Reversing Causality 2

2308 Words
When Julius woke up the next day, he made sure that his wife was okay before heading out with Arianrhod. He had lost a lot of fiends during the battle between the Church’s scouting force and his attack on Redgrove City. When Arianrhod arrived at the scene where the battle with the church took place, she immediately began working. After a night’s rest, she was recharged and ready to work. Healing a high-ranked fiend like Eisha took a toll on her body, but reviving lower-ranked fiends wasn’t a problem. Julius was fascinated with her ability that allowed what seemed to be a reversal of time.  [Correction: Hero Unit Arianrhod’s ability [Cause and Effect] work in tandem with her [Weaving]. She does not reverse time but negates the cause which leads to the effect and weaves it so that it does not happen. Put together, the ability is a unique addition called [Reverse Causality].] “She negates the cause and effect so the injury or death appears as if it never even happened…” [Correct] Julius thought long and hard whether he wanted such a skill. It was quite the convenient one [Reverse Causality], but he needed to copy two skills and use them simultaneously to achieve the intended effect.  That meant he needed to master both skills for it to be of use to him in the middle of the battlefield. He wasn’t Arianrhod who was of the Weaver class so she could instinctively use them as she pleased and only needed to improve her proficiency. The system showed Julius 2 types of skills, one would be the acquired skills while the other would be the innate skills. The additions on Julius’s status screens were the innate skills while the skill list was the listed skills they acquired through training or evolution. His [Creation EX] was an innate skill as well as an acquired skill. The reason was that he only became aware of his innate skill after the system appeared. Although it was innate, Julius still needed the system’s assistance to help him execute the skill. He knew how to use the skill but it was hard without the system’s assistance. The reason behind this remained unknown to Julius and the system couldn’t find an answer to the question. There were still many locks behind the skill and Julius couldn’t use every option he had on [Creation EX] so this could be the cause. This was Julius’s current hypothesis but he couldn’t be certain about it. The additional skills he acquired through [Creation EX] would randomly be unlocked after he fulfilled some obscure conditions such as creating certain buildings, spawning specific units, and leveling up. He couldn’t use everything his skill had to offer from the get-go unlike Eisha and Arianrhod as well as his other fiends. He didn’t know if the system was biased against him or whether it was because he was the progenitor and because of it his situation was unique. Julius had to think twice whether he wanted to use up two of his precious Creation skill slots on the skills or not. It would have been better if it was just that one skill, the [Reverse Causality], so he wouldn’t have to debate on it. “I wonder if I should…?” He was more worried about the skill slots than the skill mastery. Julius didn’t need to worry about that because he had his addition, [Parallel Thought]. With the skill, Julius was able to figuratively multiply his brain so that he would be able to think within 2-3 different instances at the same time. 2-3 instances were his current limit because any more would put too much strain on his body. Other than his main instance, the 2 or 3 other instances were normally always working, always processing the information he received from his fiends, meditating, and cultivating for his personal quest. Also, there was always one instance of his mind connected to Proto so when his doppelganger died, he felt what it was like to die as well. It was not a really pleasant feeling since that instance of his mind felt Proto’s fear and unwillingness. It left a bad taste in his mouth when all of that feedback came pouring into his head. He gripped his teeth and looked down at the small homunculus before him. “...You’re back…” “Yes, my Lord...Is the Queen alright?” “She’s had it better than you at least...You can go meet with her in the Second Sanctum. Next time―” “There won’t be a next time,” Proto cut off. “Next time, I’ll make sure to kill anyone that harms her.” “...” Julius was reminded that Proto’s consciousness was the same as his but at the same time, wasn’t his. He felt Proto’s fear and unwillingness, but besides that, there was also rage and hate. They were the same people, but Julius felt like the consciousness that he planted within Proto which had merged with the one that the system had planted inside him when he was first created had become something else. “You sure work fast...good job.”  Julius walked over to Arianrhod who was looking around anxiously to see if there was any other fiend that needed revival. He patted her head and it stopped the woman from fidgeting. “D-Did I do a good job?” Arianrhod had a rather fearful expression on her face when she asked this. Julius tilted her head in wonder but remembered that he had treated her harshly yesterday. She had just spawned and nearly died by her master’s own hands. “You don’t need to be fearful, Aria. You’ll live a much better life now that you’re a fiend. You no longer need to live underneath the cold, dark earth…” “...” Aria nodded slightly but she was still a little bit afraid. Her lord’s large hand which was on her head could easily crush her skull into paste within seconds. Julius felt her fear and the thoughts within her head so he took his hand off before saying, “There’s no need to fear me. Go back with Proto and tend to my wife.” “Y-Yes, Master.” Julius assigned a few fiends to go with Aria. She needed some protection because she was still level 1. Any random monster within the Shifting Hallows could easily kill her. He took off in the next instant and flew to Redgrove City. ***** Back at the Second Sanctum, Eisha was shocked awake from her sleep after experiencing a nightmare. She couldn’t easily forget the way she nearly died just yesterday.  She rubbed her arms and neck fearfully before inhaling a sharp breath to calm her mind. “W-Where’s Julius?” She was rather vulnerable right now and she really needed him to be here. Julius was able to immediately feel Eisha’s thoughts so he made a beeline back to the Second Sanctum. He had gotten used to flying so not too long after, Julius was able to arrive next to Eisha's side.  “My Love?” “J-Julius?” Eisha was startled but she quickly jumped out of the Fiend’s Cradle and dove into her husband’s arms. Yesterday after her revival from near-death, she was too exhausted so the fear and trauma didn’t register in her mind yet. Now that she was feeling rather healthy, the traumatic experience of being on the edge of death’s scythe for the second time was finally kicking in. “...It’s okay...” Julius picked her up and began soothing her. He returned to the cradle and coddled her. A few moments later, Aria and Proto walked into the cave. It was technically Aria’s home and bed but seeing that her master and his wife were both cuddling on the cradle, she decided to quickly leave the cave. Proto, however, continued to walk over to the cradle and proceeded to climb on it. Once she felt the familiar presence, Eisha quickly looked behind her and saw the small Proto kneeling before her. “Proto! You’re alright!” “Aria revived him,” Julius quickly said. “Eisha will thank her later…” “Mhm.” Eisha reached out to Proto and the homunculus quickly moved over to her. She pulled him into her embrace and smothered him in between her breasts before reaching for Julius.  “...Eisha nearly died yesterday…” Julius nodded and didn’t say anything, “...” “This is the second time Prince saved Eisha...” “I’m your husband. It’s only natural that I save you.” “Mhm...thank you, honey,” Eisha gave Julius a peck on his cheek before she placed her head on his wide chest.  “...Why are you still in your Metamorphosis form, Honey?” She suddenly asked, wondering why Julius didn’t revert back yet. “I don’t know...after I changed yesterday, I can’t seem to turn back…Maybe it’ll wear off in a few more hours.” They went silent for a few seconds before Eisha spoke up again. “Sorry, Eisha couldn’t fulfill Eisha’s task.” Julius combed his large fingers through her hair and replied, “Don’t be sorry. You did great. Those humans did something underhanded. If it wasn’t because of that, you wouldn’t have lost.” “Mhm...Also, Eisha already leveled up!” [Status Name: Eisha de Ephalerith Race: Fiend  Class: Matriarch Level: 50 (0/50000) STR: 100 (A+) AGI: 100 (A+) INT: 120 (S) Skills: [Blink E], [Charm D], [Frenzy S], [Fiend’s Eye S], [Spawn Fiendling EX] Additions: [Fiend’s Zeal], [Metamorphosis], [Soma Wellspring], [Growth Enhancement] Condition: Healthy, Slightly Lethargic      ] There was something very different about her alright, and it wasn’t just her body. There were a few new skills she gained after reaching level 50, not to mention that her class changed as well. “Matriarch...and you’ve gained a few new skills.” “Yes, and Eisha’s body changed quite a bit as well…” Eisha lifted up and showed Julius what seemed to be the husk of some creature’s skin. When he finally noticed the familiar presence from it, he was quite surprised that the husk was actually from his wife. “Is this...your skin?” “Y-Yes...this is Eisha’s skin…” Eisha blushed when she said this. She didn’t know why but it was embarrassing to admit it. “Did evolution change your body?” “Yeah…” When Julius inspected her a little bit more carefully, he noticed that Eisha’s body had really changed. Her skin appeared to be a lot smoother and healthier while her body was a little bit taller and fuller but her body was quite fit with faint traces of muscles on her arms, legs, and stomach.  With the growth and change of her body, Eisha assets also became more appealing. Her perky large breasts had grown by a cup or two while her ass was plumper than before. Her body curved in just the right places and Julius couldn’t help but reach out and feel her up. His large hands moving across her body caused Eisha to bite her lower lips in anticipation. “...Your breasts got bigger?” “Is that the only thing Julius noticed?!”  Eisha had an angry look on her face when Julius blurted that out. Julius gently grabbed her chin and inspected his wife’s face. Indeed, just like the rest of her body that grew more beautiful, her face did as well. “...What?” “Other than this change, does your body feel strange?” “No? Eisha feels perfectly normal,” Eisha replied. She hummed a little bit before looking down and saying “But there’s something Eisha’s a little worried about…” “Hm?” Julius followed her gaze down and saw that Proto was currently helping himself to one of Eisha’s breasts and sucking something out of her n*****s. “S-Sweetie, no need to rush, okay? Drink slowly or you’ll choke!” Eisha said while stroking Proto’s head. Julius remembered his mother saying the same thing to him when he was still an infant. Now, recalling memories from that far down was an easy feat for him. Julius soon found out why Eisha was lactating all of a sudden and it turned out the cause was her new addition. [Addition  Soma Wellspring Produces rejuvenating milk that energizes and enhances living organisms. Lactation only occurs in a state of arousal.] [Alert: The Matriarch, Eisha, can now provide a stable source of energy and experience points.] Julius didn’t know what to say to that system alert. However, even if it wasn’t because of the alert, he still had a slightly devious smile on his face. “Honey...what’s with that smile?” Eisha asked suspiciously.  “Hehe...I wonder why~” Julius smiled at his wife before pouncing on her. “H-Honey!”
