Chapter Twelve

Kaila's POV

As Claire leads me downstairs, I begin feeling light-headed which made no sense to me. She leads me to the stool I'd just left and demanded me to sit. Keisha comes over and hands me a glass, then I see her with some other girls. "Oh, you haven't met the triplets yet. Met Jada, Nydia, and Lydia." I look at them and they are really pretty. They had light caramel skin, brown eyes and jet black hair. "Hi." I says hearing my voice crack. Keisha nodded to the glass, "Drink that." I sip it and feel it burn in my chest but in a good way. "What is this?!" One of the triplets giggled, "Bloody Mary with wereliquor!" Keisha looks at me and leans over, "I made yours so it's special." She leans back and winks at me. I take another sip and begin to feel myself settle. I smile and walk over to where they were seating. Then I see all the liquor on the table. "Wow. That's a lot of liquor." I say shaking my head. "We are turn eighteen tomorrow and even though she can't drink, Keisha wanted us to have a good time." The triplet from earlier said. Keisha laughed, "Don't feel bad, I can't tell them apart some days either, and they my sisters." I finish the drink and Keisha grabs my hand. "Girl, I'm going to kick your ass in training after I drop this pup. We ranked members can be discreet if it's necessary." I laugh and hug her, "I'm sorry okay!" She grabs my glass, runs off, then comes back and adds more liquor to it. After about twenty minutes, the girls are pretty drunk and my drinks are becoming more and more just liquor. Claire walks in and brings plates of food to us which brings Luke and Frank downstairs. Just as I'm digging into my waffle, Luke steals a piece of bacon off my plate. "Hey!" I smack his hand playfully.

"Lucius Smalls! Stop stealing your mate's food! There's plenty in here!" Claire calls from the kitchen. I laugh and continue eating. As he plops beside me with his place, he grabs my head pulling me to him as he kisses me roughly and deeply. I moan leaning into the kiss as my wings wrapped around us. We jump apart at the sound of someone clearing their throat. I look up to see a man I don't recognize. "Sorry, Steve." Luke says, "Kaila meet Steve, he's their dad." He points around the table. Steve laughs, "Hello Luna, nice to finally meet you." I look around and see the triplets looking at us all. "I want that!" They all yell together. Steve shakes his head, "Now you've done it Lucius!!! My babies are ready to leave me!" I laugh realizing he hadn't been mad, it was just knowing that his girls would be finding their mates soon. Realizing this, I pull Luke in for another kiss. Suddenly he pulls away, his breathing heavy as he pulls me to my feet. "Excuse us!" He says pulling me upstairs. We are barely in the room before we are naked as he takes me against the closed door. He's kissing me hard as he enters me causing me to moan. "f**k Luke!!" He pounds into me and we c*m together hard. "s**t, baby, I can't wait to mark you and have our pups." I moan against him not trusting my voice. He carries me to the bed as I realize he's still hard. I kiss him passionately as I grab his hair pulling him closer. He moans in the kiss and starts making love to me. After a while I'm barely hanging on, I'd done last count of my orgasms and he's still going strong. "No more Luke" I moan as he continues pounding into me. "One more baby, I'm almost there." I shiver as he reaches down pinching my c**t. I arch my back screaming as I come and he empties into me again. Finally I give in to the darkness smiling.

Lucius's POV

I smile looking down at my mate. I pull out of her and wiped her down with a wet towel. After I showered, I went downstairs to find food. I felt bad seeing as I'd interrupted her. As I enter the living room everyone was still downstairs. My mom walks over and smacks me upside the head. "Hey, that was not my fault!" I yell raising my hands in defense. "So you mate isn't upstairs knocked out because of you?" My dad says laughing. I shake my head going into the kitchen. "I just can't win around here." I mutter not knowing Keisha had walked in behind me. "Your mother put some food up for Kai. It's in the oven." I look at Keisha, "What did I do?" "You didn't let her finish eating, son." My dad says. "She was running on a buzz of blood and wereliquor. She's going to feel like s**t when she wakes." My dad explains shaking his head. He hands me some aspirin and Gatorade. I sigh taking everything back upstairs. I enter just as I hear Kai roll over. "Hey baby." "Don't talk to me!" I look at her as she holds her head. I hand her the aspirin and Gatorade. After a while she eats and snuggles against me. I smile as I kiss her on her forehead. "No more. We need to talk about my..." "Nope, it's taken care of already." I interrupt. She sits up staring at me, "you took care of it?" I nod pulling her close to me as she yawns closing her eyes.

The next morning, I woke up before Kai. I needed to get back into my training and work schedule. I kiss her gently only to get a snore in response. I giggle as I get dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. I slip on my sneakers as I write a note and run downstairs. I see Keisha in the kitchen rubbing her stomach. "You okay?" She nods, "This pup was kicking me all night, I think she was partying with her aunts." I look over and see them passed out on the sofas. "They gonna have horrible hangovers when they wake up." I say shaking my head. "I know, that's why I have Sheila coming in a little earlier to make them something before the house wakes up. Should she make Kaila something too?" I nod, "Yeah, I think Kai would love that." I wave goodbye as I run out the door to get to training on time. After training, I walk in to see Kai sitting at the dining table with the girls and just as is expected, the triplets are holding their heads nursing hangovers. "How do you not feel like crap, Luna?" Jada, the oldest and most outspoken ask. "Good genes plus I stopped before you ladies thanks to someone." She says lifting an eyebrow in my direction. I smile as I walk over leaning down as she leans back and I kiss her softly as her wings fluttered against my chest. "Good morning babe." I mutter against her lips. "Morning babe." She mutters back sighing softly as she deepens the kiss. "I have to get back on schedule baby, so I'm going in to the office, want to join me?" I ask pulling out of the kiss. She shook her head, "thanks but no thanks, I think the office got the message. I'd rather hang with these ladies." "Yeah, we're going shopping, soon as our heads stop pounding," Lydia, the youngest triplet says. "That's actually not a bad idea, Kaila needs a dress." My mom says walking into the kitchen. "Huh? For what? Ummm...nope I'm not a dress girl!" Kaila stutters as I laugh. "You have a Luna ceremony coming up, not to mention Tanya's alpha ceremony." I gently remind her. She groans as she shakes her head. "Great..." I laugh at her as I go upstairs to shower and get ready to leave. On my way out the door, I stop to grab the extra debit card I'd had made for her from my drawer just as she came in the room. "My my my!" I turn around to see her leaning in the door licking her lips at me. "Nope!! I have to go!" I tell her quickly. She giggles, "I know, I came to find something to wear and figure out where I can shop seeing as I don't have much money." She slips into the closet and starts pulling out several pairs of shorts. "Baby?" I call to her. "Huh?" She continues going through the closet. I enter looking at her. "Here, take this when you leave." I take her in my arms as I hand her the card and kiss her forehead. "You are mine, stop worrying about money. If you chose to work, I'm not going to stop you but for now, continue doing what you're doing. The pack could care less if you work or not." With that I kiss her and leave smiling all the way to the office.

Kaila's POV

I groan softly as I slid to the floor of the closet. "That man knows what to say and do for me to melt like chocolate!" I say to myself. "That's his job, Kai!" I jump to see Claire standing in the doorway. "Ugh wolves are fast and have freakishly good hearing." I mutter to myself as I finally settle on a pair of cut off shorts and a t-shirt. I am hunting around our room getting flustered that I can't find my favorite sandals. Claire is still there and starts laughing at me. "What, it's your son's fault I can't find half my clothes!" I say as I finally find them under the bed. "When you are shopping with the girls, don't look at price tags, just enjoy yourself." She says looking me in my eyes. "I'm being serious!" I bit my lip and nodded knowing I was still going to look at the price tags. After she left, I rushed to shower and get dressed. As I threw my hair in a messy bun, I hear my name being screamed through the house. "I'm coming!" I scream back grabbing my bag making sure my bracelet and new card are inside as I fly down the stairs. "Finally!" Jada says rolling her eyes. For wolves that had severe hangovers thirty minutes earlier, they were hyped. Then I see Mike, Frank, Shawn and two other males enter the living room. "Luna meet Cameron twin brothers, Tyler and Tyson." Mike says as he leads us all to a limo. Keisha rolls her eyes as her sisters jumped in excitement at the sight of the limo. "Aw, sis let them be!" Shawn says as he helps the younger ones in. Once we are all in and on the way, I can't help but tease Shawn, "How does it feel to be the only boy with all these younger sisters?" "In a word, annoying!" He says laughing. Then Frank reaches into the front and brings out a bottle of champagne and glasses for each of us. As he pours us some, Tyler hands Keisha some apple juice. "To the triplets!" Shawn yells and we all chime in sipping our champagne. Finally Mike says, "Luna, we're about to pull in to the mall." I nod and as I pull out the bracelet I explain what I'm doing. Once the bracelet's on and everyone is done gawking at me, we get out and head inside. The first store we head in is Aeropostale. The triplets run wild while me and Keisha do some light shopping. When we enter the next store my eyes light up until I see the price on some cute jeans. As I'm backing away I bump into Mike whose been hovering since I got out the car. He frowns and mutters to me, "Luna, if I see you look at one more price tag, I'm calling Alpha." I stick my tongue out at him as he places the jeans in my hands. Ten minutes later however, I fall back into my habit and check a tag of some heels. I'd forgotten his threat until I'm face to face with him and everyone else. I blink as I hear ringing and then I hear Luke's voice. Mike hands me the phone, "H-hello?" "Kaila Maria Park!" I swallow hard hearing my full name. "Yes, Luke?" "Stop looking at the tags or I'm going to have my mother do your shopping!" I gawk knowing me and his mom do not have the same taste in clothes. "Fine, Alpha." I whisper.

Finally the girls are wore out from shopping and I have enough clothes and dresses. I do spend a good bit on lotions, hair products, and bath necessities. We all pile back in the car and head home. It seems to take forever and for some reason, I start feeling anxious. "Luna?" I hear Shawn say. I realize I'm fidgeting with the bracelet. "Mike?" I call and he looks at me. "We're almost back. Five minutes at most." I grit my teeth and the moment he stops the car, I yank the bracelet off and fall getting out the car. My wings have me in the air before I even realize it. I fly back to the pack house and land leaning against the door panting as someone pops up in front of me. "Celeste?" I say looking at her. She frowns, "Where is it?" I look at her confused. "I've been trying to get your attention for the past thirty minutes. Your power was suppressed obviously, so where is it?" At that moment, the limo shows up and the triplets are giggling. "That was so cool, Luna!" I smile before reaching in the limo looking for the bracelet. I hold it up and Celeste grabs it out my hand shaking her head. "Did you suddenly feel anxious or weird while wearing this?" I nod looking at her. "You aren't going to be able to wear this anymore." I stand up looking at her, "I'm not going to stay stuck in the pack house the rest of my life Celeste!" I say and she backs up. "Whoa.. that aura is crazy!" I look and see the wolves eyes are wide but curious. "I didn't say that, Hun, I said you can't wear this one." I look back at her, "Explain." "I'll bring you something else when I see you Friday. This thing suppresses you too much, it's why you feel compelled to fly afterwards. Your body literally has to remember how to be an angel again. After Friday, wearing this too long will make you sick." She looks at me pointedly. "It also suppresses your other gifts. So your visions wouldn't make much sense while wearing this." I nod and say, "So I have to stay here until Friday?" She shrugs, "if you need to go out, one of us could help without this. It's only four days." I yawn again and see Mike standing there looking from me to the door silently wanting me inside. "What ever Celeste. I'm tired and would really like to get to sleep." I say pushing past her and into the house. I know I'm being rude but I'm exhausted and not in the mood to talk in circles. I finally drag myself in my room where I see Celeste and Claire. I groan and Claire said, "Mike asked me to bring you this after you stumbled out the car. He said you were probably just tired but to be safe." She holds up a cup and I groan again thankful as I drink it. Then I look at Celeste and she nods, "I'll see you Friday Hun and call one of us if you have to go out before then." Finally they both leave and I fall on the bed falling asleep fully clothed.

Lucius's POV

I was tired, happy to be getting back in the swing of things, but tired none the less. I hate days when it's meeting after meeting. I sigh knowing I'm going to have to fly out again in four weeks. There was a project in Maine that I'd needed to check on and even though I would only be gone two, three days max, I wasn't looking forward to it. I get home to find the triplets on the sofa and Keisha and Kai no where downstairs. I figure Keisha being pregnant was probably sleep but Kai I wasn't sure. My mom stops me as I head upstairs. "When you go up there, let Kai sleep, Luke." Before she can explain, Mike shows up and they both tell me what happened after I'd talked to her. I sigh as my mom says, "Seriously, Luke, let her sleep." I nod and finally get upstairs. I laugh seeing her sprawled out over the bed, bags everywhere and she still had her sandals on. I begin putting the items away happy that she'd actually spend money. I knew it would take time to get her used to being able to buy things she wanted without second guessing. The hair and bathroom items I left in the bags in the bathroom to let her sort out. Then I gently remove her shoes and put her under the covers. She snores and nuzzles me as I move her causing me to smile. I was always happier with her and I found myself several times a day thanking the Moon goddess for blessing me with her. Finally I strip and curl up beside her holding her close to me chest as her wings wrap around me. I fall asleep listening to her snores and knowing she was safe and happy.

When I wake up however, I find myself alone in the bed. I sit up, looking around as I see the moon high in the sky. I glance at the clock realizing it's nearly eleven, meaning I'd slept nearly eight hours. The door opens slightly and I see Kai struggling with a bag and Tupperware containers. I jump up to help her and bring everything to the bed. "Did I wake you?" She asks kissing my lips softly. "No, I woke up looking for you." I admit. She laughs, "I woke up starving, I figured you'd be hungry too. Remind me to thank your mom and Sheila!" She holds up a note. "For Alpha and Luna,

No one else is to touch the blue Tupperware containers or they will here from us.

Sheila and Claire"

I laugh, "I'll remind you." I open the containers to find baked macaroni and fried chicken in two containers and red velvet cupcakes with chocolate and buttercream icing in another. Suddenly Kai begins to cry and I'm lost as I hold her close. "Shhh, what's wrong?" "My.. mom.. used.. to.." she trails off sobbing but I understand. "Your mom always made this for you?" She nods. "Shhh, we'll find them, I promise." I don't know how I'm going to keep that promise, but I have new determination to do it. Finally we finish eating and Kai falls back to sleep but I hold her my mind trying to figure s**t out. About two hours later, I'm still awake so rather than bother her, I go down to the gym before training. As I reach the grounds I recognize a pair of wings. "Kai?!"

Kaila's POV

I'd woken up in bed alone, and when I couldn't fall back to sleep, I'd made a decision. I would get as involved in pack life as I could, starting with training. I pulled on a black tank top, black yoga shorts and my black and pink running sneakers. As I pulled my hair into a messy ponytail, I ran downstairs bumping into Mike, Tyson, and Tyler. "Good morning!" I said as they left out the door. "Good morning, Luna!" They reply as Mike looks me over. "I'm guessing you want to join us." I nod, "I use to train with my parents, if there's ever a fight, I refuse to sit around doing nothing if I can help." As he explains the training regiment, I knew I may not be able to keep up today but I would put my best efforts in. Then I felt him before he showed up and as I bit my bottom lip, Tyson said, "You didn't tell alpha you were coming did you?" I shake my head as I hear, "Kai?!" I close my eyes for a second bracing myself before turning around. "Good morning baby." He shook his head and kissed me on my forehead, "Are you sure you want to do this?" He says quietly. I nod and he says, "Just don't overdo it. If you need to stop, no one here will judge you, I promise." I nod as two people show up, "Those are the head trainers, Mikey and Maddie." I nod and as we begin our run, I feel a weight lift off my shoulders. I stay in the middle of the pack, flanked by Mike and Tyson, the entire ten miles. The first five were easy, it had been the last five that had me panting as we ended. "Luna, you ok?" Mike whispers next to me. I nod as I catch my breath. "Ten miles is harder that I thought. I'll get used to it." The push ups and sit ups left me sore and as we set up to spar, I was catch off guard by Maddie calling out to me. Everyone was staring at me as Mike whispers, "She's not going to embarrass you, just show her what you can do." I nod as I walk over to her, I hear a growl behind me as everyone stops to watch us. I turn to look at him, rolling my eyes as his grow wide. I drop into a roll pushing myself just out of her reach as Maddie decides to sneak and attack me from behind. She lands hard on the ground, "Luna, you cannot be distracted by the Alpha during a battle. As annoying as it may be, Alpha she chose to be here, either let her train or make her go inside, you can't have it both ways." With that she pushes herself up and circles me. After about ten minutes of her pinning me down, I finally start figuring out her moves. I'm unable to take her down but it gets easier to break out of her moves until she pins me in one that literally stops my breath. I hear Luke growl at her but as my lungs begin to burn I suddenly teleport out of her reach and stumble in his arms. She lands on the ground as the move throw her off balance. I hear him growl at her again and I grab him. "I'm fine! I didn't expect that move and I got out of it fine. So chill out!" He looks at me and I see his eyes black as Sebastian is on the surface. "If I didn't have powers Luke I would have tapped out and she would have stopped. She's your head trainer, trust me she wasn't going to actually harm me." He growls again this time at me, "That was a dangerous move." He places his head against mine rubbing my chest. I get what he's asking and kiss his nose. "I'm fine babe." He nods and I turn back to Maddie who has been watching us. "Show me that move again. Is there a way out of it?" After tapping out four times, I finally decide I've had enough. I was determined to learn how to get out of that move, but even I knew my limits. As the others went on a run in wolf form, I headed back to the house. I head into the kitchen determined to find me a cup of coffee before I showered. Sheila looks at me and shakes her head, "You look like you just fought a wolf, Luna." I laugh, "We'll I trained today, so I technically did." She laughs and says, "The handy work of Maddie?" I nod fixing me a cup of coffee. I take a sip and moan slightly as Claire enters the kitchen. "Good morning everyone." I look around to see Keisha coming down the stairs. As they make their way over, the others return from their run. I shiver goes through me as I see Luke approach me. He's mad, it's coming off him in waves and I know we are going to argue. I take my cup of coffee and refill it before I excuse myself to head upstairs. I refuse to argue with him in front of the pack. Before I can make it out the kitchen however he calls out to me. "Kaila, we need to talk!" I nod, "I guess we do but I'm not doing this here." I place my cup down and as I'm heading up the stairs when he decides to yell at me in front of the house. "What the hell were you thinking?!?!? You could have be seriously hurt out there!!!" I sigh trying to keep my emotions in check. "Are you saying you don't trust your pack to protect me, or maybe it's your trainers, no wait, it's me you don't trust!! Is that it?! I got out the move just fine and I trusted Maddie with my life. I wasn't scared she'd hurt me, the move was very uncomfortable, but I never felt in danger. You trust the members of your pack so why can't you trust me?! I'm supposed to be YOUR EQUAL!!! Are you saying you trust me not to hurt you with magic, but I can't learn to defend myself if for whatever reason I need to fight without to use of my magic?!" At this point I'm shaking with anger and I see myself glowing but I can't seem to stop. He glares at me, "You are supposed to be my equal, so why would you put yourself in a situation to be hurt! I never said I didn't trust you or my pack. You are my mate my other half, I'd literally die if I lost you!! You could have told me you'd wanted to train, I would have worked with you myself." "You? You realize I joined training as a way to learn more about the pack I'm supposed to help you lead! How can I help if you keep acting like this?!?!?" At this point, my chest is killing me and I'm struggling with my breathing and controlling my magic. I continue upstairs as he says, "So you going to run away instead of talking to me?!" I don't respond because I no longer feel in control and rather than accidentally hurt someone I'd rather leave. I get upstairs and as soon as I enter my sanctuary, I scream releasing my magic into the room as my lungs finally give out. I fall to the floor gasping for air before I pass out.
