LUNA GRAY'S POV
I moved slowly, the rough, cold floor of the cave pressing against my back. My eyes opened up slowly and for a moment,I stayed still observing my environment in fear of what I had seen. The carvings on the wall and darkness that filled the cave,it all felt like a crazy nightmare.
I took a deep breath, with my heart still pondering like drums from the last encounter.” Was it just a dream or should I say nightmare?,” I wondered,my mind unclear and disoriented. I pulled myself up slowly,my legs shaking slightly. The cave was now silent and a little bit gloomy, and the pair of glowing eyes I saw before I passed out was nowhere to be seen.
I shook my head, clenching my teeth in reaction to the pain I felt whilst trying to clear the lingering haze. I could clearly see the markings on the wall now, their cryptic symbols sent chills down my spine as my body began to tremble in fear. It hadn't been a dream. The symbols, the eyes, it was all real. My memories from the night I was betrayed flashed towards me, reminding me of the symbols I saw etched into the ground where Marcus stood still.
“How's this possible?,” I mummered to myself, the air around me felt heavy with secrets, and I had soon realized that I had stumbled upon something far much more complex and sinister than I had originally thought. I needed answers to my questions, but first, I had to get out of this cave and figure out my next move.
I was determined, dying was not on my mind,I slowly made my way to the caves entrance, with my senses sharp and alert for any signs of danger. I couldn't afford to lose consciousness again; my survival depended on actions, staying sharp and vigilant.
I wandered around through the dense forest,my mind still fixated in the carvings on the wall in the cave and hunting memories of Marcus's betrayal.
I moved with high caution and focus, every rustling sound of the leaves and snaps of broken tree branchs kept me on high alert. I had to stay sharp and alert if I wanted to survive.
I approached a clearing, my ears perked up at the sound of howls of distress. My instincts kicked in quickly,I crawled forward, careful not to be seen as a prey to any beast. Through the bushes, I saw a small pack of wolves gathered together with their bodies tensed and fearful as they were surrounded by several rogues as their eyes bloomed with malice in them.
It was obvious that the small pack was clearly outmatched. The rogues surrounded them, growling as their fangs came out slowly with an intent to kill as they enjoyed the fear they were instilling. My heart pounded in remorse as I watched the scene unfold itself. I could feel what they were going through rounded up like that faced with the question if their death is certain or not?. I couldn't stand and do nothing.
Summoning strength and courage In my weakened state,I leaped into the clearing catching the rogues of guard with their faces left in awe, they paused glaring at me as my presence gave an imposing feeling and my eyes burned with determination.” Leave them be,” I growled loudly with my voice steady and commanding as it sent shivers down their spine.
The leader of the rougues glared at me intensely given a slight snarl “and who are you to give orders, you lone wolf?,”
My eyes fell to the ground slowly.”someone who doesn't tolerate assault or bullying,”
Without another word, the rougue leader lunged at me swiftly with an intent to kill, but I was ready. We faced eachother head-on as my strong jaws snapped inches out of his throat. We both clashed in a furry of our claws and fangs but my skills and determination soon overwhelmed him. With my final blow,I sent him rolling across the ground defeated.
With their leader defeated, the other rogue allies stood still in fear as they glared at their leader bested in the fight. With a series of angry growls and intense glances, they dashed into the forest leaving the small pack untouched.
“Thank you,” the leader of the small pack said as I turned my head towards them glaring at me with awe and gratitude in their faces. “We owe you our lives,” their leader said, with a bright smile on her face.
My eyes met the floor slowly, “you don't have to thank me,it's something anyone else would do,” I said to their leader before turning my back, ready to continue my journey.
“At least join us in our pack,we'd hold a feast as a thank you,” a pack member sprang out shouting.
“it's not really that necessary I was on my to…..”
“She's bleeding, get her up quickly,” the pack member said, with a worried look.
The alpha of the pack reached out to me carrying me up on her back slowly”it's bad I've never seen an injury this bad,I'm not sure she's going to make it, it looks infected,”
“But you have to help her, it's the least you can do for her,she saved our lives, we have to save hers too,” the pack member said with a trembling voice.
My ears ached from their talks as my eyes faded slowly ‘is this how I'd go out,I can't go out like this knowing fully well what that bastard did and knowing I'm in this situation because of him,” i thought to myself as my eyes closed slowly with tears flowing down my cheeks.”I'm sorry everyone,I really am….”
