After waking up from a night of tossing two women in bed, he took a shower and left a wad of cash on the bed. The ladies were totally washed out, and they wouldn't be waking up any time soon. He immediately left the hotel and headed to his office, knowing perfectly well that he wouldn't see any of those women again. If he did, it would be by pure coincidence and they might not even recognize each other.
"Well, good riddance."
He said to himself as he made his way to his car and sped off to the office. The minute he stepped in, the atmosphere changed. People acted like they were busy, a few ladies tried to catch his eye by smiling at him while greeting him rather loudly. Some whispered here and there, and it gave him a sense of pride.
He was never one to allow his personal life to interfere with his business life. He could sleep around all the time if he wanted to, but the moment he got to work, it's like his only purpose in life is to work.
Rocking his baby blue tuxedo and pants, he took long and gentle strides with his perfect legs adorned with neatly polished black Versace shoes into his office, leaving everyone who started at him simply astonished. This was some kind of ritual for him. He had grown used to the reactions of his employees now, and he honestly couldn't care any less.
Taylor quickly followed him into his office with her tablet in hand. Ready to take notes from her boss.
"Good morning Sir."
She politely greeted him when she entered. He was staring out the window as usual. Enjoying the view of the city.
"Drop the formalities Taylor, you know what to do. "
She slowly stood behind him as she waited for him to act. He did. He slammed her into the bookshelf and carried her, wrapping her legs around his waist and fiercely pushing up her skirt, leaving her thighs bare while covering her with kisses.
Then, he snapped his fingers and she was out of her silly daydream. She was stunned as she stared at her boss in confusion.
"I was asking how you were, Taylor. "
He said with a straight face but a puzzled tone.
"Oh , oh , yes . I'm fine Sir. Pardon me, I've been absent-minded a lot these days. "
Maximilien nodded.
"You can take a few days off if you want, Taylor. You look like you need it. We're closing that Patterson Park deal next week and I need you in great shape."
"I'm fine Sir, honestly. Thank you though."
Maximilien arched a brow. He wasn't convinced in the least. And he wasn't really asking if she wanted to, he was commanding that she did.
"I insist Taylor. I need you at your absolute best. Take the rest of the week off. Come back on Monday. There's not much to do here anyway. Just a few preparations for signing the deal. Which you can obviously manage at home."
She got the hint this time and nodded.
"Thank you, Sir."
She said before turning to leave. She was almost out the door when Maximilien called out to her. She swallowed hard and took a deep breath before returning to her boss.
"In addition to making preparations for the closing of the Patterson Park deal, get me a new housekeeper."
"Yes Sir. Would that be all?"
"Yes, that would be all. Thanks Taylor."
She took that as her signal to leave, and she did just that. Running to her desk in total embarrassment. Though her boss couldn't possibly have known what was going on in her mind, she felt as though he had definitely seen all her imaginations and heard all of her thoughts.
"What is wrong with me ?"
She silently asked herself with a pout. Then she started packing and left the building.
"Hey girl, you busy?"
"Not all "
The receiver said.
"Cool if I come over?"
"Oh yes, absolutely."
The receiver replied again and said a sweet goodbye before ending the call.
A couple of minutes later, Taylor was knocking on Gabriella's door. She was surprised, however, when she was greeted by another woman carrying a baby.
"Oh , hello . I'm here to see Gabi please."
Taylor said with a cute smile. Issabella smiled back and welcomed Taylor in.
"Gabriella will be down in a few minutes. She's taking a shower. Please make yourself at home."
Isabella said. Her strong British accent seemed to have an effect on people. Taylor nodded and dropped herself on the couch with a sigh.
"Tough day ?"
Isabella asked. Taylor nodded and pretended to cry. Isabella laughed at Taylor's pretend act and so did Taylor.
"Well, we all have tough days sporadically. You'll be fine."
Taylor nodded and offered a kind smile. She couldn't help but admire the baby. Babies were her weakness and she was trying so hard not to freak this English goddess and her baby out.
"Your baby is cute ! Can I hold her?"
She finally blurted out after ten minutes of trying to control herself.
"Of course. Just be careful "
Isabella carefully handed Luna over to Taylor. She wasn't completely comfortable with the whole idea, but if Taylor was a good friend of Gabi, then she couldn't be a bad person....right? Besides, she didn't want to make a bad impression, and she had locked the door behind them. There was no way she could run off with her baby if she decided to.
"What's her name?"
"Her name's Luna."
"Oh, that's beautiful. She's so cute."
Soon they were joined by Gabriella and Issa used that as an excuse to run off to her room with her baby. Gabriella and Taylor quickly got down to business.
"You can't be serious Taylor, that's the third time this week. He's way out of your league, girl. That bang session is never happening."
Gabriella said when Taylor was done with the narration of her daydream.
"I know that girl, but I can't help it. I swear every time I'm with him, all I want to do is to moan his name and hear him say mine with his hands in my hair and his mouth buried in my neck."
"Well, that's never going to happen. So just forget it."
"Okay fine, well he gave me the rest of the week off, and I have to make arrangements to close a deal. I was wondering if you could put in a good word with that bar friend of yours. Teddy or Benny."
"Firstly, his name is Teddy silly. And yeah, I can put in a good word. But first, I need you to do something for me. "
" Okay. Anything. But tell me about this English goddess you have over here. She's so beautiful. I swear if I wasn't head over heels desperate for Mr. Hottie, I'd make a move on her. "
Gabriella rolled her eyes and began to speak.
"Actually, it's about her. She needs a job. Something simple that wouldn't keep her away from her baby for long. Housekeeping maybe? You think you can help her out?"
"Oh, then she might be in luck. My boss asked me to find him a new housekeeper. I'll pull a string or two. But first, tell me about her."
Taylor was insistent on the gossip and it made Gabriella laugh.
"Well, she's a friend of my brother's girlfriend, and she had to move from the United Kingdom to get a fresh start. She's been here for the past year. She doesn't talk about it much. "
"Well, aren't you good at keeping secrets? Gabriella."
"Oh shut up Taylor. If you hadn't been busy going up and down with Mr. Hottie, you would have known sooner. Anyway, she doesn't talk much about her past, so I can't tell you much."
Gabriella lied. She didn't feel guilty about it. Taylor was her friend. But it didn't mean she could share Issabella's private issues with her. They conversed for a while before settling down and dinner and Taylor left.
That night, Gabriella couldn't help but wonder how Issabella was coping with all her trauma.
