Episode 4

Alex’s POV Linda kept ranting about the event as we journeyed to the family house. “I can’t believe that b***h did that to me, and you stood there doing nothing. What kind of a man are you that you can’t stand up for your woman.” My brows drew together at the moment, I didn’t know the response to give her because choosing sides was a hard choice for me to make at the moment. “I already saw the reporters trooping in while we were at the club. She’s just a nobody, you’re a public figure and can’t afford to have a scandal,” I responded “I’m a public figure? Was that why you stopped me from returning the slap? Why didn’t you stop her when she slapped me at first? She asked Truth be told, I haven’t seen Anita this way before, I’ve always known her to be cool-headed, calm, reserved and very quiet, I didn’t expect she could do something of such. Or has she been pretending all this while? Several thoughts kept coming to my mind that moment. “Who gave her the audacity to touch me? She might have won today but I’m definitely going to get back at her someday,” she said as she gripped her bags tightly. “Definitely, she can’t escape this, I’ll see to that personally,” I said as I placed my hands on her puffy cheeks and gave her a peck. I find it strange that I kept thinking of Anita when I have this beautiful heiress here who I love very much and is also going to change my financial status. Truth be told, It's been awhile I saw Anita dress the way she did today. I’ll be a liar if I say I didn’t lust after her when I saw her today, she looked like a completely different person on the dress, down to her thick, curvy laps that caught everyone’s attention. But I wonder why I keep thinking of her, it’s definitely not because I want her back, Linda brings a lot to the table than her so I’ll definitely choose Linda a hundred times over. I guess I just feel a little pity for her finding about the affair that way. Also, I’ll be a liar if I say I wasn’t jealous of her and the young man she was dancing with. Just as I was reminiscing the moment, she brought the question, “so when are you filing for a divorce?” I swallowed suddenly before responding, “very soon Linda,” “What exactly is delaying this? We’ve been together for a very long time now and you keep shifting this,” she said. “Not so long actually, it’s not even up to a year,” I murmured, covering my mouth with my right arm when I spoke. “Sorry excuse me, did you just say a year isn't long? You better do something about this before I completely lose my cool,” she said as she rolled her eyes. “I’ll get it done in a bit, I’m just trying to sort out somethings in the meantime.” I swallowed heavily as I spoke. “Your company is almost crashing and you’re here snoozing, my family is a very powerful and wealthy one, the faster you join us, the better for you. You’ll have free access to our wealth to solve your financial problems, most of the businesses will be passed down to us when we marry and give birth to a male child since my elder brother has refused to marry. Not only that, my father being a politician and me being a lawyer, you can be rest assured that your business will bloom because we’ll constantly drive customers to patronise Duncan Motors. I couldn’t hold the excitement in when I heard all this, it was as if I was dreaming. I couldn’t believe it because it felt like a dream come true, but there’s one part that got me worried, “I understand the part where you have to be married but you never mentioned anything about a male child,” “Yes, father needs a successor to his businesses and preferably a male grandchild who will take over his businesses in future after us. My brother refuses to marry which gives us a little chance to get this done.” I faked a smile at that moment because that sounded new to me, she has never mentioned that part to me before. I decided to overlook and look at the bright side, “unending wealth and riches for me.” I murmured and smiled at her. “By the way, who was that man that approached us concerning a s*x scandal?” She asked “I don’t know his, he’s probably just one of those reporters looking to get words from our mouths, just take your mind off it,” I said as the corner of my mouth curved up, I was still very concerned about it. “As we approached the family compound, we saw everyone gathered outside waiting for our return although her father wasn’t there with them,” As we got down from the car, we heard a loud voice, “is that Linda? come upstairs right now!”
