Chapter2: A Queen First Command

TAYLOR (AURELIA) POV “Luna, your health has gotten better. It was a miracle,” the physician said. I gave him a cold stare, my face blank with no expression. I am trying to remember something from the original host's memory. Something was missing. Did she have memory loss? I clench my head with my legs wide open, then it hits me. She had a handmaid, the one the original host grew up with. But what happened to her? I still felt like a part of the original host's memory was missing. She could be a great help in my plan. “Your Majesty?” “Your Majesty?...” the physician called, seeing I had no expression or the will to say a word. “What?!” I snapped at him. He flinched in surprise and turned to the maids. They shared a confused look. “I was telling you about your health…” “Leave if you are done,” I cut him off, shooing him away. I didn't have the time to deal with his quack ass, maybe later. He packed his bag in a hurry. “Your Majesty,” the physician said as he rushed out of the room. “Your Majesty, the way you are sitting is not ladylike…” the head maid said. I gave her a look. And flopped back on the bed. I haven't left this room yet. I am trying to place a name on every face in the original host's memory. “Where's my handmaid, Elara?” I suddenly asked. The room went quieter. “Do I have to rip out your tongue before you answer my question?” I threatened, sitting up. “Luna, she is at the South Wing of the castle,” the head maid answered. How did she end up there? “Why is she there?” I asked. I reached for a blueberry and dropped it into my mouth. “Your Majesty?” the head maid asked confusedly. I looked at her. The expression on her face showed confusion. “What happens in the South Wing... and why won't you answer my first question?” I asked. This time, I leaned forward and my dress strap fell off my shoulder. They looked away. I rolled my eyes. Before I leave here, I might as well do as I wish. “The South Wing of the castle is where maids who committed unforgivable crimes and were pardoned by the queen or the king are sent... that place is hell, Luna,” the head maid answered. “So...” “You don't remember?...” she asked. I rolled my eyes. “If I remembered, would I have to ask you?” I said sarcastically. “Sorry, Your Majesty. She was accused of adding aphrodisiac into your drink and the king’s….” she answered as she stuttered. “Did I send her there?” I asked. How could the original host send her only loyal friend to that place? “No, you didn't. His Majesty did. You begged for her not to be punished, but since she accepted the crime as hers, she was sent there.” Oh... I should have known that asshole did it. “As the queen, I have the right to release anyone from punishment... right?” “Yes... but you have never...” So the original host was a simp for him. She wouldn't exercise her power, that is why she was perceived as weak. “What?” “You had never gone against the Alpha King's order...” the maid answered softly. “But we are equals...” “Right.” “Yes, but...” “Prepare a dress and a cloak, we are getting back my handmaid...” I ordered. They looked shocked. I snapped my fingers when they didn't move. “Hurry!” “Your Majesty, it is the full moon. Everyone is outside hunting. You might get hurt...” the head maid tried to stop me. “So that means they are outside in their wolf forms...” “Yes...” “Then this is the right time. Hurry!” “But... you can get hurt...” “Do as I say,” I ordered. *** I climbed out of the carriage. The castle was big. I still couldn't believe it. I was transported into this world. I would never have believed that beings like werewolves existed. As I walked to the large wooden gate, the maids followed behind me in panic. The large doors opened and two tall and bulky men walked out. “Who are you?” one of them asked, eyeing me. “She is human...” another said. I snapped my fingers and the head maid walked forward, bowing. “She is the Luna Queen,” the head maid said, showing my crest to the guards. The guards laughed. “We all know the human Luna would not dare come somewhere this dangerous.” I removed my cloak hood and stepped forward. “You seem to know me well...” They looked at me with shocked expressions. “My Queen...” The words held a hint of mockery. They don't respect the original host because she is human and unfavored. “So this is how you drag my name through the mud?” I said. They bowed lower. “No, my Queen. We are sorry...” I scoffed. “I will ignore this disrespect... I want to go in.” “Your Majesty?” “Do I need to repeat my words?” I asked. “No.” “It is dangerous there and if anything happens to you...” “I am here for my handmaid Elara.” “Did the Alpha King know you are here?” one of the guards asked. “What does that have to do with him?” “But...” “If you let me in, I will not tell the king about what you said about his Luna...” I said. One of the things I remembered from the original host's memory was that if servants or guards insult the queen, it is the same as dragging the king's name through the mud. “No, Your Majesty!” “Please let us lead you in...” they said. I followed behind them as I walked further into the yard. I saw people treated like slaves, who, while working slowly, were beaten with whips. Does Ragnar know about this place or what they are doing here? It is so inhuman and wicked. Even if I was ruthless in my past life, I am not cruel to those who don't deserve it. A man walked toward us as we approached the inner yard. “Why did you let them in...?” “Her Majesty...” the head maid said as she showed him my crest. He looked at me. “Your Majesty!” he said as he bowed. “I am here for my handmaid. Her name is Elara...” I said. The man looked up at me. “Your Majesty... I can't let...” “What is your name?” I cut him off. “Hang, my Queen.” “Hang... I am not sure you want to be on my bad side...” I said with a dark expression on my face. In my original life, I learned to make people fear me. I built a reputation around it and that made some people see me as a threat... which led to my death. “Yes... yes... this way, Your Majesty,” he said as he led the way. I could see the disbelief in his eyes. He probably wondered what had changed. And if I need to escape from here like I planned, Elara is my first move. I walked with the man. The cold winter air hit my face as I walked fas ter behind him. I hate this body! I saw a girl crouching down, bent over with a brush, trying to scrub the dirt from the stone floor. She looked weak, dirty, and malnourished. She looked different from the memory... “Elara?”
