Saving a stranger in the middle of the night due to her good conscience leads Elena into more trouble than she ever dreamt of. *** "Don't move." I felt him come behind me. "Turn around." He ordered. I refuse to do so. "Turn around. I won't repeat myself " He warned. As I turn around he placed his palm at the side of my head. His other hand which held the gun made its way towards my chin to make me look up at him. "You really want to die? First, lying then disobeying me." He whispered, his warm breath hit my ear as he traced the gun along my jaw. The cold metal making goosebumps rise on my skin. His grey eyes held such a dangerous glint telling me he won't hesitate to put the bullet in my head.

The Midnight Text
I toss and turn in bed, hoping to find a position that settles me. I've counted every minute on the clock so far but my brain refuses to turn off so that I can fall into a deep slumber. Every time I close my eyes, my brain runs thousands of miles per hour going through every possible outcome for tomorrow. My interview is the first thing in the morning and I need to be bright and on the ball and not look like a zombie which I probably will if I don't get my eight hours of sleep. It's the first time, in perhaps my entire life, that I went to bed this early and have managed not to touch my phone for the previous three hours. Okay maybe just one hour since I keep on checking the time and then not so secretly- my i********:. Anyways, the only reason why I was able to do that was because of my excitement and nervousness about the interview. This interview was very important for me, it can guarantee me the position as a senior architect which I have always dreamt of. To be very honest, being a senior architect in 'The Knight Industries' can make me very rich in a matter of a few months and that was always the goal. I can imagine the dollar signs in front of my eyes and of course - my very beloved 'Prescott apartment'. I do not agree with the person who said, "Money cannot buy happiness" cause well, it can buy you an Audi and loads of books, is that not happiness? Coming out of my thoughts, I sigh for an unknown-th time, grabbing my phone from the nightstand.2:40. Great, just great. Before I can toss it back down and huff into my pillow it vibrates in my hand, followed by the notification that I have received one new message. Unknown Number: Help. I stare at the screen. Huh? Another message comes through and my frown deepens. It was a pinned location. My first thought was to block the number and go on with my tries to sleep. My finger hovered over the 'block' button but I hesitated. With a sigh, I switched off my phone and placed it back on the nightstand. I was already not able to sleep and now this message made the task impossible. Can a person even send a pinned location if they are in dire need of help? I had two options; one, I can go to sleep so that I can have a good interview. Simple. Two, I can go to this location and help the person. And in short have my few hours of fairytale bookish adventure. Of course, it can be a trick which may lead me to trouble or it can be real and a person actually needs my help. It took me almost five minutes to balance the pros and cons and then I threw the duvet off my body and picked up my phone and scooty keys from the nightstand. It was not like the pros won but anyways. On my way, I didn't forget to also grab my purse which had a small pocket knife and pepper spray in it cause a girl gotta do what she can to be safe. Wrapping a scarf around my neck and wearing my jacket I made my way out of the house. The wind was so chilly that goosebumps rose on my skin as I made my way to the location. Since it was so late at night it took me only five to ten minutes to reach there which otherwise would have taken more than fifteen minutes. The roads were isolated and crickets chirped in the background. The place was so deserted and desolate that I couldn't help but feel a little fear in my heart. My mind told me to backtrack as fast as possible but when have I ever listened to it? It was around 3:05 that I reached there. Killing the engine, I hopped off my scooty and started walking towards I don't know where. A painful grunt made me stop and look around. Not far away from me, I made out a silhouette of a person. He or she was lying in the middle of the road. My shoes made little noises as I attempted to quietly and slowly approach the injured person. Upon reaching the person, a quiet gasp escaped my lips because of his condition…
