taking short breaths until she calms enough to push me away. "My bag." She says as she coughs again. Her eyes are closed and she is starting to wheeze. I jump up and grab her bag handing it to her. She digs through it until she finds her inhaler. After she uses it she pulls me close to her and I press her against me until her breathing evens and I feel tears on my back. I pull back looking at her as she is trying to fight her tears. "What were you dreaming?" She uses the inhaler again before telling me about the dream. I hold her close as I see the fear creeping back in her eyes. "I'm right here. I am going to do whatever to keep you safe." She snuggles against me yawning softly. "You should get some more sleep. "I can't, this dream won't leave me alone. I dream it anytime I sleep more than a few hours." She admits as she yawns again. We're both exhausted, I know it and I see it in her body. I look at the clock and see it's after 1am. "What if we sleep till about 4am? Think it'll leave you alone that long?" She drags her eyes open to look at the clock before biting her lower lip. "I don't know." She admits. After I set my alarm, I pull her closer laying us both down, "Let's try and if you have the dream again, I'll be right here to wake you." I promise her as her eyes slip close again. I kiss her forehead softly and once she's snoring softly I curl up around her stroking her wings until I fall back to sleep.

I groan softly as my alarm goes off. I quickly turn it off and look down to see Kai still sleep. She bites her lower lip groaning softly as she rolls over burying her head into my chest. I wait not sure if I should wake her but when she makes no other movement and is snoring steadily, I close my eyes and go back to sleep. Before long she starts squirming in her sleep, I open my eyes slowly as I smell her arousal growing. She moans softly as her hand finds my hair pulling it. I look down at her unsure if she's still sleep. She laugh and moans again before falling still again. Her arousal has woken Sebastian up and I shift on the bed slightly as I watch her. Her hand slips from my hair as she rolls onto her back. "Sebastian." She moans out as her back arches.

-Hah! She called my name- Sebastian smirks

I roll my eyes at him as she shivers slightly moaning softly. After a while her eyes flutter open and she turns over kissing me roughly. Images from her dream fill my mind and I moan softly as I hardening under her. Before long we're both a sweaty mess as I take her again and she grabs my neck pulling me in for a deep kiss. "One more baby," I whisper once I'm close. She nods and her head falls back exposing her neck. My canines extend and I force myself to c*m before I accidentally marked her. Luckily, she started cumming same time as me yell out my name as we both c*m. We lay there for a while catching our breath. She turns over and looks at me, "It's getting harder for you not to mark me as yours... Isn't it?" She inquires kissing my neck. I swallow hard. "It's fine, baby. Never think I'm rushing you, until you want to be marked I'll just keep giving you hickeys." I say as I climb on top of her taking her again.

Finally we get up and she groans. "I have nothing to wear!" I look around and realize she's right. I push her towards the shower. "Let's shower and I'll ask Frank if Keisha has something you can borrow." She glares at me. "Us, shower, together.. I think not!" I laugh and say, "No, I'm serious, you want to go get clothes from home and I want you to have breakfast first. It'll be a quick shower." She laughs shaking her head at me but just as I promise we got out the shower fairly quickly. I leave her in the bathroom as she finishes drying off. I had just linked Frank who said Keisha would be happy to bring her something when I heard her scream. "LUICUS SMALLS!!!"

Kaila's POV

After a quick shower I felt better as Luke walks back into the room. As I rinse my mouth out with his mouthwash, I look in the mirror. My hair was a tangled mess, my neck and breast were covered in fresh hickeys. "LUICUS SMALLS!!!!" he runs in slightly panicking before laughing at the look on my face. "YOU DONT NEED TO PUT THIS MANY HICKEYS ON ME!!!! MY HAIR IS A MESS, I CANT EVEN PUT IT IN A PONYTAIL SINCE YOU SOMEHOW POPPED MY SCRUNCHIE. I DONT HAVE ANY THING HERE AND YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?!?!?!" I scream at him as his laughter grew until he was crying. I tackled him wrestling with him until he stopped laughing. By now I have rug burn on my legs and arms making the situation worst. Then there's a knock on the door. He pushes me into the bathroom before going to the door. He comes back handing me a short black dress that barely reached my knees and a pair of black thongs that were brand new. I walked out and sat on the bed pulling my sandals on. I knew the moment he saw me because the possessiveness started coming off him in waves. "HELL NO!!!" He yells as he runs to the door. "KEISHA DIAMOND GET IN HERE!!!" he slams the door before grabbing me rather roughly as he drags me into the closet. A few seconds later, there was a knock followed by, "Alpha?" He storms out the closet. "IS THIS SOME SORT OF A JOKE?!?" I peek my head out as she says, "I told Frank I need to find a pair of leggings, he ran off with the outfit before I could find them." She holds up a pair of pink leggings. "And the underwear?!?" She shrugs, "I only wear thongs, when I wear any underwear." She looks at me hiding, "Wolves have the annoying habit of always ripping underwear."

"Luke may I talk to Keisha, alone?" I say stepping out of the closet slightly. He frowns and looks at me. Before he can say anything I shake my head, "No, I'm not asking you Lucius! I need to talk to Keisha. Either we talk here or I go to her room. Those are your only choices!" With that I take the leggings and slam the bathroom door. After a minute, the room door slams and I hear a tap on the bathroom door. "It's me Luna." I hear Keisha say. "It's just Kaila, or Kai please." I say opening the door. "I need your help with my hair and these damn hickeys." I say sighing as I step back. She looks at me, "Wow, all these happened in the past 48 hours?!" I nod and shrug rubbing my arm. Her eyes drop to it, "That's not a hickey!" I look down as my eyes widen. "That damn Luke!!" She looks at me tilting her head. "He dragged me into the closet just as you got here. He was in possessive alpha mode." She shakes her head clicking her teeth. I look at her as she began laughing. Then she ran out to her room and I sat on the bed and pulled on the leggings. "Damn wolves." I shake me head as she ran back in with a big ass bag of hair products and make up. Frank walks in behind her and his eyes widen as she hands me a pink shirt sleeve sweater. "Yikes, I figured you had a few marks since you were wearing his sweatshirt but dang." Frank shakes his head. Keisha smacks him, "Don't say a word, it was that simple. I need you to find Lucius. I told you that, not to follow me." He shook his head, "You needed me to carry your damn suitcase up here." He kisses her forehead and leaves. As she begins working through my tangled hair I begin to relax. Finally she pulls it into a ponytail and starts applying makeup to most of the hickeys on my neck. There's a knock on the door just as she finishes, she packs her bag and lets Luke in on her way out. The moment the door closes, he looks at me and runs his hand through his hair. "I'm sorry." I look at him surprised. "You're sorry?" He nods and leans against the wall. "I shouldn't have grabbed you like that. It was an easy fix but I overreacted. I never meant to hurt you and if the hickeys bother you, I'll stop." I walk over to him, "I don't like being manhandled. While I understand it was impulsive and not done in malice, it still hurt. Also the hickeys, maybe not so many where others can see them. I don't want to be bundled up in this heat. It's the middle of summer for crying out loud." I kiss him softly on his lips. "Now can we go eat so I can go pack up my house?" He nods kissing me back.
