Attack 2

2154 Words
While his wife was resting, Julius’s main body was working through the night and expanding his second sanctum.  The Fiend’s Plasm had permeated a vast majority of the complex cave system that used to belong to the arachnids. Julius had been scouring the cave system and its surroundings multiple times already and he had found a few straggler arachnids here and there. They were promptly taken care of by his fiends while he focused on creating more hatcheries and other fiend facilities. Some minor problems cropped up but apparently, the arachnids had many enemies or rather, many hunters. The nearby monster groups would occasionally attack the arachnids and steal their eggs for food. Unfortunately, the fiends had taken over the place so they instead turned into fiends’ sustenance. Julius’s numbers would only rise after each new battle and the abilities they randomly acquired after assimilating or devouring a monster corpse boosted their strength. For the lower-ranked fiends, leveling up had a limit, but growing their stats and gaining abilities didn’t as long as there were enough materials to feed on. Of course, the abilities and stats they gained from devouring paled in comparison to the stats they obtained from leveling, however, it was still enough to keep their strengths far above that of a regular creature. The racial advantage of being able to assimilate the abilities of the beings they devoured was the cause of the Fallen’s insatiable hunger which drove their need to destroy, or rather, assimilate the universe into their very being. Julius didn’t know how that mindset would affect his fiends but he never felt that he had any destructive tendencies. He acknowledged that his emotions and desires had indeed been amplified, like his desire to eradicate all his enemies and his insatiable lust over his wife. However, that was all. Julius never felt the need to mindlessly and irrationally destroy anything. Of course, things might change in the future but he would be monitoring his condition and reflecting on himself every day. The meditation did very well in helping Julius not only keep his fiends in control but also control over his thoughts and emotions. The only time he lost control was yesterday when he had s*x with his wife in his Metamorphosized state. His lust had taken control of his actions as he made love to his wife but that was all. He didn’t wake up the next morning to see that he had destroyed anything. Another day was left until the completion of his new hero unit, but when he turned to look at the map to monitor the humans’ movements, he saw that despite it already being morning, they still had not moved from their previous location. “How odd…” Julius transmitted his orders and let Eisha know that the humans were just idling around so instead of waiting for them, he suggested that it would be better if she approached them. It was risky, but the humans were just waiting around like fools. Of course, Julius didn’t think that the humans were actually just waiting for them… “High Priest...are you sure that they are here?” Balt, captain of the paladins, asked Quint, the high priest who was leading them. “The revelation said that they would be the ones coming to us! Why should we search for the evil when it is going to be serving itself on a silver platter to us?” “...Wouldn’t it be faster if we searched for it and exterminated the evil ourselves?” “The word of our Lord is not to be taken lightly! We shall wait patiently for the evil to come to us.” “...I’ll have my men standing by at the ready,” Balt said before he excused himself. “Send someone to quickly gather them. You will come with me. The evil has already come to us,” Quint said as he walked out of the tent they were in. “...” Balt frowned and quickly had his squire go relay his orders to his men and the mercenaries. He and Quint calmly walked out of their encampment and not long after, they encountered a woman. “Is this...the evil that you spoke of?” Balt asked when he saw the enchanting woman. “Don’t be deceived by her appearance!” Quint said in a strong tone.  Despite hearing that, Balt saw Quint gulping and knew that he was faltering. Evil or not, the woman in front of them possessed such captivating beauty.  “Are you here from the church?” the woman suddenly asked.  The captivating woman was naturally Eisha. The clothing that she was wearing only enhanced her charm but unlike her usual attire at home which hung loosely around her body so that it was easy to take off, the clothing she was currently wearing clung tightly to her body, however, it was still a dress. Her milky white thighs teasingly showed themselves from the side of her dress and her navel area was exposed while her breasts were tightly wrapped up and held in place. One could say that this was her battle dress and quite the distracting one. The dress accentuated her curves, especially her abundant bosom, and this distracted the high priest greatly. Not even his wife was as beautiful and sexy as this enchanting woman in front of him. While the priests and priestesses of the church didn’t have to remain chaste, the Paladins were different. They had the choice of having a partner, but most of them would go through the rite of Holy Light and lose quite a bit of their lust and emotions. In return, they would gain enhanced physical and magical abilities. Due to this difference, although Balt was only a little astonished by the mysterious woman he was still able to control himself. However, High Priest Quint was a little different. The flames of lust were already burning in his eyes and although he knew that the woman in front of him was an ‘evil’ being, he still wanted to bed her. After all, he could simply just ‘cleanse’ her before taking her. Balt placed his hands on his sword cautiously because he could feel that this alluring woman wasn’t simple at all. The aura she was radiating blended into the environment and this wasn’t something a normal creature could do. She was strong and Balt knew this so he nudged the charmed High Priest and said lowly, “She’s the one, right? The evil that you were talking about?” Quint snapped out of his entranced state and was certain that this woman was indeed the evil. However, if they were to simply kill her, it would be quite the loss, especially for him. “She’s but a human who has been tainted with evil. I shall exorcist the evil and trace the aura back to its origin! We must capture her!” “...” Balt had a frown on his face when he heard this. “It’d be simpler if we just kill her. The aura she radiates isn’t normal.” “Just let me do the talking and thinking. All you need to do is execute my orders!” “...As you command.” Quint stepped forward and approached Eisha who took a step back in caution. She wasn’t afraid, but after seeing the change in the priest’s eyes, she had to act the part of a beautiful frail woman. Seeing her take a step back, Quint quickly said, “Child, you have been tainted by evil… our God is merciful and through me, he shall cleanse the evil inside of you!” “...Your God, did he send you here?” “Of course. He sent us on a mission so we may rid the world of the evil that has tainted you!” Quint ogled Eisha’s body as he said this with a smile. It looked like a normal smile but to Eisha, it was rather lecherous. She could feel the man’s gaze focusing around her chest so she moved Proto, who she was carrying like a baby, to cover her chest. Naturally, Proto was wrapped in cloth so he didn’t expose his nonhuman appearance. Eisha turned her gaze to the cautious Paladin and asked, “This evil that you are talking about...why must you come and ‘cleanse’ it?” “Because it is our sworn duty to forever keep our lands clean!” “But these aren’t your lands…” Eisha replied. “...All of the land where the light touches belong to our Lord.” Eisha frowned at this fanatic. Talking with this person was like talking to a wall, nothing could get through to him. “We’re living here peacefully and without causing any trouble. Why must you people call us evil and hunt us down?” Balt quickly moved in front of Quint and said, “So you really are one of those things. Is this just a fake face you’re using?” He couldn’t forget about those faceless humanoid monsters he encountered inside the city that took on the appearances of regular humans. It was already worrying that a large group of those monsters had infiltrated their society so now that he heard those words come out of Eisha’s mouth confirming that she was in league of those monsters, it was time to do his duty as a paladin of the church. However, he was caught in a slight dilemma. The woman in front of him may seem fragile and delicate, but as a warrior, Balt was able to partially detect the woman’s strength and it was at the same level as him or higher.  It was a ridiculous discovery but his instincts as a warrior were telling him that he wouldn’t be able to easily defeat this woman. From the way the woman carried herself, she left no openings that he could take advantage of despite carrying what seems to be her child.  Naturally, it begged the question of why such a woman was out here along with her child but the dangerous feeling she was giving off discouraged Balt from even asking. Eisha detected his change and said, “We never did anything wrong to you humans. We traded and lived honestly until you decided to show up and murder us.” “...” “We live out here in this desolate place peacefully without harming anyone. We even have an alliance with the elves that live in the forest so please turn back and prevent any more bloodshed from either of our sides.” Balt was seriously contemplating this decision but before he could weigh the options and tell the High Priest, Quint himself raised a dismayed cry and said, “Oh child, you have been severely tainted and blinded by the evil that haunts you! Repent, come to me and I will use the power that my Lord has given to cleanse you of the evil!” “?” “Quint...we should back off…” Balt quickly said after seeing the beautiful lady frown. “What are you saying, Balt! A lost lamb has come to us in search of forgiveness and the path back to the light. We should naturally help her!” “Did you not hear anything that she’s just said?” Balt asked incredulously. “She’s been brainwashed by an evil being. We shall take her back to the camp and cleanse her immediately. After that, we’ll head straight into the barren wasteland and look for the lair of the evil being and cleanse them!” Eisha had enough of this i***t’s words. She kept on calling her husband evil, evil, evil. The only evil in this place was them. Coming here out of nowhere, they started by murdering her fellow fiends who were at the city trading peacefully and were now on a witch hunt for her race. “As my husband thought...you humans really are beyond help…” While they were talking, a few mercenaries and priests had gathered in the area and began surrounding Eisha. “Men, capture her! We shall cleanse this woman of the evil that’s tainted her!” Quint shouted. The humans began closing in on her but Eisha only laughed before saying, “The only thing that needs cleansing is this forest...of you humans!”
