ALEXIS' POV I was making my way towards the great room when everything suddenly stilled. " enough of this!" an unfamiliar masculine voice echoed through the massive walls. " you will address your mother with more respect son!" scolded a more familiar voice the king " she only did what's right" " by right you mean to leave a bloody note on my office desk? you've got to be kidding me!" he said with frustration vividly evident in his voice. I know it's not a good idea to interrupt arguing dragons let alone the royals but I can't help myself I feel this strong pull I find myself opening the doors of the great room " I only wanted you to come back home!" the queen exclaimed " it seemed right at the time okay! with all the inversions lately" he looked at the queen then towards the door and looked at me then he shook his head and headed to the window flapped his wings and left. He's the most beautiful dragon I've ever seen the gold scales sparkling in the morning sun as he fleed away in his might. he must be the legendary Dracula, God of fire they say, the guardian of all creation and protector of treasure. I still don't understand how that came to be or if it's even possible I have heard people tell the tales of his might and that he was the great protector " guardian" the last of his kind but I still couldn't bring myself to believe it. I'm only a bit above a hundred year-old so I don't know much about what happened back then, he had always been the mythical figure one of those tales parents tell their kids but after what I saw earlier in the great room I can't seem to shake it off. the mood in there was horrible so I rushed out like a madman sprinting in the direction of my office when someone stopped me " Hey girl, where are you running off to?" Hilda, my best friend, asked " you won't believe what I saw today, but anyway I'm going to pick something in my office and go home," I said without even taking a look at her then I ask " you want to come?" " Why are you even asking, of course, I'm coming" knowing her, she would have pestered me about it so I just invite her to save her the trouble " I thought you said you are going to the office first?" she asked when I turn to go home instead of the hospital " well yeah, I know what I said, can't a girl change her mind?" " ah, whatever hurry up!" she said while practically dragging me. " Mommy!" Cindy call running to embrace me just as we entered the house " Hey, sweetheart, how are you?" I greeted them as I bend forward to pick her up I missed her " what did you eat for lunch?" I ask concerned " it's not lunch yet mommy and chalet won't let me eat any sweats" " They are not good for your teeth my love" she makes a sad face with puppy eyes and begins to make pleading sounds. she's so adorable when she does that I can't resist " Okay fine you can have one," I say and put her down " you are getting pretty good at this" Chalet, the nanny comments, I have look after cindy because I can't run a hospital and play full-time mommy all the time. she treats her right and couldn't ask for anything else " yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot actually" I replied smiling and left her to do her work " so what is it that you saw?" asked Hilda when we had finally settled in the sitting room. " remember those tales about the Guardian Dracula?" asked shifting into a much comfortable position. she nodded her head in agreement " I think I saw him today" I stopped to see her reaction " you mean like there Dracula? are you sure maybe it's Mitch you saw I heard they look alike," she said with dought " I know what I saw, Mitch is blue that one was golden just like in the tales and he emitted so much power even the King was on guard while talking to him" this time she shook her head in disbelief " get a hold of yourself girl, the king being submissive to his son come on how did that come to be?" " Well don't tell anyone but I kind of overheard them arguing and budged in it's a long story but I think he didn't want to come back home. he was pierced off maybe the Queen send him a summon or something " " I think it's good that he's back, I mean with all the inversions lately, we're going to need as much help as we can get," I thought she didn't believe me but then again she changes her moods and opinions faster than a chameleon can change its complexion " I don't know about that, I hope he sticks around long enough to help with that," I turn toward the direction of my baby's room, and I can't help but worry how will she survive this? how am I even going to protect her? she is all I've got apart from Chalet and Hilda the thought of losing her doesn't sit well at all with me " you have nothing to worry about she'll be fine" Hilda said putting a hand on mine for reassurance. I hope she is right
