we got to the pack house which is in a secluded area in Pennsylvania so we can shift when we want and be away from humans. I went into my office and decided to link Ayla. "Ayla have you made any progress with what I asked you to look into." I asked her.

"yes Alpha, I will meet you in your office." she linked back. I poured myself some whiskey while I waited. Two minutes later there was a knock on the door. "come in" I said, and Ayla had come in with files.

"Hello Alpha, I got what you asked for, it was difficult to hack into but i got into it. Do you know this woman, she owns clubs and hotels and restaurants all over the world. she is also the leader of Mano Romano and the best Assassin, her Assassin name is the black phantom And she is Related to the world's most infamous criminals don Marco Romano, Hassan Nasari leader of the triad, and raul Chavez spains biggest arms Dealer. What's also interesting is her biggest enemy is the same gang your father wanted to get involved in." she said and I found myself sitting up in my chair. My mate, is one the biggest criminals in the world. I couldn't believe it, but honestly I didnt care at the same time. it's just a lot to take in. but she was the enemy of the guy who my father tried to business with, interesting. "what is your interest in this woman, Alpha?" she asked

"well, she is my mate and your future luna." I said, and she looked shocked. For a moment I thought she wouldn't accept this. I was going to be afraid if she didnt take it well how would the rest of the pack take it.

"Oh my goodness, Alpha you've found your mate, congratulations, and shes a total badass." she said smiling

"she is isnt she." I said proud my mate was a successful businesswoman and didnt let anyone stop her.

"also she is going to be at the mayor's Annual ball tomorrow, she is the mayor's best friend, we were also given an invitation, just like every year. so dress to impress and get our luna." she said and then left the office. Looks like I'll be seeing you tomorrow my mate...

THE NEXT DAY

so I am getting ready for the ball. tonight I am wearing a silky red gown and a black mask. Honestly I dont need to go to this ball but because the mayor is my best friend I go.

so me Santiago and Rafael head to the ball. we get there and I see Athena and I run to her trying not to rip my dress. and we hug each other, "Carina you look beautiful, and I've missed you, it's been too long." she said and I looked at her she was in a light pink dress with a white mask and her round belly, yes she was pregnant with her third child. She has twins Lily and Joseph jr after her husband. " you are beautiful yourself and your glowing, and I just saw you last week when we went shopping in Soho." I said laughing. "exactly too long" she said laughing. "now where is that husband of yours so I can bother him I miss messing with him." i said and she laughed "Joseph is in the kitchen with the caterers helping them. He was supposed to watch the kids, speaking of I should probably go look for them now. I'll be back." she said leaving to go find her children. I on the other hand went to the bar to get a scotch. I was lost in thought until I heard someone clear their throat and I turned and saw those eyes, I remember them from last night that gorgeous man I saw yesterday in my club he had his hand outstretched to me, and there is was that pulling feeling like something was pulling me towards him "may I have this dance, my lady." he asked and normally I'd say no but my gut said otherwise, and I took his hand, "yes, yes you may" i said feeling sparks and a shiver go down my spine.

I got to the ball with craig, he went his own way and I went mine I smelled my mate the second we got in here and when I laid my eyes on her she was just so breath taking. so I made my way over to her seeing that she was lost in thought, it was quite adorable actually. But I outstretched my hand and cleared my throat and saw she looked at me. Goddess I could get lost in those eyes. "May I have this dance my lady" I said to her, and after thinking she took it and i felt the most pleasurable sparks and i saw her shiver. It delighted me knowing what my touch did to her. "yes, yes you may." was all she said, so I led her to the dancefloor I placed one of my hands on the small of her back while she placed her hand on my shoulder and I held the other hand in mine. i felt her shiver again. I tried to hide my excitement but failed, she notices me smirking. "what are you so smug about." she asked and I just chuckled. "that I get to dance with the most beautiful woman in this room." I said to her and she didnt say anything just kept dancing. After a while I decided I'd take her to my spot that I normally go to when I come to this ball which is the balcony it has the most beautiful view of the city and you can see all the stars. I'm surprised I never saw her here before but then again I was always out on that balcony when i came not staying inside for more than 30 minutes and I'd leave I was always the first one here and the last one out but tonight i decided to wait before heading here because i wanted to be able to approach her in this manner. so as I lead her to the balcony she says "is this the part where you sneak me off to the place where you kill me and stash me in a room." she says sarcastically and I can't help but laugh.

" I wouldn't dream of killing such a beautiful flower like yourself, but I wanted to take you somewhere quiet so we can get to know each other." I said and she looked at me.

We got to the balcony and she looked pleased. "its beautiful out here. it's been a while since I admired the stars." she said and I looked at her and her eyes were shining. How can someone so dangerous be so beautiful I thought, but then again look at me I'm a werewolf and I'm a good looking guy. "So what do you do for a living, because I know for a fact this ball is only for business owners and politicians and I doubt your the second, your too young and too pretty to be a politician." she says and I smile. "so, you think I'm pretty." I said smirking she just rolled her eyes. "I own Mannaro electric company and Mannaro tech. what about you?" I ask trying to sound like I dont know exactly who she is.

"I own clubs and hotels all over the world, the club you were at last night was one of mine. And yes I remember you from last night." she said. "well I'm too hard to forget, since I'm pretty and all plus my personality is to hard to forget." I said and she laughed at that, and her laugh is so beautiful, I mean everything about her is perfect.

"someones full of themselves." she said and she turned to me then. "so why did you want to get me alone, if you aren't going to kill me what is it that you want." she asked and I laughed

"well you can start by telling me your name" I said

"Carina, my name is Carina Romano. what is yours?" she asked

"Draven. Draven Mannaro." I said

"But the reason I brought you out here was because I remembered you from last night and, I can't seem to get you off my mind I just wanted to talk to you and get to know you and possibly see if you'd like to have dinner with me sometime." I said hoping I wasn't too forward. she looked at me weird. I can hear my wolf in my head "your scaring her away you nitwit." he said in my head I just pushed him to the back of my mind and hoped for the best.

Carina

He was asking me on a date. I dont normally do dating, I haven't even had a first date and I only ever had one boyfriend in my life and he ruined me. But this pull I feel for him is just so weird and it makes me want to explore it even if I'm playing with fire, and even if I dont want to drag him into my life I cannot deny our chemistry and my gut was telling me to say yes and honestly I always listen to my gut. so I decided to do something I hadn't ever done and say yes to a date. "yes, I'd love to have dinner with you." I said and he hugged me. then let me go apologizing for being too much, but he wasnt I thought it was cute. So we exchanged numbers and set a date for tomorrow night for dinner he didnt say where it would be just asked for my address and told me hed pick me up at 6 and after that we stood there for a while and then his phone rang. "sorry I have to take this." he said picking up his phone.

Draven

"hello, Ayla" I said picking up my phone.

"Alpha, we have a problem someone has broken into your tech company and destroyed the place, they were wearing black masks and they left a note there I was able to zoom in on the note and screenshot it. It says ' you've allied yourself with the enemy better watch your back because I will be coming for your head too but I'll make you watch her die first' and that was it." she said I was trying so hard not to crush my phone in my hands I was not ready to reveal myself as a wolf to her yet I'd have to wait until she was comfortable to do that I wouldn't want to drive her away.

"alright I'm on my way." I said hanging up.

Carina looked at me "everything alright." she asked

"no that was my head of security she called to let me know someone broke into my tech company and destroyed almost everything luckily for me that stuff wasnt important all my important stuff is in my basement." I said I winked at her.

"well then I won't keep you." she said I turned to her "I wish I didnt have to leave I was having fun, but I will see you tomorrow." and with that I kissed her on her forehead and left. on the way out I said goodbye to the mayor I linked Craig " we have to go someone broke into the tech company. and they left a note threatening my mate." I said heading outside I can feel my wolf become angry. "someone is out for our mate, we will have their head, and I have a feeling I know who it is, that scumbag cartel leader." valerio said. I spoke back to him in my mind. "i know it too. just let's have a normal day with her tomorrow and then we will tell her about him then we can work together but I will not tell her about us yet I will wait for that." i said reassuring my wolf and after that we headed back to the pack house to deal with this mess.
