"Release My Mate Or.... Die."
Chapter 1
"No!"
Thaddeus roared as he charged forward, his sword flashing beneath the pale moonlight. His blade sliced through the air with deadly precision, crashing against the shimmering water sphere that floated before him.
Clang!
The impact sent ripples dancing across the transparent barrier, but it remained perfectly intact.
Not even a scratch.
Thaddeus gritted his teeth. Sweat rolled down his forehead as disbelief filled his eyes.
The water prison continued to rotate slowly, glowing with an eerie blue light as if mocking every attack he launched.
A burst of mocking laughter echoed through the silent forest.
"Hahaha... Your efforts are useless," Patrick sneered, folding his arms across his chest. "That barrier exists because I command it. It will remain exactly as I want it to. You should stop embarrassing yourself, you damn fool."
Patrick's arrogant smile only fueled the fire burning inside Thaddeus.
His fingers tightened around the hilt of his sword until his knuckles turned white.
"If I can't destroy the water bubble..." Thaddeus muttered through clenched teeth, "...then I'll simply kill the one controlling it!"
Without another word, he shot forward like an arrow released from its bow.
His sword aimed straight for Patrick's heart.
Patrick's confident expression flickered for only a moment.
Just before the blade could reach him—
Clang!
Another sword intercepted the attack.
Bright sparks exploded into the darkness.
A young woman stood firmly between them.
Her long black hair danced wildly in the cold night wind, and her piercing silver eyes burned with fury.
"You won't touch him," she said coldly.
Thaddeus stumbled backward before quickly regaining his footing.
"Move!" he growled.
The young woman ignored him.
Instead, she slowly raised one hand toward the sky.
Immediately, the atmosphere changed.
A powerful gust of wind rushed through the forest.
The trees bent violently.
Leaves spun into the air.
Within seconds, the gentle breeze transformed into a raging tornado.
The storm roared like a furious beast.
Dust, broken branches, and stones were ripped from the ground, swirling around them with terrifying force.
Thaddeus's eyes widened.
The pressure was overwhelming.
Unable to remain standing, he drove his sword deep into the earth and gripped it with all his strength.
Even then, the wind continued dragging him across the ground.
"Damn it..." he hissed.
The storm only grew stronger.
The surrounding trees groaned as though they would snap in half.
For several long moments, chaos ruled the battlefield.
Then...
Everything became still.
The tornado vanished as suddenly as it had appeared.
An eerie silence settled over the forest.
Heavy footsteps echoed from the darkness.
One...
Two...
Three...
Each step carried an overwhelming aura that made everyone freeze.
Even Patrick's smug smile disappeared.
The mysterious woman immediately lowered her head in respect.
A deep, commanding voice shattered the silence.
"I suggest you release my mate..."
The voice paused.
"...or tonight will become your funeral."
An invisible wave of power exploded across the battlefield.
The ground trembled beneath everyone's feet.
The wolves hidden within the forest began to howl.
Thaddeus felt his heart pound violently against his chest.
Only one person possessed an aura this terrifying.
The Alpha.
Without warning, swords clashed once again.
Steel collided with steel, sending bright sparks flying through the darkness.
Patrick struggled to maintain his water barrier while defending himself.
Even so, his breathing became heavier with every passing second.
Thaddeus fought with everything he had left, refusing to retreat despite the overwhelming power before him.
The mysterious young woman remained at Patrick's side, her sword ready to strike anyone who dared approach.
The mysterious young woman remained at Patrick's side, her sword ready to strike anyone who dared approach.
Neither side moved.
The forest held its breath.
Even the wind seemed afraid to disturb the deadly silence that had fallen over the battlefield.
The Alpha stepped forward.
His black cloak fluttered behind him like living darkness, and his silver eyes glowed with an authority that demanded absolute submission.
Every step he took sent invisible waves of pressure through the earth.
Crack!
Tiny fractures spread beneath his boots.
Patrick narrowed his eyes, but a bead of sweat slowly rolled down the side of his face.
"So..." Patrick finally spoke, forcing a smile. "The great Alpha Regalion finally decided to show himself."
The Alpha didn't answer.
His gaze drifted toward the glowing water prison.
Inside, Alicia struggled weakly, her breathing growing shallower with every passing second.
For the briefest moment, pain flashed across the Alpha's usually emotionless face.
It vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
"You've crossed a line you can never erase," he said quietly.
Patrick laughed.
"And what exactly are you going to do about it?"
The Alpha slowly raised one hand.
No spell.
No chant.
No weapon.
Just one hand.
The air suddenly became unbearably heavy.
Everyone present instinctively dropped to one knee.
Thaddeus gasped as an invisible force pressed against his shoulders.
His muscles screamed in protest.
Even Patrick's mysterious protector struggled to remain standing.
"What... what kind of power is this?" she whispered.
The water prison began to tremble violently.
Cracks of silver light spread across its surface.
Patrick's confident expression disappeared.
"No..."
He stretched out both hands, pouring more energy into the barrier.
The glowing sphere stabilized.
Then...
Crack.
Another fracture appeared.
Then another.
And another.
Patrick's eyes widened in panic.
"Impossible!"
The Alpha lowered his hand.
The cracks stopped spreading.
Silence returned.
Patrick released a shaky breath and burst into laughter.
"You almost had me worried."
A cold smile formed on the Alpha's lips.
"I wasn't trying to destroy it."
Patrick's laughter stopped.
"I was measuring it."
Those five words sent a chill through everyone's body.
Before anyone could react—
BOOM!
An explosion echoed deep within the mountains beyond the forest.
The ground shook violently.
Birds burst into the sky.
A terrifying howl rolled across the land.
It wasn't the cry of an ordinary wolf.
It was ancient.
Primal.
Powerful enough to make every werewolf present tremble instinctively.
Even the Alpha slowly turned toward the distant mountains.
His expression changed.
For the first time...
Shock appeared in his eyes.
"No..."
he whispered.
"How is that possible?"
Patrick's smile slowly returned.
"You sensed it too."
The mysterious young woman stepped backward, her face completely drained of color.
"It... it awakened..."
Thaddeus frowned.
"What awakened?"
Patrick's laughter echoed through the forest once more.
"You fools..."
He spread his arms proudly.
"Did you really believe Alicia was the only reason I came here tonight?"
The Alpha's glowing eyes narrowed.
"What have you done?"
Patrick looked toward the mountains, his smile widening into something almost insane.
"I didn't come to steal your mate..."
He paused.
"I came to awaken the creature that even the First Alphas sealed away a thousand years ago."
At that exact moment—
A deafening roar split the heavens.
The moon itself flickered crimson.
And far beyond the mountains...
Two enormous blood-red eyes slowly opened in the darkness.
The Battle had just begun.
What is the creature?
Can Alicia be saved?
What happens when the creature reaches them?
