Warrior’s Human Mate

Chapter 6

Wolves howling was what Rose could hear as she slowly regained consciousness. Flashbacks of what happened yesterday suddenly appeared in her mind as if she was rewatching them from the side. She looked around the room to see the sun shining through her window, lighting up the room. As she turned to the bedside table, she saw that the clock read 8AM. A bit earlier than her normal time of waking up, but she did seem to mind, but she had to wait for Luna Blanca. She had told her strict instructions not to leave the room until she arrived.

As she slowly made her way out of bed, she opened up the drawer next to her bed, thinking maybe some spare clothes would appear for her magically out of thin air, wishful thinking. Her spare bra and underwear sat there, folded neatly next to each other.

Rose then decided to look out the window. As she slowly made her way towards it, she could see werewolves who had shifted into their wolf form and those who stayed in their human form walking around the village, doing what they needed to do for the day. Some were carrying bags of groceries, some were obviously on their way to work, and some looked like they were on their way to the gym.

Only from this view could she see the whole village, scattered around the village where houses for living in, ranging from small to large, all within a simple building style of red bricks. Then there were buildings which looked like your normal buildings you'd expect in a city. There was a hospital, a school, a library, a gym, office buildings, restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. There was one thing in this village which seemed rather strange to Rose: there were no roads for cars to drive on. In fact, she had not seen a single car since she got here. That was something she'd have to ask Blanca when she arrived.

As she looked down at her PJs, she felt like the Luna would judge her for not wearing anything normal rather than sleep wear. But the Luna hadn't left her any, which she felt was a little bit weird. But she didn't think wearing her red sun-dress would be a good look either. But, she had suddenly remembered that the Luna had told her that there was a spare shirt and pants in that drawer, but maybe she didn't mean that predictor drawer? Rose then darted towards the other bedside table and opened up the drawer. There, sat a green t-shirt and black leggings. She sighed in relief as she started to put them on, neatly folding up the PJs on the bed.

A knock at the door made her jump slightly as she had only just properly put on her leggings, pulling them up over her waist, she made her way to the door. Before she opened it, she looked through the peep hole and saw Luna Blanca standing there. She opened up the door before bowing to the Luna.

"Good morning Luna."

Blanca smiled "Good morning Rose, sleep well?"

Rose nodded. "Yes ma'am I did, the bed was so comfortable."

"Glad to hear, now, it's time for breakfast, then I'll give you a full tour of the packhouse."

Rose nodded as she exited the room she had stayed in and followed the Luna down the stairs and towards the dining room she had seen last night. There were five werewolves sitting down at the table, Alpha Lobo in the main chair, an empty chair for the Luna and two males on either side of him, followed by two females next to them as well. She noticed the four strangers staring at her waryingly. One of the males smirked before his friend beside him glared at him.

"What? I met her yesterday." He said with a laugh.

Lobo then looked at him. "You didn't, she doesn't even know your name, you scented her, then you left."

Rose then looked towards the man who said he knew her. He had short blonde hair with green eyes with a built-looking body, "I'm the wolf that came up and smelt you last night. My wolf likes to sniff new arrivals to get familiar with their scent. I'm sorry, I don't have much control over him sometimes." He chuckled before he started to scratch the back of his head in embarrassment.

"Oh, you were that wolf," Rose said as she chuckled. "Yeah, I wondered who you were."

"I am Beta Kai, and this is my mate and Beta female, Nina," Kai said as he placed his arm around the woman seated next to him. She had dark blonde hair with blue eyes with a slim, beautiful body. She just stared blankly at Rose as she continued to growl towards her mate.

The other male on the opposite side of Kai looked towards Rose as he waved his hand at her, "I'm Gamma Sage, and this is my mate and Gamma female, Gwen." Sage had dark brown hair which ran down to his ears, bright blue eyes and a built body like Kai. His mate, Gwen, had bright short blonde hair and brown eyes. As she was the one closest to Rose, she stood up and gently took Rose's hand. She had to be at least six feet tall by the way she towered over Rose.

"Welcome to the Wild Flower pack, Rose." Gwen spoke in a professional manner, her voice stern yet gentle. "Your tiny," She said as she touched Rose's sides with her hands, "Don't worry, we'll get you big and strong."

Blanca laughed as she placed herself next to Lobo. "She isn't a wolf, Gwen."

Gwen looked towards the Luna. "I am aware Luna, I am just saying, I mean, look at her," She said as she gestured towards Rose "She's skinny, she'd get killed in an instant on the full moon if she wasn't strong enough."

Blanca then shifted uncomfortably, obviously the mention of the full moon rattled her. "I am well aware of that."

Gwen then looked towards Rose again before gesturing for her to sit down next to her. "Sit, Rose."

As she placed herself down, Gwen then started talking to her instantly "So, what do you know about us." She then gestured towards everyone in the room.

Rose then shook her head. "Nothing, Gwen, I was home-schooled." She paused as she took in her puzzled look. "I didn't know there were schools within our human communities that taught us what you guys. My parents never told me about the outside world."

Gwen then gasped dramatically before she looked towards Lobo. "Is that even legal?"

Lobo shrugged "How humans bring up their children is none of our business."

"They should at least know what's gonna happen to them when they turn 18," Gwen said as a growl rattled in her throat.

Blanca nodded. "I agree with you, Gwen, however, they must have had a reason to have done what they did."

Gwen then looked towards Rose. "I am assuming that the Luna has allowed you to read the books she has about us, so you know?"

Rose nodded. "Yes, I asked. I want to be useful around the pack whenever Sullivan doesn't have me doing stuff for him."

Gwen's eyes then widened "Sullivan? Big broody and moody Sully?" She nodded "Why him?"

"I bought her for him," Lobo said as he sipped his coffee.

Gwen turned to him. "Why him?" She said, confused.

"He needs to get out of that mood he's been in recently, he's been a real pain in the ass to be around recently." Lobo grumbled.

"Do you really think she's capable of that?" Kai asked.

"There are rules that people with human's must follow. Hopefully, with his responsibility with her, he'll get out of it." Lobo said "He has only had to look after himself until now. He eats nothing but those gross snack bars and two-minute noodles. With a human, he'll need to have actual food in the house."

Rose then suddenly understood why she was bought for Sullivan, to get him out of that habit, to look after himself and to be a good wolf.

Sage laughed "I wish you luck, Rose," he said.

The door to the kitchen opened as the conversation quietened down, servants and omega wolves brought out the food for their leaders plus their human guest. They placed the food on a conveyer belt which went right around to each seated person, they were able to grab what they wanted before it moved along, some sort of magical conveyer belt.

As the wolves at the table started to grab their share of the food, Rose helped herself to a plate of fresh fruit, which had not been touched yet, it contained strawberries, bananas, apples, watermelon, raspberries, rockmelon and blueberries.

Gwen then nudged Rose. "Don't be alarmed, we eat like animals."

Rose hadn't even looked up at she looked up at the wolves who had helped themselves to the food that had been served, they didn't use knifes or forks, but used their fingers and ate at a rapid pace, as if someone would come and steal their food.

She chuckled at the thought of them fighting over food like animals. Then again, they were animals. As if trying to fit in, Rose dropped her fork that she used to eat her fruit and started to eat with her hand as well. Gwen smiled at her effort as they continued to eat over casual conversation.

Rose learned that Gwen's wolf was named Larka. Kai's wolf was named Bear, because he looked like a bear, according to Gwen. Sage's wolf was named Juno, Nina's wolf was named Rama and Blanca's wolf was named Ruby. She also learned that the reason for the pack's name is that there were once hundards of wild flower species in the area before they built the village, the packhouse being the oldest building in the village, the flower species have been preserved by the pack in their green house and gardens, and some wild flowers still grow within the forests and fields that surround the werewolves territory. She was also told that mythical animals roamed their forests, so she wasn't to be alarmed if she saw one.

When breakfast was done and the table was cleared, everyone went off to do their duties. Gwen bidded Rose goodbye and followed Sage as they exited the dining room. Blanca approached Rose as she waited by the exit for her. Blanca then took her arm and led her outside the dining room.

"So that's the dining room. As you saw, myself, Lobo, the Gammas and Betas eat there basically every day, even though they live within their own houses they prefer to eat with us." She said as they started walking around, "We have enough space to house other Alphas and their second and third in command here for meetings and business discussions." They neared a large door which the Luna opened up, revealing a large in home cinama. "We use this for watching movies mostly, but the boys also sometimes plug in their consoles and play video games."

Rose nodded as she looked at the cozy room. There were bean bags, pillows, lounges and chairs everywhere. "It looks very cozy," she smiled.

Blanca nodded, "It sure is, but the boys can get rowdy in here sometimes. They are very competitive over their video games." She chuckled as she closed the door. "You can hang out in there anytime you aren't doing anything."

Rose smiled and nodded as she followed the Luna near the front door before Blanca turned to her. "You need your collar on you at all times outside Sullivan's house."

"Can I ask why?" Rose asked.

Blanca sighed "It's been a rule for humans in our pack for a long time, if a wolf sees you without a collar, you are free prey for them, because the collar says that you are property of someone, and wolves are very protective of their property."

"What happened to make that a rule?"

"A human that was bought by a wolf, was killed because another wolf thought it was a trespasser. It was no fault of the wolf that attacked the human, they didn't know." She sighed "It was a long time ago, long before Lobo and I were even born."

A servant then approached the two, she was holding Rose's collar and leash from last night. She was also wearing a collar.

"Thank you dear." Blanca said as she took the collar and leash from the girl and shooed her away before she handed Rose her collar, "That's a nice one." The Luna said as she held the pendant that was attached to the collar in her fingers.

Rose nodded "Yeah, it is." She then placed her collar around her neck and placed it on, tying it slightly tight.

The Luna then nodded as she opened the front door. The dirt path led them down the street, houses that wolves lived in scattered down the street.

"That's the Gamma and Beta's houses." The Luna said as she gestured towards the two houses that were outside the packhouse "Their houses have been there since the very beginning, it's a custom to have them live there, so they are close to us in case something happens." Blanca said as they continued to walk "It's because when we had rival packs, they'd attempt to kill the Alphas of our pack to make us weak, they succeeded once, because the Betas and Gammas were not close to the packhouse at the time. They couldn't protect them."

"I see," Rose said. "So, do you still have rival packs?"

"No, those times are over, we have allies now, though the closest pack to us is in the next state."

"Where are we anyway?"

"Central New South Wales, near Canberra."

As they continued down the street, the Luna started pointing out the different shops and buildings. The smaller houses were meant for singles and couples, larger houses were meant for wolves and their families.

"And because Sullivan now has you, you need two bedrooms."

"I feel bad, making him move because of me."

Blanca then stopped and looked at her. "That's kind of you, but his house will now house either a single wolf or a couple. Besides, you need to sleep in a proper bed, you cannot have the couch forever."

Rose chuckled "Yeah, I guess your right."

"Of course I am, now, let's continue."

The village was larger than what Rose expected. Up on the second floor of the packhouse it seemed kinda small, but when you're down on foot, it's quite large. There are plenty of shops to explore whenever she can, plenty of food stores and restaurants to check out. The Luna pointed down a street where the bigger houses were and explained that hers and Sullivan's house would be down there.

Sullivan then exited a small house not that far from them, carrying a duffle bag, his hair messy. He spotted the Luna and Rose and approached them.

He was not happy. "I'm going to see Lobo about the house." He growled before he handed the bag to Rose, who was shocked by the sudden action.

The Luna growled a warning to him "That is not how to treat your human, you know this Sully."

Sullivan then stopped growling, he grunted before he stormed off towards the packhouse.

Blanca then looked towards Rose, who held his bag via the straps. "Don't mind him, when a wolf has to move houses, they are usually quite hesitant about it, their house is like their den, their safe space."

Rose nodded "I understand."

Blanca then started the walk back towards the packhouse, "Come on, let's go back to the packhouse and wait for him there."

As they walked towards the packhouse, Rose suddenly felt very nervous. Would she be able to bring Sullivan out of his shell the way that Lobo hoped?
