Daily Quest

Julius had to stay at the elf town for another day because Eisha slept through the day. She was just too exhausted from their intense love-making session. Julius handled her pretty roughly that night so her body was weary even after she had awoken from her sleep. Ysolte had left early that day so Eisha didn’t know about her peeping on them. Julius didn’t bother telling her because it would just embarrass his wife. He didn’t mind it as much but Eisha was a delicate woman so he wanted to save her the embarrassment.  He didn’t meet with Ysolte at all after that morning. It was better this way anyway so Julius just went around the town looking at the elves’ local specialties and scouted the forest with his homunculi. Once Eisha had fully rested and no longer felt drained, the two left for their Fiend’s Sanctum and when they returned, Julius received a prompt. [Fiend’s Dwelling has been completed. New Features have been unlocked! Daily Quest has been unlocked! Personal Quest has been unlocked!] “Eisha, go have your homunculi change into proper Fiend Soldiers.” “Alright, honey~” Eisha gave Julius a sweet kiss before leaving for the newly created building on the level below. Her homunculi were already waiting for her so they followed after. Julius returned to his castle and went to the throne room. He sat down on his plain, stone throne and began looking through the new features the system gave him. [Daily Quest Create 5 homunculi Collect 250 units of Flesh and Blood Collect 500 units of Ore, Wood, Stone, and Food Kill 50 lifeforms Complete 4 Daily Objectives Rewards:  50% Completion: 50 EXP 100% Completion: 100 EXP Random Rewards: 2% Chance to receive 1 status point 3% Chance to receive 1 skill point 5% Chance to receive a random increase in stat] [Personal Quest Kill 50 D-Ranked Lifeforms (0/50) Reward: +1 to STR stat (0/2) Run 50 Kilometers (0/50) Reward: +1 to AGI stat (0/2) Meditate For 5 Hours (0/5) Reward: +1 to INT stat (0/2) XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (0/5) Reward: +1 to all stats (9/100) Note:  Rewards will be refreshed every week. Once all rewards have been acquired, Task 4 will be deleted] Julius was rather glad to see that there was a new way for him to earn EXP. Personally killing monsters was going to take quite a while but earning 150 EXP a day was enough to bring him up a level after a few days. The Daily Quest was good news for him and the Personal Quest was even better. He needed a quicker way to raise his stats and the system just gave it to him on a silver platter. He was restricted to raising his stats only twice per week but that was okay. Julius only wondered about the last task which had a limit of 100 and couldn’t be refreshed. It was all ‘X’ed out so he couldn’t tell what it was but the system showed that he had done it 9 times already. He checked his status screen and noticed that all his stats had just increased by 9 each. [Status Name: Julius de Ephalerith Race: Fiend Class: Creator Level: 1 (188/1000) STR: 49 (C) AGI: 44 (C-) INT: 89 (A-) Skill: [Creation EX], [Pinnacle Mental Resistance A] Addition: [Creation EX], [Parallel Cognition] Condition: Healthy ] Julius didn’t know what it was yet but he needed to figure it out quickly. Those were 100 status points on all his stats and he could complete it 5 times every week.  He needed to raise his stats the most and catch up to Eisha who was already far ahead of him. “Let’s go finish the first and second task.” Julius said this and stood up. Just as he was about to exit the Fiend’s Sanctum, a system prompt appeared. [Daily Quests have been completed! Awarded 150 EXP!] Julius smirked before walking out of the sanctum with a few homunculi following. The daily quest was going to be easy since he could have his homunculi complete it for him so he could just focus on his Personal Quests. He let Eisha know that he was going out through their connection and proceeded to head south this time around. To the north of their Sanctum was the elf’s forest and town while to the east and west was just barren land filled with cliffs, rocks, and gorges. The south was still just the Shifting Hallows’ barren lands but his homunculi had found a few monster camps there. He planned to raid these camps and kill the monsters there to complete his quests. Julius also calculated the distance between him and the next monster camp in the south and estimated it to be around a few kilometers away. It was rather far but since he had his second quest to complete, it was perfect this way. Julius led his homunculi out to the depths of the Shifting Hallows and arrived at the first monster den on his minimap. He pulled out his bow and readied himself. Julius moved closer to the monster den and noticed that there was nothing there. When he scrutinized the area, he noticed that there were small mounds on the ground in the area that his minimap had marked as the monster den. “So they’re underground huh?” Julius knocked a Wind Arrow on his bow and shot it. When the arrow struck the ground and blew up, the monsters resting underneath immediately shot out in rage. They skittered left and right, hissing in all directions as they tried to find the bastard who had attacked them. “So this time it’s scorpion monsters…” [Desert Scorpion Lv. 10] [Desert Scorpion Lv. 10] [Desert Scorpion Man Lv. 15] Julius noticed that there was a scorpion-man among the monsters below. It was probably the strongest creature among the monsters so Julius aimed his bow at it. He shot an arrow and against his expectations, the scorpion-man didn’t dodge. It looked straight at where Julius was and smacked the Wind Arrow from the air with a wave of its tail. “Tsk...It’s level 15 so I’m not surprised. I have the advantage in distance so let’s see how much you can take before slipping up?” Julius knocked a few more Wind Arrows and released them. He didn’t specifically aim at the monster but its minions. The arrows that struck the normal scorpions gave them some degree of injury to their carapace.  The scorpions took notice of Julius’s location and began moving. He moved his homunculi in place while he continued to fire arrow after arrow. Julius was able to kill off a few monsters before they arrived at his spot.  Julius didn’t remain stationary. He was firing his shots and moving away. He kited the monsters around and picked them off one by one. His homunculi only jumped in to help whenever they got too close for comfort. Julius needed to personally kill 50 monsters so he couldn’t have his homunculi do it for him. With his expert movements and footwork, Julius downed the scorpions until only the scorpion-man remained. He tried using his arrows to pierce the monster’s carapace, but the Wind Arrows did very little damage to its shell. Even when his homunculi tried helping, the scorpion-man would dispatch them easily with its tail and pincers. Julius didn’t try to get too close to the monster because he would probably end up in the same way. He had killed around 8 normal scorpions. They were D-ranked monsters while the scorpion-man was probably a C or B rank. He didn’t need to continue fighting so Julius retreated with his homunculi. The scorpion-man gave chase for a few moments before it returned. Julius was sending Wind Arrows at its eyes and legs to hinder it from catching up to them.  “Tsk, I’m still not strong enough to kill that one...let’s move on then.” Julius could probably kill it if he used [Metamorphosis] but that would be too wasteful. It was also his trump card so he needed to use it carefully. If he used it now and encountered a stronger monster, later on, it would be disastrous. Julius and his homunculi went around the southern part of the Shifting Hallows, raiding monster dens and killing the lower-ranked monsters while they avoided the higher-ranked ones. He lost a few homunculi in his frequent escapes but he didn’t meet with too many problems. Once his homunculi were cut until only half remained, he decided to call it a day and return to his Fiend’s Sanctum. Julius had spent the entire day fighting and running around. He wasn’t finished with any of his quests yet but he could probably complete the first round by tomorrow. Only the meditation quest remained untouched but he would get to it later once he got home. With the new daily and personal quest, Julius decided on a new routine for himself. In the early morning, he would do a few runs around the Fiend’s Sanctum and practice his shooting. After that, he’d spend a little time with Eisha before leaving to hunt some monsters.  Once he was finished, he’d go home, take a bath, and have a meal before meditating for 1-2 hours. After that, he’d check up on the status of his forces. Julius had left all of the management of the internal affairs to Eisha who gladly took it upon herself. She wanted to be the virtuous queen of the Fiends so while her husband went out to battle and get stronger, she took care of all the management while he was gone. Naturally, this included the trades with the elves and the visit to the human city nearby. Upon Julius’s return a few hours later, Eisha informed him that his dinner and bath were ready. Naturally, Eisha joined him in his bath and the two had a passionate session within the waters. After he made love to Eisha and ate his dinner, Julius began his meditation. The system assisted him in clearing his mind and instructed him on some kind of breathing technique that allowed him to absorb the Fiend’s plasm energy in his Fiend’s Sanctum and refine it within his body. The system said that the refined energy would bolster his health and energy, letting him fight longer and heal from his energies much quicker without the use of the hatchery or his Fiend’s Cradle. He was meditating in a room at the highest point of his castle. The outcrop’s internal structure where his Sanctum was located had been remodeled into his castle so, despite its unassuming outer appearance, the inside was that of a complicated and intricate structure. Julius planned to move his Fiends out and completely turn the entire outcrop into his personal living space sometime in the future after his territory had expanded and he stabilized the area around him. For now, he focused on strengthening himself.
