CHAPTER 51 KIDNAPPEDJamie opened her eyes, gasping in horror at her wrists which were bound by chains, tied to two posts on either side of the room. She lay on top of a double bed with several throw pillows and cushions lining a thin bedspread. Her eyes roamed the cabin-like room with its lacy curtains that let in a subtle glare of sunlight. A tall lamp was turned on, and a chandelier was suspended from the ceiling. On either side of the bed were two bedside cabinets, a padded bench with timber legs resting on a rug by the lamp, and an armoire in the corner of the room.
