Blurb

The city lights blurred together like diamonds on velvet as Hannah gazed out the hospital window, her heart heavy with the weight of her mother's diagnosis. The words "heart cancer" echoed in her mind like a death sentence. The medical bills piled high, a constant reminder of the impossible task ahead.

In a desperate bid to escape the suffocating worry, Hannah let Mia drag her to the club, where the pulsating music and anonymous crowd promised a fleeting reprieve. But the darkness within her lingered, a constant companion she couldn't shake.

That's when she saw him – a stranger with piercing eyes that seemed to hold a secret, a spark that ignited a forbidden attraction. One night, one mistake, one unforgettable encounter.

And then, like a whisper in the wind, he vanished.

But the consequences of their collision lingered, a ticking time bomb waiting to shatter Hannah's fragile world. A proposal was taking shape, one that would bind them together in a web of duty, desire, and deception.

The question was, would Hannah be able to resist the temptation, or would she surrender to the allure of a contract that promised to save her mother's life, but at a steep price – her own happiness?

Hannah stumbled into the apartment, her eyes red from crying. Mia looked up from her phone, concern etched on her face. "Hey, girl, how are you feeling?" Mia asked, setting her phone aside. Hannah collapsed onto the couch, burying her face in a pillow. "I'm such an i***t, Mia." Mia rushed to her side, stroking her hair. "What happened? You were fine when we left the club, and then you just vanished." Hannah lifted her head, tears streaming down her face. "I had a one-night stand, Mia. I don't even know his name." Mia's expression softened. "Oh, Hannah, I'm so sorry. You're not an i***t, you're just hurting. We all make mistakes." "I feel so guilty, Mia. My mom is dying, and I'm out there acting like a reckless teenager," Hannah said, her voice shaking. Mia pulled her into a hug. "You're not alone, Hannah. We'll get through this together. And as for your mom, we'll find a way to save her. I promise." Hannah nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over her. "I'm going to do whatever it takes to save her, Mia. I won't give up."
