Chapter 40Thomas had the day off and what a horrible day it was, the icy rain fell in a deluge and the wind was gale force. Thomas didn't take holidays but his boss told him that he had to start taking days off because he was entitled to twenty six days of holidays a year. He was reluctant at first because he liked his job and, apart from his colleague Alan, there was nobody he spent time with. He'd planned to drive to the beach that day but he hadn't expected the atrocious weather so instead he got into the van and drove to the cinema complex at Springfield Quay. He'd watched two movies and had his lunch and now he was driving home.
