“Don’t worry she’ll wake up she just needs time with the silver to fully exit her system.” Rebecca’s voice cracks “We just got her back and now....we may lose her all over again.” “Rebecca look at me....she will not die I can feel her, ok?” Another groan comes from me as my face slightly contorts from the pain. Rebecca gasps “Her hand!....Jase she moved her fingers.” The next thing I hear is two people storming into the room out of breath. The man speaks between breaths “Has....she....moved...Beta?” Jase and Rebecca speaks in unison “YES!”

I can hear the man walk to my side with some what stable breathing “Alpha I’m doctor Kurt if you can hear me I want you to try and open your eyes, ok?” I fight against the pain as I try harder to open my eyes. I refuse to accept anything other than me opening my eyes so I keep on solely focused on my goal. My eyes flutter open as I groan once again attempting to smirk in my achievement which is short lived as my blurry sight goes to s**t passing out. My parents voices enfold me while I drift further into the dark abyss. Mother’s angelic voice peacefully lulls me as I listen “It’s ok sweetie you have a family who needs you to wake up and don’t worry love we will be here watching over you waiting til the day to be reunited.” My heart clenches as father’s voice softly echos with the images of my last haunting memory of his last living moment “Babydoll I need you to open those gorgeous eyes for me I also need my little princess to become the Queen you were born to be and don’t you come back until you’ve lived your life to the fullest which includes blessing us with grandchildren.”

Tears stream down my face with so many warring emotions causing my voice to crack “What if i f..fail everyone?” The darkness fades as my surroundings brighten forming an all to familiar pasture with tall grass, breathtaking flowers surrounding a beautiful wooden cabin. I make a hundred and eighty degree turn taking in all of my surroundings like the astonishing evening hue the sun leaves as orange, purple, and an golden yellow, among other colors dances across the sky. I freeze as my eyes land back on the cabin with an open door as two figures emerges from it. I subconsciously glide my hand gently over the tall grass slowly venturing closer to the two figures patently waiting for me. More tears fall from my face coming to a stop in front of my parents smiling. Mother places a hand caressing a cheek while father places one of his hands on the opposite side on my shoulder. My voice is just above a whisper “Why me?”

Both of their expressions softened by my loaded question. Mother speaks first then father fallows after “Oh my dear child it’s because you are meant to do great things and because I sacrificed my life so yours could go on.” “Babydoll you are our greatest gift our greatest achievement in life but now we must pass our burdens to you as well wether we want to or not because you my little girl will surpass me along with every Alpha of the Eclipse Pack before you you will become the Packs most treasured and most greatest gift now be the woman we know you are.” I hug my parents for a couple of minutes cherishing the moment pulling back gaping at my own realization eyeing my parents mirrored confused looks sharing a quick glance between the two before asking me if I was ok. He’s dead.....I.....I killed him. My hands shoot to my mouth covering it gasping in horror taking a step back as every nightmare I lived throughout in my life crashes on to me. I fall to my knees as I sob covering my face getting a word out after each breath “I......was.........rapped.......and.........my...........pup.........died.”

My mind floods with negative thoughts “Oh Goddess Jase isn’t going to want me now!” My parents kneel embracing me as their tears reach me. Father looks at me with such hurt and sham "I failed you when your mother passed and for that i am eternally sorry but I refuse to fail you through death as well so know that your pup is here with us waiting to be reunited with you and bears no ill will, sweetheart." My sobs get louder "What is my pup like?" I feel mother tighten her embrace around me answering my question "Precious just like you my child, and Jase will not reject you for something you couldn't control." The moon goddess's voice comes from behind me "It is time child." I tighten my embrace around my parents with my final parting "Til I return someday."

Everything disappears before me going dark than out of now where I feel like I am being pushed back into my body. I shoot up sitting gasping for air gripping my chest with my right hand and holding Jase's with the left. Jase's head springs up from laying down shinning with joy and unshed tears "Your awake my love." Tears slide down my cheeks as I embrace Jase in a tight bear huge "I love you Jase." I feel Jase huge me in response answering me back "I love you too Leigh." We release each other staring into each others eyes for what seems like eternity. Our intimate moment is broken by the door slamming open followed by people swarming in the room.

First entered my friends Rebecca and her brother Alex followed by a nurse, a doctor, than the pack council. Rebecca runs to me with red eyes and tear stained cheeks practically knocking me back into my bed. I reciprocate with a gentle hug speaking soothingly to her “It’s ok everything will be ok now.” Rebecca’s hug tightens even further, barring her face in my neck, releasing silent sobs “I thought we’d lost you.” I push her so she is face to face with me “I’m not gonna lie but so did I there for a moment.” Alex clears his throat as he steps up behind Rebecca “Come little sister I’m sure there will be plenty of time for this but sadly now is not the time.” Rebecca sighs in defeat knowing Alex is right then gives me a reassuring squeeze on the arm before standing and moving to join the half circle created by the pack council.

I inhaled a deep breath knowing my battle had only just begun. They didn’t even give me the chance to fully exhale when the first round of bisais bill s**t aired. The man closest to the wall standing virtually behind Jase started off “You are a woman and since you have found your mate the first matter should be to arrange a mating ceremony and coronation.” I shot up from my bed releasing a dangerous growl “You question me as your Alpha on the fact of my gender?!” Well there went my plan to remain calm. Council member 1 attempted to shield his fear as he dared to defy me “Women are not meant to be leaders of a Pack.” Rose jumped in at that moment “Oh hell no this mutt didn’t!”

My eyes shift revealing Rose had taken control and in a split second I had the man dangling off the floor from my hand. His face began to turn blue as I tightened my grip around his throat. “Defy me again mutt and I’ll show you what a woman can do.” I release him and watch him crumble to the floor holding his throat gasping for air with his original tint returning. I walk towards the center of the half circle folding my arms over my bosoms steering each individual council member down enforcing my dominance. The men reluctantly bowed their heads. The man near the middle of the half circle spoke next “Alpha may I speak freely?” I ask Rose mentally “So I know your front seat but what do you think?”

My eyes narrowed on the man as she responded mentally “If he challenges us I’ll rip his head from his neck.” “Just give him a chance for now, ok?” I could tell Rose was irritated with us being questioned at leaders “Fine.” Rose smiles deviously exposing her sharp teeth “Sure.” I mentally palm my face retorting “Seriously Rose it’s not like we’re being scrutinized enough.” Rose mentally rolls her eyes “Perhaps they shouldn’t challenge us then.” I shake my head mentally “I honestly don’t know which is worse between you and your dominance or a male and their dominance.”

Rose’s irritation amplifies “Hey take that back!” “Why should I when it’s the truth?” “They challenged you too and all I did was assert our dominance, that's all.” “Rose you're literally inflicting fear when that’s not how we should lead whether or not we’re defied.” Rose sighs “Ok you're right but I still don’t like to be challenged.” I smile “Nor do I but we do have to maintain a level of control.” Rose closes her eyes inhaling a deep breath “Ok Leigh but I’ll still be ready if need be.”

I smile once again then open my eyes “Thank you.” I didn’t notice the man’s color drained from his face when Rose dared him. My smile fades as I get serious “It’s ok you may proceed.” The man hesitantly continues “Well my personal concern is if tradition is to be broken w…what exactly are we to expect from you?” I step up to the man who flinches and I extend a hand. The man cautiously takes my hand in his glancing back into my eyes as I respond “I expect your trust and loyalty to me as well as this pack and in return I’ll give my all to this pack.” The man's fear turns to admiration as he shakes my hand then kneels on one knee “I acknowledge you as my Alpha and will be loyal to you.”

Jase takes my hand and squeezes it assuringly breaking me from my trance “It’s time for change and to move on from the harsh past and construct a brighter future for the pups after us.” I glance around the room “This is my Oath as your Alpha.” Everyone around us kneels in unison barring their necks at Jase and me. They rise at the same time as well then the doctor and nurse walks up to me “Alpha it’s time for your check up so if you don’t mind getting back in bed.” The nurse turns and addresses the council “If y’all will step out of the room please.” Rebecca and Alex bow their heads before following the others out. The doctor and nurse then proceeded to evaluate me finally giving me the thumbs up to leave the medical ward one the condition that I’d get some rest before stepping up as Alpha.
