chapter 18- back home

   Dravens pov

After dragging a shocked Carina through a portal she fell on her knees breaking down. Seeing my mate in so much pain was killing me. It saddens me because I was looking forward to having little pups of our own running around. But, thanks to my father that won't be happening at the moment, it crushes me because we couldn't do it together, we'd never get the chance to see our baby on a sonogram, hear our baby's heartbeat, never feel a kick, I couldn't kiss and rub her belly and tell my sweet baby I couldn't wait to meet them. It pisses me off because the one person you should want there with you was the one who stripped me of being a father.

I didn't even realize the tears coming out until I saw them fall at the floor, I got on my knees next to my mate and pulled her into my lap and I let her sob into my chest.

"It's okay baby. We will make him pay together. Bur first we have to figure out these powers that we both have. And when you are ready we can try for another baby, how does that sound." She sobbed deeper into my chest. This woman who was so prideful and never once thought about letting someone see her cry was here crying in front of everyone. Everyone started to get on the floor with us pulling us all into a hug.

"That all sounds wonderful. But first I want your father to know I'm coming for him. I want every criminal in the world to know that the black phantom is after him and I want him alive no matter the condition as long as I get the last word. I want the word spread. This time we do this my way."

"You got it boss. Glad to be back. Never felt so good." Santi said flexing his arm.

After a while Carina fell asleep in my arms and she was knocked out she was so tired from the mental and physical torture. I carried her to our room and changed her clothes. I decided to give her something with my scent on it for now because I wanted to do some research on my powers and hers and see how they would be combined with our wolves. So I changed her in one of my t shirts and basketball shorts. I was mentally laughing because they were so big on her but I loved seeing my clothes on her they made this strong woman look so small and I loved it.

I made sure she was knocked out before I headed to our archives. Where the council placed ancient texts I'm sure I would be able to find something there. I was curious to know what powers we both possessed as we are now hybrids me being half angel half wolf and her being half Phoenix but because both of our powers just came into play it could transform our wolves and heighten powers we already have like telepathy or strength etc. Before getting to the library I spotted Rafael and Ayla. They looked so happy together, Just like Craig and Jasmine and santi and Nicole were they were all a perfect match. I didn't want to Stare too long so I left. And that led me bumping into Rami.

"Hey kid, watch your step there. Where you heading in such a hurry?" he asked.

"I am heading to the archives to dig up some more info on mine and Carinas newfound abilities. And I could ask the same of you." I asked.

"Well sadly our time here has come short and we must leave I have things in the middle east to take care of and Marco and Joseph have things in Sicily. We've been gone so long we don't want people thinking they can step in our territory. But we are all a flight away, or you could ask your little witch for a portal and we'd be right here so keep us updated. And make sure my niece heals and stays safe. I know you love her I can see that much but her parents don't know about this and we should keep it that way you won't want her father flipping out trust me he may not be with this life but when he was a kid he definitely participated and he knows plenty." he said and he pulled me in for a hug.

"Definitely, I wasn't planning on letting her out of my sight yet unless she kicks me out or tries to shoot me. I'll definitely keep you posted and you guys are welcome anytime don't just come when there is trouble your not just in the pack but your family and family should stick together not just through the bad but the good also." I said and I swear he looked like he was going to cry.

"The f**k do they feed you kids now I swear you kids are 22 and as wise as an 80 year old. But yes I hear you and we will definitely set something up soon after I handle business. Or if you guys want to get away on a vacation my resort is always open. We have resorts all over the middle east just give us a ring whenever and we will be there." he said.

"definitely, safe travels guys in case you leave before I finish my research." I said.

"Now thats something you'll need to keep me posted about gotta make sure you guys train properly after that you'll need to know what your both dealing with. Plus I want to know who has the more badass powers."

" I'm betting it's her she's literally a living dragon." I said and he laughed before pulling me in for another hug and letting me on my way. I finally make it to the archives and I go straight into the back for the creatures book. Its literally one big book with every creature there is and there is a lot. They even have notes on ancient Greek mythological creatures. Yes those existed. I don't know if anymore do though because they are unheard of anymore. But after digging page through page I came up on the Phoenix section. Now this was interesting, it states that they have telepathy, and incredible strength, along with the obvious which was the fire but the fire only tends to come out in times of anger and sorrow. Or to help escape chains, and after officially gaining the powers after 8 full moons is when the Phoenix should be done fully transforming and you get fiery red and black wings. And then it gets to the bottom stating that if this creature was paired with that of a child from the moon they would get twice the powers they already have, and that things that would harm a Normal wolf won't harm the hybrid so Silver or wolfsbane won't harm her, which is good. Okay so she's got some pretty badass powers. Now with training she'll have to focus on her anger which isn't too hard especially now. It also states what we already knew. If a hybrid among this creature is created it can only be by experimentation in the womb, by natural birth, or if the person possesses a white wolf and is high ranking. Now I bet my father didn't know what he probably thought she was slowly deteriorating from the inside out.

Now moving on to mine. It took a while to get to angels as it was towards the end of the book. It states that I have wings which we proved already. And I also possess Heavenly fire in my veins, that must have been how I was able to get out the chains also. And it went on about what powers full blooded angels have but I'm not full blooded so I had to go to the next page because it went on and on about fallen angels as well but I reached the hybrid part and found werewolf. it says 'if a child of the moon should possess such powers they will receive wings and heavenly fire but unlike the Phoenix it is not activated by anger but only when chained or stabbed or shot will it burn the weapon only a blade stabbed right through the heart that is dipped in silver can badly injure or even kill the hybrid. But the one who is a hybrid will not possess immortality as they do not have full angelic blood.' And then it goes on with the same as the Phoenix about how they are created. So naturally I don't need to really adjust my training unless I'm learning to use my wings.

So this concluded my research for now, I would have to notify the council though that my father is still alive and about his experiments they can probably even appoint someone to help train Carina even though I'd rather do it myself I'd rather someone who knows what they are dealing with. But I headed upstairs, and went back to my bedroom, I saw that Carina was still asleep so I decided to take a quick shower before going to bed. So I went in my draws and grabbed out a pair of shorts and went into the bathroom, leaving the door unlocked just in case Carina had to use the bathroom while I was in here. I turned the water on and while I was waiting for the water to warm up I took a chance to look at myself in the mirror and I looked like I had lost weight a little which is probably true due to being stressed and depressed without my mate and I had bags and dark circles under my eyes. But that will all get better by next week, now that I have my mate back I won't be as stressed. I'm sad yes, due to the loss of our child but I know I can't dwell on it forever. At some point we will have to move on from this point.

I stepped into the shower and I let the hot water cleanse my body of dirt and grime and all of my stress and my thoughts. And then I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and I knew instantly it was my mate. I was shocked though that I did not hear her or sense her come in I was just so lost in thought.

"Hello, my love, feeling any better?" I asked her wrapping my arms around her and pulling her close.

"Yes I feel better, though it is sad our baby isn't here. But I was in captivity I would have lost it one way or another honestly, and I can't dwell on it forever the best thing I can do is work with you to move on. And your right we can always have another baby. But it won't replace the one we could have had. But what will make me extremely happy is seeing your father die. But until then I'm ready to take the next step." she said and I looked at her so lovingly, if only she could see herself through my eyes. Seeing how perfect she is

"Your right, when we have another child it won't replace what we could have had and it never will but this other child and other children will be loved just as much, and besides neither of us knew till it was too late and I'm with you I cannot wait to see the bastard die." I said rubbing my lips on hers and pecking her lips. How I missed those lips. I haven't just missed her kisses but I missed her smile and her laugh. I started trailing kisses from her lips to her neck inhaling her scent her beautiful scent that smelt like oranges my favorite smell.

"So where have you been all this time while I was sleeping. Because even though you put clothes on me your side of the bed was cold so I know you weren't there with me" she said kissing my lips.

" I was in the archives reading up on well us." I told her and her eyes widened.

"us?" she looked a bit confused for a second.

"Yes, baby, us, our new powers. Your Phoenix and my angel." I said and her eyes widened again.

"Ohh, so what did you find out and why didn't you bring me?" she started scolding me now. I chuckled. And I told her everything I found out. And she looked excited about both of our powers. "And I didn't bring you because you were exhausted and with everything that just happened you deserved your rest. But we can start training tomorrow and you can be there when I call the council in the morning to explain everything they will want to know my father is alive and what he's been up to and his experiments not just on me or you but to himself and others in his 'new pack' plus they can also send someone here who knows a lot more than us. And also your family left and by the way they are all wolves now I had to because they couldn't go against my father without supernatural help and they also begged me." I said. "Yes that's fine we can talk to the council. And are you telling me my whole family is now the biggest supernatural mafia in the world." she said excited. "Yes baby." I said. "I don't know whether to be scared for others or excited or feel bad for the poor humans that try to mess with them I mean even as humans my family was a force to be reckoned with but now with extra power it just adds fuel to the fire." She said and I laughed. I moved a wet hair out of her face and I held her face in the palm of my hands and just stared into her eyes. "I missed you so much. And I just love you with every fiber I have in my body." I told her. "I missed you too like crazy and I love you so so much baby." she said hugging me. I grabbed the shampoo. "Turn around baby. Let me take care of you." I said and she did as I asked. I scrubbed her hair so softly also trying to get the knots out. She had naturally curly hair so not washing or brushing it has made it a knotted mess. And then she started moaning and I instantly got hard. Why does she do this to me. "This feels so good. Where would I be without it." I said to her being serious. Because I missed her touch so much. She then finished my hair and started scrubbing my body with the soap and a wash cloth. I turned around shut the water grabbed my towel dried off real quick and then I dried her quickly leaving our hair wet but I didn't care I needed my mate and I needed her now. I picked her up and took her over to the bed and laid her down.
