An End

The ArchBishop’s sudden death shocked the believer of the church who had witnessed the man’s body fall from the air after Julius gauged his heart out. All of the church’s people witnessed this because Torres had sent out a command to them to offer up their energy to help power the [Divine Providence] which had killed the other Julius. From the start of the battle, Julius had truly been on the battlefield. At least, that was until he used his first [Unholy] spell. The spell wasn’t just a devastating blast of dark energy that could wipe out anything it touched. The technique had many other additions on top of that. Such as the creation of a physical phantom composed of this energy. The Julius that ArchBishop Torres was facing was this phantom while his true body was hiding far up in the skies, waiting for the most opportune moment to take the man’s life. Since it was only a phantom, it was actually pretty fragile. However, because it continuously activated his [Weave] and [Cause and Effect] skills on itself, the phantom was able to stay alive even after it should have exploded from being hit by the ArchBishop’s attacks. It wasn’t easy to do this, but Julius had multiple consciousnesses and the system analyzing the ArchBishop’s movement and actions from a bird's eye view. Controlling the phantom to do what he wanted was easy because he was able to see everything happening on the battlefield. Julius watched empathetically as the human army disintegrated into nothingness from his technique. Individuals like the Holy Knight and the Chaos Orc were able to withstand the damage and effects of his skill because they were much more powerful than their races’ average soldiers. Also, the earlier [Unholy] wasn’t even at its most powerful output so the two champions were able to survive. The one he used on the human army was at a higher output so the destructive power it showed was more apparent. After the darkness of Julius’s [Unholy] had receded multiple phantoms of himself rose from the grounds and they turned their sights onto the remaining remnants of the enemies’ army.  A large empty field had appeared after Julius had thoroughly decimated the humans that were previously on it and they were replaced with his menacing phantoms who immediately started rushing towards the humans. “Fiends!” Julius’s powerful roar rang through the battlefield and it caused all of the fiends to stop what they were doing and turn to him. This placed a slight lull on the battlefield, but his next words immediately caused all of the fiends to begin moving again. “Kill them all.” What happened next was bound to be the bloodiest loss in the humans' history. Not a man or woman on that battlefield was spared. The fiends systematically reaped the lives of every human present and had even pushed to the area where the humans’ central command was located. The Kings of every kingdom tried to surrender but they only received the claws and blades of what they called, the pale devils. Julius had no intention of letting anyone live. That’s why the moment he arrived back on the ground, the first thing he did was fire a Wind Arrow at the motionless Holy Knight who appeared dead. The Wind Arrow penetrated the knight’s chest plate and carved a nasty hole on his left flank. “...You really do hate the church but was that necessary?” Sithaeth asked. “He wasn’t dead yet.” “...” Naturally, Sithaeth couldn’t tell that the fallen knight had only a breath of life within him. The holy knight’s indicator on Julius’s map was still present so he did that to ensure his death. “There’s still one more to deal with...should I do it, or you?” Julius turned towards the blackened ‘statue’ of a woman that was just a few meters away. “...can we at least spare this one?” “Why?” “King Julius, if we take out all of the rulers surrounding the area around my kingdom, only more fools would come to take their place.” “...What do you propose we do then?” King Sithaeth let out a relieved sigh seeing that Julius, despite the clear hatred he showed towards the humans, was still willing to open up a dialogue with them and not thoroughly kill every one of them. “First of all...can you tell your fiends to stop attacking the soldiers that bear the Auxpex Kingdom’s crest on their armor or clothes?” “...Fine.” Julius wasn’t going to dictate what the dwarves were going to do so he listened to his ally. He was in an alliance of equal-standing with them. He wasn’t like the humans that wanted to subordinate the dwarves so that they could dictate every one of their actions. Sithaeth went over to the blackened earth statue and smashed it open with his hammer. Queen Yvette fell over onto the ground, immobile from the numbness her body was experiencing after it was bombarded with numerous lightning strikes from the Mountain King’s attack. Other than the numbness she was feeling, her body didn’t have a single hint of injury. Julius quickly took note of the crest patterned on her armor and quickly ordered his fiends to avoid attacking the soldiers that sported a similar crest on their armors and clothes. “Can you hear me, Queen Yvette?” Yvette’s body was numb but her muscles had tightened up so she was stiff right now. She couldn’t open her mouth nor her eyes but she struggled to move, indicating that she could hear him. “My allies and I have decided to spare you and your soldiers, however, it will come at a cost. We’re taking you into Aurumfaust as both a guest and a hostage so I suggest you send a message to your people to retreat from the battlefield.” Queen Yvette’s body shook a little but it didn’t matter what she could have meant by that. Even if she wanted to say no, Yvette had no right to refuse. Julius roughly picked her up like a sack of wheat and began walking to the dwarven city. Eisha and the others were still fighting right now so Julius had to meet up with them later. His wife also needed to deal with the aftermath of the war. She needed to strip all of the corpses of their armor and transport them back to their sanctums. The bodies would definitely be useful for their mimics and for resources. The armor and everything else, they were going to let the dwarves have it. As the Matriarch, Eisha had the ability to disintegrate the bodies into their resource state so her fiends didn’t need to drag multiple carts and wagons of bodies back with them to their sanctums. If they did that, it would surely attract some very bad attention to themselves. After arriving at the Mountain King’s castle, Julius just tossed the woman onto the ground in the great hall. The numbness in her body had somewhat abated so she could move again but Julius had restrained her with his fiend energy. “What kind of gentleman are you?!” Julius looked down at the woman before scoffing and walking away. He was still in his battle form so he quickly reverted to his human form. When Queen Yvette saw Julius’s human form, she immediately exclaimed in shock, “Y-You’re human!” “Silence, woman. Don’t lump me in with your detestable kind. I’m a fiend!” Julius had a disgusted look on his face as he said this. Even though he did look like a human, but the blood flowing in his veins and the energy coursing through his body was that of a fiend, not a human. He only appeared in this way because he was born as a half-human so he didn’t have the rather repulsive humanoid appearance as the rest of his fiends. As for why this was so, Julius didn’t know and the system couldn’t give him a proper answer. On their planet, the fiend genome would randomly manifest itself even if both parents weren’t fiends at all. The Ancient One’s methods were incomprehensive that even the system couldn’t find an answer to this mystery. Julius sat himself down on a chair before the dwarven king came back from the side hall with his armor taken off. Seeing Julius back in his normal form, Sithaeth couldn’t help but chuckle, “Despite how human you look, your presence clearly says otherwise.” “Hm, the aura I emit is clearly different from a human despite how I look.” “Indeed...no human that I know of could use magic or transformation skills like you and your fiends.” “Mhm.” “I believe that I’ve already met your wife before, yes?” “Yes, you have.” “The person next to her...is that―” “That’s also me. It’s a clone I created that accompanies her wherever she goes if I can’t go with her.” “Ah, it explains why that person looks quite similar to you.” “I know all that’s been spoken of here. My clone and I share the same mind so what he sees and hears, is what I also see and hear. There’s no need to re-discuss things about the alliance and whatnot,” Julius tapped his fingers on the table before giving the woman on the floor, Yvette, a sidelong glance.  “What do you plan to do with this woman?” “We need someone to act as a proxy as well as a cushion between us and the humans. We wiped out the armies of nearly 4 kingdoms today…there’s also the church’s army…” “So? What does this have to do with that woman?” Queen Yvette’s body began to return to normal and after hearing the way Julius kept on calling her, she stood up and said in annoyance, “Woman this, woman that! I have a name and it’s Yvette!” “I don’t care. Pipe down and sit down or else I’ll change my mind and end your pitiful existence right now!” “You!” “Enough, Yvette! I managed to keep you alive despite what you did by coming here to attack us!” “...You knew that I didn’t have a choice!” “It doesn’t matter. Now, you also don’t have a choice here!” “...”  Yvette let out a long sigh before sitting down on a chair. “What do you want me to do now that you’ve kept me alive?” Sithaeth similarly sat down before saying, “Simple, I want you to take control of the surrounding kingdoms as fast as you can. After that, you’ll act as a buffer between us and the outlier human kingdoms.” “...That’s all?” “Yes. We’ll provide you with all the forces and equipment you need. In exchange, you keep all of the humans away from Aurumfaust.” “It’s not difficult, but the others in the alliance wouldn't look too kindly upon my actions!” Julius smirked and turned to the woman, “It’s a small price to pay...for being allowed to live, no?” “...” The smirk he had on his face appeared more like an evil grin to Yvette.  “Fine...have it your way then... but I get to rule the territory as I see fit!”
