Unusual Happenings

We were still on our way to the hospital, the ambulance in front of me while I was on my scooty following it. The roads were still quite vacant and this place was mostly surrounded by trees on either side with the road in the middle. What was he doing at this time at a place like this? When my brain did not come up with any answer I continued to follow the ambulance. According to the doctor, they were taking him to the 'City Hospital' as it was the closest. I was broken out of my reverie- you know when you forget that you are actually driving while driving? When I noticed something strange. The ambulance all of a sudden came to an abrupt halt because a car came speeding in front of it. My body jerked forward too as I suddenly applied the brakes. What the..? It was a black Ferrari that almost caused my accident and the accident of the man who just got into an accident. Too many accidents. I want to sleep already. It was when four dangerous-looking men in black suits came out of the car with guns drawn that I came to my senses. I was honestly surprised to see my brain working at the right time. Immediately steering my scooty towards the side of the road so that I remain clear of their view I watched as all of them rushed towards the ambulance and in seconds, two of the men went into the ambulance while the other two sat inside the car once again. Slamming the car door with a loud thud they started driving away. Should I follow them? Of course not but I just wanted to make sure that the handsome stranger was fine. Starting my scooty once again I started following them once again. This time I remained at a great distance to in order to go unnoticed. It was after a few minutes that both the ambulance and the car made a sudden turn, now not at all going towards the City Hospital. "Oh for God's sake, where the hell are they going?" I muttered under my breath. I stepped on the brakes as we all came to a stop in front of a huge mansion. Oh my! It was so huge and had stairs so long that my feet ached looking at them. The lights in the mansion looked like stars on such a dark night. My eyes moved towards the medical staff who were now taking the man inside the mansion. "We-we gave him the medicines, sir. His bleeding has stopped….He'll be conscious in a few hours." The doctor stuttered to the driver of the black Ferrari. The man nodded in response and asked, "Who found him?" At that moment my heart stopped. Doctor, you better not snitch on me because snitches end up in ditches. The doctor obviously didn't listen to me and responded, "A girl." The man's eyebrows furrowed in response, "I want her description.." I couldn't hear the response of the Doctor as they made their way inside the mansion but from what I know I was going to be in deep trouble. I wouldn't have come to help the man if I would have a single idea that he was in any way associated with guns and goons. *** The next morning after only half an hour of restless sleep, I woke up looking like a true zombie in every sense. As I looked in the mirror, which I shouldn't have, I realized that my hair went in any and every direction, my eyes had dark circles underneath and I looked extremely sleep deprived. "Come on Elena, you have just two hours to make yourself presentable. First, shower then makeup then changing then breakfast." I talked to myself as I moved towards the bathroom to shower. It was two and a half later that I made my way towards the reception of the 'Knight Industries. My nude heels made satisfying sounds as I strolled towards the kind-looking girl at the reception. "Good morning, my name is Elena Harold and I am here for the interview for the position of senior architect." She looked up at me, smiled and said, "Good morning, I am sorry ma'am but the interviews has been cancelled and they postponed for three days." I was frustrated, they could have emailed me or something. My sleep! "Is there any particular reason for that?" I asked. "I am sorry but that's confidential." Great. Nevertheless, I managed a smile and mumbled an okay and a thank you to her. It took me around ten minutes to find a cab which was ready to drop me home and that made my frustration increase. I had avoided taking my scooty with me because I don't want those men to track me down or recognise me because of it. That's the smartest my brain can go. As soon as I reached home, I changed into my comfort clothes, threw myself on my precious bed and was out as a light in a few minutes.
