chapter 20- The right to remain Silent

Carinas pov

I woke up the next morning feeling exhausted, that training yesterday has left me so sore. I turn around looking for Draven because I noticed his warmth isn't there. So instead I wake up to a rose and a letter on his pillow.

  Good morning my love,

You were sleeping so peacefully that I didn't want to wake you. With everything that has happened I thought you at least deserved that little bit of peace. When you wake up and see this I will be in my office doing some work so get dressed and join me and I will take you out for breakfast.

He really is the sweetest, I sometimes wonder how I got so lucky. I mean I sell guns and kill people for a living I don't see how I could have hit the jackpot and gotten the sweetest husband ever. I smell the rose once more trying to get the scent to linger in my nose because roses are one of my favorite flowers aside sunflowers and daisy's. And I get up and get dressed, since he's taking me out to breakfast and it is cold outside because it is winter I just throw on some jeans and a red long sleeve crop top, I wet my hair really quickly so I can brush it and I decided to leave it down today and let my curls out.

I walk past Craig and Jasmines room and their door is open and they are making out on their bed. "Well hello love birds." I said to them shocking them they sprang apart.

"If you wanted to watch just ask" Craig says with a smirk. And Jasmine hit him. "No one is watching cause you are mine." Now she's getting possessive over him. "Girl I have my own plus I don't want to well as he called it get craigmatized." I laughed. "Well have fun you two and don't forget to make me the God mother." I said having a feeling that Jasmine is going to turn up pregnant soon they are worse then me and Draven. They screw all the time. I left them and was seeing if I could run into anyone else but it doesn't look like anyone else is up, they are all probably sore and tired from yesterday. I finally get to Dravens office. He was sitting at his desk doing paperwork, I closed and locked the door behind me.

  "Why hello handsome." I made my way towards him slowly moving my hips seductively when I walk and it seemed to put him in a trance because he couldn't take his eyes off he hadn't even spoken yet. I got closer and I rolled his chair away from the desk. And I placed my hands on his leg already seeing his hard bulge through his pants. "Sleep well, my Alpha?" I said the last word slowly. "Babe we are in front of a lot of humans plus we shouldn't start a scene before we leave I will say something or if she gets out of line again, but we came here to have a lovely breakfast in each others company so let's not let her ruin it." "Thank you." I sighed. "The things I do for you." he chuckled and we took our seats. And before I knew it broken hip lady was back. "So, sir, what would you like to order." She asked getting all flustered and s**t. I was glaring daggers at her. And I was literally thinking of all the ways I'd torture her. She was really ticking me off. So I decided to play a little game with her. " Yes, my handsome husband. What would you like to order." I tried making my voice squeaky like hers it didn't work out in my favor. She glared at me and I smiled at her. She did not look happy. Draven looked up from his menu warning me with his eyes. But I don't care I have to torment her somehow and I'm sure he'd rather this than what's really going through my head. "I'll have a southern omelet with home fries." he said handing the menu over to her and she was about to walk away before I shouted, "I'D LIKE A WAFFLE WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS ON TOP OH AND WHIPPED CREAM. OH AND SOME CHOCOLATE MILK." I said to her. After she walked away Draven was scolding me. "Whats with the look?" I asked him with a puppy dog eyes. "Don't give me that look you know what your doing." he said. "Well 1 I'm not doing any harm and it's better than what I'm actually thinking of doing and 2 she completely ignored me I mean she wasn't even going to take my order so why am I the one being scolded when she's not doing her job just cause she's a jealous b***h. And I swear if you side with her I'll get up and leave and you'll never see me again I don't care if this stupid mate bond has a say I will not be belittled by some prissy waitress b***h and scolded by my husband who likes to play nice." I told him and he got upset then. His eyes turned black. "You will not leave me. Ever." He said. So I got up. "I'm going to the bathroom to take a piss and if your still on your period when I get back I'm leaving." I said to him and I walked away. Mate or not, husband or not I have too much pride to be treated and talked to like that. I saw miss prissy and she was still walking funny. "Excuse me, hit on my husband again in front of me or disrespect me again and I'll make you wish you were never born. Oh and by the way you should stop walking like that it's not sexy makes you look like you need a hip replacement. Now can you direct me to the bathroom." I said to her and she was about to catch an attitude before her coworker stopped her. "The bathroom is straight down and then make a right." the boy said. "Thank you sweety, its so hard to find good quality service these days." I said to him and then pulled out a wad of money and handed it to him. He looked like he was going to piss himself. And the girl had her mouth open. "How'd you get all this money?" he asked. "Her husband. who else gold digging bitch." she said. "Actually it's my money hoe, And the names Carina Romano. I own tons of businesses." I said and she looked like she was fuming. I walked away but I made sure I was listening. "That b***h is so disrespectful. But her husband is hot I'd jump that." she said I was two seconds from Turning around and shoving a fork down her throat while I scooped her eyes out with a spoon until I heard the boy talk. "Shut up, do you know who she is?" he said, so ny name rings a bell for him at least. "No and why should I she looks like a cheap whore." she said. Cheap w***e my ass if anything she's the cheap w***e. "You dumbass that's Carina Romano. As in Mano Romano the mafia plus she does own like tons of businesses. She's an icon. And she can kill you in like 2 seconds. So if I were you I wouldn't get on her bad side." I'm going to have to talk to this kid on my way back. I went into the bathroom and I called down though I stood in there for like 10 minutes. Draven even came by and knocked on the door but I didn't answer. I was pissed at him. He ruined my mood. I couldn't wait to get home so I can ask Raf if I had any assassin jobs open I could use the kill, I needed to let out my anger.

  After another 5 minutes Draven mindlinked me "Foods here." and then he cut off the link. What an asshole. So now I'm going to ignore him. But I was hungry so I was going to go eat. I ran into that kid again. "Hey kid what's your name?" I asked him. He smiled so widely. "It's Mateo. Mam." he said bowing. I laughed. "Your not in karate you don't have to bow. And don't call me mam as a matter of fact call me Carina. I like you kid and you have potential. If you ever want a real job with real money. Call me this is my business card ill give you two in case you lose the other one, but if you lose those just come to my hotel in the city and I'll be there." I said to him and he hugged me. "Thank you this means a lot to me." I hugged him back. And I saw Draven looking at me and he looked pissed but I didn't care.

I made my way over to him. "You know it's really funny that you scold me for having a woman flirt with me but then you hug a random waiter." he said shoving a home fry in his mouth. The anger was seething off of him. "First off I was thanking him because he stuck up for me over your little girlfriend. And. I offered him to work for me that's why he hugged me." I said scolding him. "Work for you doing what oh yea killing I suppose." he said. "No. He's a child. I'd have to train him first but I'd have him doing innocent work in my hotels and restaurants and then I'd give him a choice if he wants to go that route he can. And don't test me Draven we both know your no match for me. You may be an Alpha wolf but even without my powers I'd kick your little werewolf ass so if it's a fight you want it's a fight you'll get." I said letting the anger roll off of me. Until there was a spark coming out of me and I actually set the table on fire. "I wasn't hungry anyway. I'm leaving. You can stay with your girlfriend if you'd like." I told him and I left so fast making sure I ran through the crowd of people and out the door I kept running and running. "Callida is there a way I can turn off my scent for now. I don't want him following me." I said. "Just concentrate on the thought of not being found. And get to the woods. Your half Phoenix now you can run faster." She said and I did and it worked. I ran and I ran till I got to the waterfall, but I knew he'd follow me here so I swam through and saw a cave I hid in there. I also blocked my mindlink. I didn't want any connection to him at the moment. He's going to get mad at me for some petty waitress who disrespected me not once but more than once. f**k him. I stood there for hours. I was getting calls from everyone even my team but I didn't answer because I knew he would be with them. I waited till my phone died, before I could leave it was also why I chose the waterfall since I was right by the water no one could track me. I got out and now I had to walk back luckily I knew where I was it just sucked because it was cold and I started to freeze I looked at my reflection through my dark phone and saw my lips looked purple. I just kept walking. I knew when I got back that I was going to get scolded but I didn't care, and I was definitely leaving when I got back to head to the city to clear my head and get back to my duties.

20 minutes later

I made it back and it was still daylight. Rafael, Jasmine and Santiago and Nicole, Thomas, Jason and Preston were outside.

"where the f**k have you been, we have been worried sick we all lost contact with you." Raf said.

"I had to clear my head and Draven pissed me off I didn't want to answer and have him know where I was. Im sorry I worried you." I said.

"What do you mean Draven pissed you off what did he do. And your soaked and freezing let's go inside." Nicole said.

I explained the situation to them. They were all surprised. "Dravens been looking for you all day he's got Ayla in the control room and he's with Craig Owen and James searching for you." Thomas said.

"Well he'll have to keep looking cause we are leaving. Raf do we have any jobs or shipment coming in I need to get my hands dirty and my mafia needs to get back in control." I said.

"We have shipment coming later on tonight, if we leave now we can make it." Raf said.

"Good so we leave now I'm going to my room to pack some things and you all should do the same. And then we leave. Raf if you want tell Ayla but tell her not to tell Draven I don't want him looking for me right now." I said. And he nodded.

  "Good let's go have some fun." I said to them and they all cheered. But Rafs words echoes in my head. "Ayla, Carinas here we have a shipment tonight and we are leaving but don't tell the Alpha." Oh s**t. "Raf did you just open your link TO THE WHOLE PACK." I said. s**t s**t s**t.

"Ohhh shitt." he said.

"Yea oh shits right dumbass." Santi said smacking the back of Rafs head.

Then we heard Draven.

  "WHATT DO NOT LET HER LEAVE. UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES."  he said.

"We need to move like now." I said and we all sprinted. I was in the middle of packing when the door slammed open and Draven came in and he looked pissed. He slammed the door shut.

  "YOU THINK YOU CAN LEAVE ME. YOU CANT." This was his wolf talking.

"I can and I will. Your going to have to kill me to stop me." I told him.

  He grabbed me by my hair. "I TOLD YOU YOU CAN NEVER LEAVE ME." he said. I pulled out my knife and held it to his throat. "Touch me like that again and I'll cut you open like a f*****g pinata." We stared at each other for what felt like forever until he called down, and then he fell on his knees and started crying. I swear he's like a 13 year old girl with her period. "Please don't leave me. I love you. You know I do. And yea Maybe I should have said something to that waitress but it didn't matter to me because I only want you. And then you ran off and your scent cut off and I couldn't feel you and I thought something happened to you and I just thought that I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let something happen to you again. Its already my fault that our baby is gone. I didn't want something else to be my fault." He was sobbing.

"I love you too. But you keep forgetting who I am. I am not just your mate or your wife or your luna I'm a leader of my own things and not only did you let her disrespect me repeatedly you disrespected me. I will not stand for that. I have come too far just to let some guy pull me back down. And losing our baby isn't your fault it's your fathers so don't try to guilt me either it won't work. And I'm not leaving you I never was I just needed a few days to clear my head and I do still have duties as a capo I need to be there for shipments." I said to him.

He got up off the floor and came to me and gave me a hug. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I didn't know that's how you felt. I know you tried to tell me but I didn't listen. I just didn't want you to go all American psycho on her. And I don't forget who you are I know your a strong woman who has her own mafia and s**t but I'd like to once feel like you can lean on me. So please forgive me."

"I forgive you. I suppose." I said to him.

"No you have to mean it." He said.

"Okay I forgive you." I said again. And he hugged me tighter. "Oh and I'm coming with you and I'm not taking no for an answer. I would like to see capo Romano in action." He said.

"Fine, on one condition. You do not underestimate me, and don't for a second undermine me in front of my men cause I'll chop your balls off put them in a blender and feed it to you." He sighed. "Fine I accept." And we made it to the cars.

"Oh look. Wolf boys coming." Santiago said.

"Well looks like he can see how boss gets along with her business." Preston said.

"Yes he can and he already knows not to interfere cause I told him I'd chop off his balls and feed them to him." All the men held their crotches. "Not the boys Carina." Thomas said. And us girls laughed. "You men and your d***s so sensitive." Jasmine said.

And we made our way into the city. We got to the hotel. I had to stop here before we headed to the docs. But we never made it inside. There were cops everywhere. And one lady came out she had tan skin and light brown hair. "Carina Romano You're under arrest for the murder of Lucas and Sergio Garcia. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney if you cannot afford one one will be provided by the state." She said.

"Don't worry honey I can afford a lawyer." I said winking.

"You won't be so smug when I'm threw with you." she said.

"is that a challenge. I love a challenge." I said I turned to Raf.

"Raf call my Lawyers and get them down here."

"Yes." He took out his phone and started making calls. As I was being put into the car I heard Draven trying to get to me.

"Carina we are going to get you out of this. I love you." And then they drove off.
