Propagation Plan 2

Just as the thugs were about to tie up Erika, the front door was suddenly smashed open. The door flew and hit one of the thugs nearby and slammed him into the wall. The thug fell to the floor bloodied and unconscious. When the thugs saw the man that had knocked the door down, they didn’t move to do anything at first since they were all surprised. It took a moment before the thugs regained their wits as the ‘elder brother’ immediately roared, “Who is this fucker?!” “Big bro, let’s kill him! He’s just one guy!” The thugs had maybe forgotten about the fact that this one guy had pulverized the door and sent it flying to one of their own, incapacitating the grown man with his condition unknown. There were 8 people in total and the mimic scanned every one of them.  “Targets locked. One dead, seven remaining.” “What?” “The hell is this guy saying?” “Quickly kill this bastard! Po, check on Norman!” “Y-Yes!” Besides the one called Po, the leader, and the one holding down Erika, the rest of the thugs menacingly walked towards the mimic as they took out their weapons. Bats, iron clubs, and even daggers. They looked menacing to the average person, but judging from how they carried themselves, these people were just your average joe with no training whatsoever. The mimic didn’t even pay attention to them but turned towards Erika who was on the ground and asked, “Did you ask for help?” “!” “Look at this bastard!” “Yes, please help me! Please help my mom!” “Granted.” “Kill him!” “Rahh!!” The thugs, with their weapons in hand, rushed together at the mimic but it didn’t even take a second before 4 tentacles gruesomely pierced through their bodies. “Holy s**t!” The one holding down Erika quickly jumped back and pulled out the crossbow on his back.  When he saw his little brothers killed by this man-looking monster, the leader roared and began chanting a spell, “You f**k! Flames of rage, burn for me! [Immolate]!” This was unexpected so Julius’s mimic quickly caught on fire and began burning. The spell [Immolate] was a spontaneous activation spell that burned a target that was close enough to the caster. It wasn’t a strong spell but it did give enough time for the leader and the remaining thug to retaliate against the mimic. The one with the crossbow immediately fired an enchanted arrow at the mimic while the leader pulled out the short sword at his waist and moved in. After the arrow struck, it exploded and the leader rushed in to deliver two cuts to the mimic.  “Po, how’s Norman?!” “H-He’s dead!” “Dammit!” The one named Po quickly got up and picked up a club from one of the dead members of his gang and in anger, he rushed forward and was about to bring it down on the mimic’s head who had already fallen but suddenly, a tentacle shot out from the mimic’s body and pierced through the thug’s abdomen. “Uh…” Po looked down and saw the fleshy thing that was pierced into him. He looked at his leader before dying on the spot as his life essence was being sucked away. “What the hell? This guy’s not dead?” The thug leader exclaimed in shock when he saw the weird attack. He had delivered two fatal strikes, attacking the man’s heart and head. The arrow from the only remaining brother of his that was still alive had even struck the intruder’s head before it exploded. There was no way someone was able to survive from something like that. At least, if you weren’t a fiend. When he was attacked earlier, Julius’s mimic was caught off guard and was struck successively by the enemies’ fatal attacks. However, his tentacles were still pierced through the 4 thugs from earlier and he was constantly sucking out their life essence to repair himself. Killing the fifth one was unnecessary but it did serve to catch the other 2 off guard. The mimic swept out with his other tentacles and smashed the leader away. The leader appeared to be trained so he was able to parry the tentacle with his short sword before he was smashed away. He was flying straight towards Eiri but he suddenly stopped mid-air before he was suddenly yanked back to the mimic.  “Big brother! You monster, die!” The remaining thug that was still alive quickly loaded another bolt onto his crossbow and was about to shoot but was suddenly knocked down by Erika who had just got up off the floor. “You b***h!” “AH!” The thug punched the woman away from him and was quickly raised his crossbow to aim but when he looked up, he saw a tentacle only a few inches away from his face. “...Ah fu―” The tentacle pierced cleanly through the man’s head and pulled it off of his shoulders. Erika saw this gruesome scene in front of her but didn’t even flinch. She just got up slowly and spat on the man’s corpse before quickly making her way to her mother. “Mom! A-Are you okay?”  Her mother was weak and the way the thugs handled her earlier took a toll on her body. Since the mimic walked in, Eiri had just been tossed aside by the leader who had already partially ripped away half of her clothing. Her body was feeble so she couldn’t even resist and when she fell to the floor, she was immediately knocked out cold. Julius’s mimic stepped forward and asked Erika, “Mission complete. Do you need assistance?” “Y-yes! My mother...please help my mother!” The mimic looked down at Eiri and scanned her body before saying, “Scan complete. This woman is extremely malnourished with a few contusions on her wrist, chest, and abdomen areas.” “O-Okay…?” Erika couldn’t understand a single word the mimic said except that her mother was most likely injured. “Can you help her?” “Possible. Will you allow me to assist?” “Yes!” The mimic raised his hand and it began transforming into 2 tentacles that swept towards the 2 thugs’ bodies that it hadn’t had their life essences sucked away yet. After they pierced into their bodies, the mimic’s other hand transformed into a tentacle that entered deep into Eiri’s mouth. Erika didn’t seem afraid of seeing the mimic’s transformation and just stared intently at her mother. The tentacle had reached down Eiri’s esophagus and its size had adjusted so that it wouldn’t harm her, it reached down to her stomach before the mimic began sucking out the life essence of the two thugs and transferred them to the feeble woman in Erika’s embrace. When the tentacle had entered deep into her mouth, Eiri had been shocked awake and started struggling at first but after seeing her daughter, she soon relaxed. The thing inside her mouth was uncomfortable at first but after the adjustment, she felt nothing. It was only until the mimic started pumping the life essence of the two thugs into her did she feel the tentacle inside her start pulsing as something was poured directly into her stomach. It lasted for a while before the mimic was finished. It retracted its tentacles and stood up after giving its assistance. “Mother?” “I-I’m alright, Erika…” Eiri slowly stood up before turning towards the mimic and said, “Thank you.” “Would you like further assistance?” The mimic asked after nodding at her gratitude. “Further assistance?” “I can take you to a place where you won’t have to suffer. To restart and build a new life.” “...” Eiri didn’t answer but Erika quickly replied, “Yes!” “Erika?” “Mom, we should go!” “...But...” “But what? There’s nothing left for us here! Grandpa and granny both passed away and it’s only us now! I heard what those thugs wanted us for. They want us to w***e ourselves for them! If we stay here, more will just come for us!” “...We don’t even know this man…” “My name is Kut-El and I am a fiend.” The mimic named Kut-El directly announced who and what he was. His mission was to take these two back with him so it didn’t matter if they knew his race or not. However, Julius wanted to be polite about things despite the already determined outcome. “Then, Kut-El, this place you are bringing us to...are we safe there?” Erika asked. “Yes, you will no longer be targeted by these people. There, you will be safe. You will be happy.” “Then say no more!” “Erika!” “Mother… I don’t know if we’ll actually find happiness as Kut-El says, but it beats staying here! We’ll only continue to suffer here and live in fear of those thugs taking us away! Even if we run...how far can we get?” “...” Eiri sighed before nodding. She then looked down on the floor and asked Kut-El, “Kind man...can you please break this floorboard here?” “Yes.” Kut-El raised his hand and punched through the floor and ripped apart the floorboards. Underneath, Erika saw 2 bags. “Child, help me.” Erika quickly moved to grab the two bags and opened them. Packed inside were clothes and a few other things. She looked up to her mother and asked, “Mom...this is?” “I always worried that one day, we might have to run so I packed these a long time ago.” “...” “If I hadn’t fallen ill...we would have long since been away from here.” Erika opened the other bag which was a bit smaller and was half expecting it to be clothing for her mother but what she found inside were some old jewelry and a few coins and silverware. “What’s this?” “Those are the only precious things I could collect. I was hoping you could use it on your journey and sell them for money.” “Then what about you?” “... I wasn’t expecting to leave.” “Mom!” “Don’t worry. I’ll be leaving with you today since I’m able.” Kut-El didn’t disrupt the mother-daughter exchange but when he received a warning from his fellow mimics, he immediately urged the two. “We have to go soon. More of those people are coming.” “Th-then let’s go!” “Yes.” Kut-El walked into the family’s bedroom and punched a hole through the wall. Seeing as Eiri wasn’t capable of any strenuous movement, he immediately picked her up and walked through. “Oh my…” “Hurry. We must leave.” “A-Alright!” Erika quickly followed after Kut-El who was carrying her mother into the dark of the night. They passed through a few alleyways and the houses of her neighbors. She looked back and saw a few shadowy figures moving into her house and the shouts of a few frustrated men. The night was covering their escape and their footprints were being washed away by the hidden mimics that were tailing them. Kut-El and the mimics had already prepared an escape route so, despite Erika thinking that they were only winding around mindlessly through the slums’ confusing streets, they eventually reached the weathered brick walls of the slums.  It was high enough that an average human wouldn’t be able to scale them. This much was a guarantee since the walls needed to keep out any low-ranked monsters from getting in.  However, Kut-El made it easy by simply leaping over the wall with the accompaniment of Eiri’s surprised yelp. “What the―” Erika looked up in amazement as her eyes followed Kut-El who was soon out of sight. When Kut-El landed on the other side, Eiri was gripping him very tightly. Her heart couldn’t handle the sudden surprise of his inhuman leap across the wall. “Ma’am, I need to get your daughter.” “O-Oh, yes…” Eiri quickly let go of Kut-El and the mimic sat her down gently on a rock. “Please don’t move. I will be back shortly.” “Mhm.” Kut-El once again jumped over the wall and the sight of him leaping amazed Eiri. “Oh my goodness...just who is this man that saved us?” A brief moment later, she saw a figure jumping through the air that landed a short distance away from her. “Th-that was amazing!” Erika exclaimed. “Mom, did you just see that? That was amazing!” “Yes, child. I was there to experience it as well, you know.” Kut-El placed Erika down and moved next to Eiri. The woman raised her arms and Kut-El once more picked her up. “We’ll need to get away from the city. They will probably search for us so we’ll need to move through the night,” Kut-El said. “Let me carry those for you.”  The mimic courteously grabbed Erika’s baggage and put them on his back. “Th-thanks.” “If you are tired, please say so. We’ll take a few breaks before we stop and rest. I have an outpost a few clicks away. We’ll head there before continuing our journey on horseback.” Erika and Eiri didn’t say anything. They simply nodded at Kut-El’s words and followed along. They hoped that after this horrendous night, the lives they would lead in the future would be much more radiant and blooming than it was in the past.
