Rustling
LUNA GRAY'S POV
It's been a month and thirteen days since I left my pack in the hands of that bastard,I can't believe he'd betray me like that. And just like a wide fire spreading in a forest, the news of what had happened to the moon claw pack, how my position as the alpha was stripped from me, including the betrayal I suffered and how I left the pack, spread among the werewolf world. Well it isn't something exactly one could be proud of,but I'm handling it just fine, Since I'm almost a rogue now, many things have changed since I left the pack.
Some alphas respect me for the decisions I took on that night and stepped in to help, but just like there are two faces to everything, positive and negative, I often suffer belittling mockery from the people who bask in the happiness that I got betrayed like that.
My matter and personal life have become a joke and a trending topic to joke about during kitty parties for many Lunas.
However,I'm glad that they still look down as I walk in front of them.
Though everyone knows that my trust with Marcus has been ruined, and I have rejected being with someone like him, people would still call me Luna Gray because of the alpha blood in my veins.it would be disrespectful to call me by my name since that sh*thead beta stole my pack from me to be an alpha, they can't call me that,so Luna Gray is what everyone would resort to.
Raising my head in the air,I sniffed the air,my claws sprouting slowly as I closed my eyes.
Rustling in the bushes filled the atmosphere in the air, with my sharp instincts telling me to go for the hunt,I moved slowly with each step measured, each breath controlled. Every step I took was intentional, I lowered myself to the ground moving slowly with precision. I leaped forward as my legs propelled me through the air. The Rabbit's ears twitched sensing the danger it's in, in a slick motion,my fangs closed around the Rabbit's neck ending it's life in an instant. My wolf and I filled with joy gripped our catch tightly ensuring to secure our successful catch against other predators.
Devouring my catch as quickly as I could, with my stomach rumbling in joy I looked above watching the rustling leaves and trees above me as I closed my eyes.
‘The full moon casted an eerie light over where my pack gathered,as the alpha of the pack I stood forward with a commanding and strong presence, I could feel the intensity of the air but I had blamed it at the scarcity of preys to catch or hunt and the growing threats of the rogue packs.
My second-in-command,Marcus approached me with a respectable bow, with his eyes holding a strong spark that I had never seen before.” We need to discuss our strategy Alpha. We've not treated this matter in a while,” he said, his voice smooth and calm.
I nodded taking him away from the gathering,as we left I felt a sharp disturbing pain in my side. My head faced down,I saw blood flowing from a deep gash,I stargged as my visions became blurry, but I managed to stay on my feet. Turning back I saw Marcus claws filled with my blood dripping slowly to the ground, his face a mask of cold determination.
Around me,my pack members who I had trusted for years stood with blank faces, others watched with a thrill of excitement on their faces and a few stood in front of me to protect me. Realization hit me with a blow on my face, I had been betrayed and they all planned it together, I was stupid for not seeing it coming………’
I opened my eyes before gasping as I checked the injury was getting worse. I stood up slowly feeling an urge to vomit. I held my hands towards my mouth only to cover my hands in blood,I was sure I was getting weaker and if I didn't get help soon I might die.
I moved forward slowly into the forest, staggering with slow steps that I took intentionally.
“It's going to be fine, you've faced situations far worse than death,” my wolf said, and I hummed.
“Again with your motivations, which situation have I faced that's greater than death, even you fear death,” I said to my wolf.
I walked slowly seeing nothing but an unclear vision,my face hits the ground filled with leaves, I faced up slowly seeing a cave.
“That cave should be enough for the night,” I thought to myself self as I groaned in pain.
I crawled in slowly into the cave feeling the cold air as a shiver ran down my spine, I laid my back to rest against the wall,I had relaxed somewhat when something about the cave walls came into focus for me.
Markings covered it, strange symbolisms and drawings that seemed very familiar. Curiosity getting the better of me, I padded closer to them, tracing the markings with her hands, when suddenly, a specific symbol caught my eyes, sending shivers down my spine. It was the same symbol I had seen etched into the ground that fateful night where Marcus had stood against me.
What could all of this mean? Why would this be here far away from my home territory? Just then, as things clicked together, a low growl rumbled through the cave. I whirled to find that I was being watched from the darkness of a corner by two glowing eyes.
I crawled back slowly holding onto my injury, seeing the eyes in my weakened state gave me shivers as tears rolled down my eyes. I looked in fear of the worst possible outcome.” I can't go out like this, not like this,” I said to myself and my wolf hummed in agreement.
