Chapter 9: Encounter?

" What could Wood have taken to damn his brain? Probably..." i shook my head at the thought.

While laughing at my stupid idea, I dressed quickly.

In no time I was already at his front door.

I rang the doorbell.

After a while Sara opened the door. She wore a green robe over her nightgown, probably see-through.

She led me to were Wood was.

"He wouldn't tell me anything". She started. "He keeps saying. 'No you are already dead' any time I get close to him".

What's this that she's saying?

I stood up.

" Hey buddy". I got close.

He looked up at me.

" D..Dylan... is that you?"

He was sitting on the bed his hands on his laps and he had puked on the floor.

'' They're dead. I don't know how that dead body got in he..." He didn't complete his sentence.

I looked in the direction he had pointed.

There was nothing there, but why did he stop. He shifted back a bit.

I looked over my shoulder at Sara. She hurriedly got a glass of water for him and a bowl to wipe his mess.

"I can swear I saw the mangled corpse of the new boy in my class on the floor there" He said once we were alone in the room.

" I have been seeing some figures around for a while, but I thought I was hallucinating, so I started taking pills to help with it, but after a while the pills stopped working, so I quit them. Then I stopped seeing them for a while, t...the figures stopped appearing for a while and started again, this time more intense, so I started inviting Sara over to my house.

I wasn't concerned that much anymore, but this night. I went out for a walk. it felt like I was being watched and followed, so I decided to go home. On reaching home. I hadn't taken a few steps when I heard Sara screaming. No it sounded more like Losa's voice, but I assumed it was Sara because that was the only person with me in the house. But when I got into the room, I saw something really disgusting.

His mangled corpse, that is the new boy in class. I saw his corpse. it even reeked like he has been dead for some time.

I turned and saw Sara on the floor dead with a knife in her back, probably piercing her heart". My phone was on record. Thankfully, because I needed time to process what he had just said.

" but you can't see them anymore?'' I asked. He nodded slowly then got up.

Sara arrived with the bowl and rag and water.

'' Don't worry Sara, I'll clean it" he said.

He took the rag, bent down and wiped the mess. After that he mopped the floor and then turned to us. Let's head to the kitchen shall we. I feel the need for a midnight snack"

Especially after vomiting everything from your bowels man...

My master has left me in charge of the gate bed she left to see her friends. She asked me to send the Assassination Strike teams in. You know. Ulic wasn't too good in terms of close combat, but in long range he was good and had insane reflexes he was born with but never utilized. I was his classmate so I know what I am saying.

compared to my master, I and Ulic are mere children. She had experienced much more devastating monstrosities.

Ulic only even devastated the ordinary mages of the ordinary humans. Never the superhumans. Once we stepped in Ulic was captured and captivated in a week but he has done something to make him insanely powerful. Even for us during that one week and could only be left to rot since he couldn't die. He was caged and locked with a restriction device. The key of the device was melted and he was left there. The only way he would escape torment was if a deal was made.

A deal that had been made so he had escaped. He would be dangerous but could be restrained. The problem wasn't that he would destroy everywhere just like these humans thought. The problem was that we had been here and the gate was breached by an ordinary human, not even a powerful mage. We were supposed to sense it.

So we would all loose our post unless it was found out that another super human was involved in this. And not any ordinary super human, but one in the high echelons of power

If someone could breach Ulic, they could breach other tombs. "That would be bad. These strike teams. Won't stand a chance against someone as mighty as Balfaza". I could feel the rush of power from the aura of Ulic. He was upon us. I can handle him I told myself. I was suddenly worried about facing him alone. Ok not every thing I said was true, Ulic was and is a menace. He even tormented super humans. He only went down because his mother convinced him to poison himself so he would stop attacking people, I wonder why. He didn't have any berserker attributes when younger. "Damn, what was I thinking. I can't go one on one against this monster". Bracing myself for impact I reached for the SOUL CUTTER, my weapon. "He's coming in hot" I heard a voice from behind me say. It was the leader one of the strike teams that recently arrived. I sensed over twenty strikers behind me. Only then did I feel a little confident. " Few seconds till confrontation" I heard him say again.

We didn't need anyone to tell us he was in the room. His aura was insane. it was beautiful. It was like he was an angel. Pure essence flowed out him like a river. My heart swelled with fear. Despite the numbers we were outmatched, but then just like it came like a rushing wind. It was out in seconds. It was only then I realized I had been holding my breath.

"He's gone" someone shouted. "He's gone?". We didn't even see anything. I was trying to ponder when I felt a different signature inside the tomb. The door was now open so we could go in and check, but what about Ulic? Should we follow him. I was confused. " Ok gather round...". To cut the story short, I splitted us in two teams.

The first team was to go up and investigate where Ulic was headed and the second team was to investigate the tomb. I had to go be with the team tailing Ulic. He hadn't gone too far we would tail him. Capture if possibile now that he hadn't had access to his powers.
