CHAPTER NINE Alexa and the killer fired at each other at the same time. Both hit. Just as she saw Pérez flinch from her bullet, Alexa felt something slam against her chest. For the second time in the past couple of minutes, she found herself flat on her back. She lay there for a second, stunned and disoriented.
