They never blindfolded her when they took her with them, after they got what they wanted. And as Helen sat at the back of the senator’s car, with Jess guarding her by the left side, she wondered if she had made a terrible and deadly mistake. She just realized that she did not really save herself. She just bought herself some time by offering them her knowledge about the thing and by pledging them her help. But after a long time of sitting still like an ignorant cattle that was about to be slaughtered, she grasped that the inevitable ending for her would still come.
