Chapter 17 - Ace

I led Melody out of the dining room before my parents could say anything else to embarrass her. I could feel her relief as we made our way towards the back of the house where it was quieter and we could have a proper conversation. I was so relieved to get her to myself that I didn’t notice the woman coming up behind us until it was too late for us to escape.

“Ace! It’s been so long, have you missed me?” My ex-girlfriend called as she stepped up behind me. I tried to step away from her but I wasn’t quick enough to stop her from pulling me into a tight hug.

Melody inhaled sharply and I felt a sharp pain come from her end of the bond, she was worried about my interest in the woman who was hugging me but she had nothing to worry about. At one point in time, I thought that Rosie was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen although now I had met Melody I didn’t know what I had seen in her. She wore a lot of makeup and expensive clothes but she didn’t have any of the natural beauty Melody had.

I mumbled something incoherent and pulled myself out of Rosie’s arms before pulling Melody against my body and pressing my lips against her cheek. I could feel her resistance as she tried to maintain some distance between us. However my affectionate embrace combined with the pull of the bond was enough to make her melt against me within a few seconds.

“The last time I saw you was when you broke up with me the day before you left for college. That must have been around three years ago now.” She fluttered her long fake eyelashes at me while leaning forward to give me a view of her chest.

Melody whimpered and tried to pull herself from my embrace. At that moment I wanted to kill Rosie, there was no way she didn’t know the effect her actions would have on my mate. She had met her own mate months ago, I wonder how she would feel if someone spoke to her mate the way she had just spoken to me.

“That is ancient history, now let me introduce you to your Luna and the love of my life.” I purred without removing my face from Melody’s neck.

“I can’t believe you met your Luna. I thought that after me you wouldn’t ever be able to stay faithful to another woman. The last thing I heard, you were sleeping your way through the entire female population of your campus.” Rosie said, giggling slightly as she spoke. She seemed to be enjoying Melody’s discomfort, I would make her pay for that.

“Maybe I should leave and let you two catch up,” Melody replied. All of her muscles were tense and she was still trying to wriggle free from my arms.

“Oh would you mind terribly, we have so much we have to catch up on.” Rosie fluttered her fake eyelashes at me again in the way she often used to when we were dating and she wanted something from me.

“No Rosie. I have absolutely nothing to speak to you about and if you keep acting in such a disrespectful manner towards your Luna then I will have to tell my father about this.” I growled.

“I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I just thought you might want to speak to me alone, after all, we were together for so long.” Rosie held her hand up to her chest and tried to make herself look offended. Now I was looking at her objectively rather than thinking with my c**k I could see how fake she was. I couldn’t believe that I had ever fallen for her act. I clutched my mate tighter and balled my free hand into a fist by my side.

“Rosie sweetheart, what are you doing? I have been looking all over for you.” A man shouted as he strode across the room and pulled Rosie into his arms. I recognised him as Rosie’s mate from the pictures on her social media posts. From what I could gather from the virtual stalking I had done, he was an unranked member of another pack who she had met a while back while visiting nearby packs in search of her mate.

“I was just talking to my future Alpha about old times.”

“The future Alpha who you used to date,” Rosie’s mate growled. As an unranked pack member, he knew better than to direct his growl towards me but it was clear that he was struggling to keep his anger in check.

“I was just telling her that I didn’t think it was appropriate for us to talk alone now that we are both happily mated to other people,” I told him while running my nose along Melody’s jaw. She was still uncomfortable in my arms although she wasn’t actively trying to pull herself away from me any more so I was going to take that as a win.

“That is fine by me unless you don’t want to speak to her because you still have feelings for each other,” Melody said before turning her face away from me.

“No Luna, you are the only woman I have any feelings for.”

Before she could object any further, I pulled her against my body and pressed my lips against hers. I ran my fingers through her hair before deepening our kiss, I could feel Melody’s desire rising and the scent of her arousal was wrapping around me. I nibbled her bottom lip while dropping my hand from her waist so I could squeeze her ass.

“Ace,” Melody complained as she tried to break away from me. “We can’t do this here, anyone could see us.”

“That is the idea. You are the hottest woman I have ever met and I want everyone to know what you do to me.”

I allowed my hands to slowly trail over her body while I placed deep kisses on her neck. I didn’t care who saw us together, I would claim her and knot her right here if she let me. The whole pack could watch me worshipping my Luna’s body if they wanted, if they didn’t want to see then they could always leave.

“What do you need Luna.” I let my teeth scratch over her mark causing her to moan and pull me closer. She was close to dropping all of her hesitation and doubt, I could feel it and it was blissful.

“Can we go somewhere a little more private?” The desperation in her voice made me chuckle.

“What would you do if I told you I couldn’t wait? Would you let me pleasure you here?” Melody shook her head and took a step backwards, her insecurity hitting me like a ton of bricks. I hated the way it made me feel knowing that I had caused her to feel that way but I had an idea of how I could help break down some of her insecurities. I took hold of her hips firmly and pushed her backwards a few steps till we were in the corner of the hallway where we wouldn’t be as easily observed by the rest of the pack.

“I’m sorry, I can’t wait any longer.”

I spun her around so that my back was against the corner then got down on my knees in front of her. I pulled one of her legs over my shoulder so that her skirt fell over my head and kissed the inside of her thigh before slowly licking my way up towards her core. Melody whimpered and reached out to brace herself against the wall but she was no longer trying to push me away or make me stop.

The only person who was still looking in our direction was Rosie. Her mate had pulled her into the next room but she was still looking over in my direction with an angry look on her face. I don’t know what she had expected to happen when she tried to undermine my mate in front of me but I didn’t give a s**t about her opinions of me. If she tried anything like that again then she would pay a heavy price.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe I let you do that, anyone could have seen us,” Melody said, hiding her face against my shoulder.

“Don’t worry Luna, nobody could see anything but now you know what will happen to you if you doubt my desire for you. Every time you even so much as suggest that you are not attractive, I will prove just how irresistible I find you.”
