Chapter 5: Aurora gates... Let's go...

Ryo pov. . . . I ran my hands along the books reading the titles checking for nothing in particular, except anything that appeared odd. Anything that would look out of the ordinary. I wanted to confirm what that man had been telling me. I looked for over 2 hours, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Nothing seemed wrong... I grazed my thumb on the shelf, above the books. As I slid my finger, it dipped, 'click'. I had accidentally pressed a button and then mechanical sound was heard. I saw the bookshelf divide before my eyes and beyond it were steps cut out of stone leading into the ground. I contemplated going in, but decided against it since I wasn't sure of how I'd get out. I pressed the same button and the bookshelf slid back. I looked at it making sure I remembered where the button was. After a while I started to turn and then something touched my back. Turning around, my heart in my mouth, I stood to face the source of the touch. My face hardened -all my training for a moment like this- and I turned to look at what had tapped me. I didn't see anything. Relief and anxiety rushed over me simultaneously. I was relieved that I had not seen anything and worried about the source of the touch. Looking up my face still wearing a mask of confidence and self assurance I see a man hanging upside down from the roof, as if joined to the roof by a thread. "Welcome child" the man tensed. "What have you been opening?". His matted brown hair, rich and fine in contrast to his wrinkled, shriveled body. It seemed as though he had just appeared there so I lied. "Books" I kept a nonchalant straight face."This place is so boring I'd puke" I said making my voice sound convincing. Taking my time I took slow unhurried steps out of the hallway. I could feel the weight of his stare on my back. I walked out the bookstore. Keeping my facade till I got to my front door. Picking up the pace I hurriedly went inside. Rushing up the steps, I bumped into my mum. "Ouch Ryo. why are you running?". I didn't have time to waste, so I mumbled an apology and hurried up the steps. I opened the room door and locked it behind me. I shook it making sure it was firm. "I know you're there come out". A figure materialized in front of me. "I saw it, you old thing I saw the location, what you said wasn't a lie. I couldn't keep my excitement. If this worked out I would have a gift. No matter how small it was it would be something. I would transfer to another school alongside my sister. Ok I had a gift, but it's so rare systems can't detect them. Now I would be powerful and my parents would stop running around. They wouldn't be scared anymore. We would return to our homeland. "Mr Alvarõs, my figure roommate said. Aurora gates is the keyword to the gate in your temple. I got into my bathroom, taking steady steps. Staring hard at the mirror I felt warmth flow through my body and my eyes began to glow a faint blue. "Aurora gates" Looking into the mirror I saw beyond the shelf. "I'm going in" I said smiling. "My third dungeon to conquer". . . . Emily POV Rushing like a wind through the crowd of people on the street. Something bad was about to happen and I could feel it. I watched whether I was being tailed and when I saw nothing obvious. I carefully stepped into the dark alley finding the right house easily and slipped my spare keys into the hole. The door opened after a sharp twist of my key. I got inside and locked the door behind me quietly, quickly and carefully. I hung my coat and kept my bag on a table and walked steadily into a small room that had brief steps leading to the basement. Walking inside I saw the normal glasses and tube. All the scary stuff you could think of was here and I wasn't because I felt at home here. I looked carefully but my master wasn't here so I channeled essence into my senses and I sensed him. He was deep in the lab, so I walked in. "Emily... why are you here today?". "Master... something is wrong. I feel Ulic's aura stronger than before. He has found a medium. I am sure of it.". My master regarded me with a look and nodded at the information. It seems he already knows. He waited a while then he spoke. "I will assemble 4 Assassins to take out his medium. Stay from afar and watch. You and Rico will give them the readings and location. I only nodded at his words. I walked out of the basement and I saw four masked people and Rico. So fast. I never understand my master. They already had their orders. We were moving to the Twin gates. A dingy bookstore that looked dingy to keep threats away. No one would go there. Right? No, someone had gone there so we where going to take him/her out. You have your orders, let's move. If Ulic is released on the world. I fear the current world cannot survive it. He would resurrect his henchmen. He would continue his quest to rule the world. And if we can't stop him. I say. The world is already lost ... . . . _ _ _ _ _ _ Let's go...
