Heavy dressing please." The lady over the phone responded, sounding annoyed. "No problem ma'am, that'll be $8.95, it will be ready in 10 minutes. Have a great day!" Click! Ugh! This day is dragging. I wonder how much longer until closing time. I glance down at my watch, and it's only 7:30?!?! Only two and a half hours and I'm free. My mind wanders to the comforts of my home. My plushy blanket. My soft bed. And my husband waiting for me to come home. The faint aroma of cologne pierces my senses. HE is nearby. Before I could even scout the restaurant, he comes around the corner to my station with his bus tub and rag. "Hey! You guys get busy today?" The words flow so smooth I damn near lose my balance as they reach my ears. Snap out of it! Be cool! "Nah not really. How about dining?" "Honestly, we would've been better off closing for the night. But hey what do I know. Got any plans after work?" Wouldn't you like to know. Stop it! "Just tv and dinner...with my husband. Assuming he's still awake by the time I get home." I rushed out. Why was I talking so fast? My husband, Andy, was the Beta of our pack so he was always busy carrying out duties for the Alpha.. my father. After we had our pups and his promotion to Beta, it seemed like our time together seemed to dwindle leaving me lonely and h***y all of the time. He chuckled a bit. "Well, I hope you guys get to spend some couple time together. I know how hard that is especially when you have kids." Oh how sweet. Even though I'm married, it's no secret that I have an infatuation with Ron. Even for a human, he's built like a rock and super tall. I'm only 5'1 so anybody seems like a giant compared to me I guess. Andy may not be my mate, but we do have a love for each other that's undeniable. After all he has been good to me and is a great father to my two pups so I can't complain. "Yeah well.." I started, trying to refocus my thoughts, "Either way the sooner I get out of here, the happier I'll be." With that he gave me a warm smile, and walked away towards the kitchen. Oh shut up She laughed and disappeared somewhere deep in mind. We didn't have anymore orders, so I went to the break room to get off of my feet. I worked at a local family owned restaurant in the next town over. Serving wasn't my thing since I did not like people very much, so I was in charge of all the To Go orders. At least that way I had minimal interaction with these assholes we call customers. it didnt help any that I wasn't human. I was the only werewolf that did not work in the same town as the pack and I was okay with that. Growing up as the Alpha's daughter, I was always expected to act a certain way and maintain appearances so that I wouldn't disgrace my parents in any way. At least here, I could be myself without any eyes watching my every move. As I was browsing through my phone, my mind began to wander to Ron. What he would look like shirtless. Or if he was tan everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. I blushed at the mental image. My face started warming up as I imagined his touch on my skin. My thoughts were interrupted by the vibration from my phone. Annoyed that my fantasy was cut short, I looked at the caller id. Shit! It's my husband.
